Chapter 565: Scared dad to be

"He is going to do that for the rest of the night." Tai Change figured.

Nobody could beat their grandfather when it came to bragging. It would not be surprising if he started claiming that the babies already looked like him even though they had barely formed visible human features.

Tai Haoyu slapped Caishen on the back, shoving him forward slightly that the glass of wine in his hands almost tipped over.

"So, how do you feel now that you are joining us in the wonderful world of fatherhood?"

Caishen put down the glass and stood up, walking towards the door leading out of the dining room. He closed it and returned to the table.

"Can i be honest?" he asked.

All the men nodded.

Caishen drew in a deep calculated breath for a few seconds. He looked at Tai Haoyu with honest eyes.

"I am terrified." he admitted. "But don’t tell your sister. She is already terrified enough as it is and i have to be strong for her." He picked up the wine glass and downed all of its contents.

"Five kids, even though we have the resources i have no idea how we are going to manage them. I have never been a father before, i am worried that i might not do some things right. I know for sure that Alix will not want to raise them in the ways of the Zhang family, she says it’s cold. I just want them all to feel loved equally and ....."

"What are you worried about? With eight uncles, three grandfathers, three grandmothers, two great grandparents, other relatives from our side and not to forget your own family members who don’t suck, those children will never be lacking for love." Tai Dishi boomed loudly.

"Just raise them in the ways of our Tai family." Chairman Tai suggested.

Tai Haoyu picked up a pumpkin seed and tossed it at Dishi. "Let the man worry, he is a first time father after all. Brother-in-law, we all had many worries when our wives were pregnant. It is inevitable that every parents worries about something. Having one child terrifies you, imagine five at the same time."

"At least he didn’t faint when he found out about it." Tai Chao looked at his youngest brother Tai Bo.

Tai Bo had fainted when he received the news about his wife being pregnant with his first son Dalian. For years they constantly kept reminding him of this event.

Tai Bo just rolled his eyes at his brother.

"Yeah, yeah, it’s old news, we have long moved on. How do we know that he didn’t faint when he found about the five babies?"

All of them looked at Caishen, a variety of different expressions on their faces. Five children was really quite a big number, how had he handled the shock of the news?

Caishen looked back at them, unsure if they were trying to help him alleviate his own fears or simply contributing to the conversation in any way he could.

"You are going to be on the news." Tai Fong giggled.

"Did you guys use the rabbit’s foot?" Tai Haoyu asked curiously.

Before Caishen could answer, his phone rung. It was his grandfather and he had a feeling about why he was calling. News of the pregnancy must have reached his ears.

He excused himself to answer the call, moving to the bar inside the large dining room.

"Yes, it’s true grandpa." he confirmed after listening for a few seconds to his grandfather.

At the dining table, the curious individuals had turned their attention to Tai Haoyu, he needed to explain the rabbit’s foot to them.

Tai Haoyu relented and he shared what he knew about the rabbit’s foot and even went ahead to mention some of the women that had received positive news after using it. He was only aware about it because he once heard his grandmother and mother discussing it.

When he was finished, the men were even more perplexed, except for Tai Fong who was excited. With the foot he could also have five babies when he got married.

"Keep that thing away from me, one son is enough for me." Tai Haoyu said."As a matter of fact, keep all rabbit’s away from me unless they are on my plate, preferably braised."

Tai Fong suddenly gasped and slammed the table with his hand.

"Does it mean someone is capturing innocent rabbit’s and chopping off their feet to use as a fertility drug? I have changed my mind, i don’t want the foot anymore."

"Should i remind you that you eat rabbit’s meat?" Tai Bo laughed at his nephew.

He thought him hypocritical to be furious at that when he was not a vegetarian.

"Why did you want the foot in the place as an unmarried man?" his father asked.

"You do realize that you will have only five sons." Tai Change reminded him.

Tai Fong blinked a few times, realizing that maybe he had put the cart before the horse. In order to have children, he needed to marry first and to have five babies at the same time, his wife needed to be on board. Also, five sons, if they were anything like him would be a bunch of troublemakers. Maybe it was best to stick to two.

Caishen returned to the table and put down his phone.

"Brother-in-law....." Tai Fong started.

He intended to ask about the origin of the rabbit’s feet but Alix entered the room, calling for Caishen urgently. She had her phone out and she was shaking it.

"It’s another one." she shared, before sitting down beside him.

It was another attack, one close to home as it was right there in their own district.

"It’s a six tailed fox." she added with an excited squeal. It was something straight out of a fantasy, it would be better if it was white in color but it was red. "I want it for mother, i am going."

She got up and run back in the same direction she had come without a second thought.

"Eh!’ Caishen jumped up with the intentions of following her.

She was pregnant, there was no more need to keep their secret in his opinion. In fact, he wanted to discuss the game as well, now that her pregnancy was confirmed, was it safe for her to keep playing?
