Zhang Lei reacted exactly as Lexian wanted her to do. She knew that her aunt was still bitter about Alix refusing to give her any benefits.

She picked up the tray which had a cup of extremely hot coffee and marched in the direction of the living room. Lexian smirked victoriously, Alix would not walk all over them just because she had managed to get pregnant. Which woman could not do such a simple thing? You offended her first and made an enemy out of her when you were one of the first people in the family she extended kindness to. It’s not too late to mend the relationship, instead of acting like this, just apologize. Sister Alix is kind, she will forgive you and bury the hatchet immediately. "What do you know, you are just a sixteen year old, stay out of adult matters." Lexian replied rudely.

She left the kitchen and the other women watched her back with sneers and judgement.

"She is a fool." One of them said.

"Even sixteen year old Panpan knows better than her. She is just jealous of Alix and she is going around instigating others to start trouble."

The wife of the second elder was among the woman and she snorted. "Let her be, with how vengeful Caishen is, do you think he will let her restaurant survive if she offends his wife. She is new to business, has tasted a little sweetness and now acts as if the whole world should kneel before her. Mark my words, she will regret her actions someday.

In the living room, Zhang Lei stormed in with the cup of hot coffee and evil intentions, Her plan was to slip accidentally and spill the coffee onto Alix.

Alix was unaware of the evil intentions of the woman as she was mentioning the possible boy to girl ratio she was hoping for.

"All girls, i want five daughters."

Grandpa Zhang laughed and shook his head.

"I sense your grandfather in your ears, old Tai must be whispering this to you. Two girls, three boys."

The Zhangs were not desperate for female descendants, they had enough, their family was quite well balanced. All of them agreed with grandpa Zhang, it was best to have bot boys and girls.

Suddenly, the bracelet on Alix’s hand became a little warm and she instantly became alert. She turned her head around and saw Zhang Lei approaching her with a duplicitous smile on her face.

Something exploded with a big bang outside, inside the house one of the little children was playing with the wooden horses Alix had given all the kids as gifts. The child was frightened by the bang and increased the speed of the horse.

It bumped into Pang pang and the cup of tea in her hands went flying through the air. It splashed onto Zhang Lei’s back, scalding her.

She screamed and the cup of coffee in her hands slipped, its contents landed on her exposed feet and she screamed very loudly.

Zhang Yong and Zhang Mixi quickly went over to help her while grandma Zhang fussed over Alix’s stomach as if the children had been harmed.

"Grandma, i am fine." Alix insisted.

The old woman was examining her stomach physically over the large white shirt she was wearing. There was nothing to examine at all, that little noise was nothing compared to weather boy’s thunder during their fight. If the babies had been safe through that, they were more than safe now.

What she was feeling was a hot sensation on her head and hands. Clearly, Zhang Lei had been planning to pour that cup of hot coffee on her.

It was so hot that the woman was crying, her feet were red and blisters were already forming.

"Hmm, it serves her right for targeting you. If only she had brought hotter coffee so that her skin could be peeled off." The system commented.

Alix gave Zhang Lei one last look and turned her head away. Grandma Zhang meanwhile went to take a look because Zhang Lei was still her daughter.

One of the security guards came in to share what had happened and assure everyone that everything was safe.

Grandpa Zhang sent him away and ordered for Zhang Lei to be taken to the hospital.

Alix did not want to spend a single second longer in that house lest another person attempt to burn her with another hot liquid. Where Zhang Lei had failed, Zhang Lexian was sure to try.

It was so easy for her to deal with two idiots like them but she was just giving them a little face because they were her husband’s relatives.

What the attempt to pour hot tea on her had done was make her change her mind about giving Zhang Bo Wukong’s system. Instead of empowering the Zhang family, her own family would have to be empowered first.
