The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system-Chapter 564: A fulfilled great grandfather to be.
Chapter 564: A fulfilled great grandfather to be.
Xiaobo was like a cassette player, incapable of keeping his mouth shout and keeping the secret they had reminded him over and over in the car was a secret.
The moment they entered the house, he shouted the couple’s good news for all to hear.
"Brothers, uncles, Xiaobo is going to be a big brother. Aunt-mommy has many babies in her stomach."
He looked around for his favorite people, Wu Gang, Wu Wei, Yuewei and Tai Jiaan, eager to share with them that they too would be big brothers.
He followed grandma Tai’s cat, Royal to the rarely used small home theater which had been added to the mansion when Alix joined the family.
Thanks to Xiaobo, Alix and Caishen found themselves in the spotlight as soon as they arrived. Her mother had already dropped the drinks in her hands and she was squealing like a mouse.
Alix held both of her hands up. "Mother, calm down." Her eyes darted around the living room, pausing on her father, her uncles that were playing a card game and her two oldest brothers that were watching a repeat of the spring gala.
Why they were bothering to watch was confusing to Alix because someone was loudly playing old music in the next room and it was dominating the air.
Alix took a step back when she saw the fiery looks in their eyes. She was certain that within a few seconds, someone was going to sweep her off her feet.
"Everyone, let’s take a deep breath first and calm down. Do not oooomph!"
The words were hardly out of her mouth when she was suddenly lifted off her feet and twirled around by none other than her father. How he had moved so fast to reach her, she could hardly guess. Or perhaps it had skipped her mind that he too was now a system host.
"Father, my daughter is pregnant, i am going to be a grandfather finally."
His exuberant declaration had his brothers curious as they looked at their nephews that had children. Were their sons little wooden boys instead of boys with flesh and blood?
Alix was very embarrassed to be carried around like that at her age. At the same time, her heart was full, after all, Lin Qianfan had never carried her like this as far as she could remember.
"Qilu, wife, did you hear that? We can finally begin shopping for all those tiny pink bows and shoes that we saw when we were shopping. We are going to have a cute granddaughter that smells like powder and flowers." His laughter reverberated through the living room. "Father, Tai Liwu is here, we are going to have our cute Liwu in a few months."
He stopped whirling Alix around and put her down, however he was extremely emotional and from nowhere, his voice cracked.
"Liwu," He called softly, pulled Alix and hugged her again.
Alix was blown away by his sudden emotional outburst, she had expected this exaggerated reaction from grandpa Tai, not the normally calm chairman.
"Father," she croaked out softly and hugged him back.
"My daughter, you are the greatest. You are daddy’s Liwu, my gift and also Zhufu."
Alix clenched her hands around his waist and she smiled, nobody had called her a blessing before. Somewhat, his excitement actually made her feel more reassured about the pregnancy. What was she worried about when she had a strong support system like this?
She was pulled out of his arms suddenly, yanked more like and she found herself in grandma Tai’s arms.
"Is it true?" The old woman asked excitedly.
Alix nodded. "Mmm, grandma, you are going to be a great grandmother."
Before more could be said, she was pulled into grandpa Tai’s arms, from his to Tai Change, then Ho Sun, then her aunts, more brothers followed. Alix found herself being passed around from one person to another and everyone loudly congratulated her on her pregnancy. The excitement in the air was contagious, erasing all of Alix’s worries completely. She had a wonderful family to fall back on, even if the sky fell, she had a safety net.
"We must celebrate." Grandpa Tai announced. "No, i must call all of my friends and tell them that i am having five granddaughters."
He left the living room with a spring in his step and stopped, turning to Caishen. They had all congratulated Alix and forgotten about Caishen.
Grandpa Tai did something unexpected, he turned around and hugged Caishen.
"Good job, young Zhang, good job. You just might be my favorite grandson-in-law."
Caishen hugged the elder back and laughed. Perhaps the old man had forgotten that he was his only grandson-in-law as he had only one granddaughter.
"Thank you, grandfather." he answered softly.
Tai Dalian turned on the music, one of those pop songs that they could dance to and he spun around.
"Party, party, party," he chanted.
Alix was led to a chair by her mother and two aunts that were already in fussing mode. With five babies on the way, it was impossible for them all to be male. Finally, they would all have little princesses to dote on and dress up like cute dolls.
"Do you want anything to eat?" Auntie Mo asked her.
"Are you having morning sickness?" Aunt Aihuan asked her.
"How far along are you?"
"Is there anything you can’t anymore?"
"Are you craving sweet or sour things?"
"Do your feet hurt? Your mall sells these foot massagers than can help. Do you want one?"
They bombarded her with questions one after the other until grandma Tai came with herbal tea and made them give her some space.
"This is very good for pregnant women, it’s nutritious and i added honey so you won’t frown at the taste."
The women didn’t move an inch, staying by Alix’s side, maintaining their fussy attitude. The joy in the house was loud and almost tangible. The Tai’s had just entered the new year with a bang.
The younger ones were accompanying Tai Dalian in dancing, Xiaobo moving around the most, free and excited more than when he was at the home of the Zhang elders.
Wu Gang was in the corner sketching them all all on his tablet.
The rest of the men dragged Caishen away to get him drunk because he was the other main celebrant of the spontaneous party.
Tai Haoyu sighed slid Caishen a bank card.
"An allowance for you brother-in-law, you have done great."
Caishen accepted it gladly and he put it in the breast pocket of his jacket.
Tai Change did the same. "Our family really has so many reasons to celebrate, we increased our jewelry sales this year by five percent thanks to our sister. We are becoming systems hosts, we are going to have nieces and our sister is getting married."
Grandpa Tai poked his head in and got himself a glass of wine without getting off the phone.
"That’s right, my granddaughter has on one but five babies. Old Mo, your granddaughter gave birth last year but she only had one baby, right?"
He removed the phone from his ear and laughed.
"He hung up on me." he chuckled. "Let me call old Han." he dialed another number.
He was a fulfilled man and everyone would know it. Hadn’t they mocked him for not having any female descendants, he would rub Alix’s good news in their faces. ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm
