Chapter 559: Another attack.

She could not get over the shamelessness of some members of the Zhang family. Not everyone was bad, of course but there were some that were simply unbearable.

"Do not do any favors for anybody that is not worth it. You are not obligated to do anything Alix, you are my Zhang Caishen’s wife, not the Zhang clan’s wife. You have the right to say no and assert yourself if you feel wronged, even if it’s by me."

His words consoled her and her tense body relaxed. She thought that perhaps packing up and running to her grandparents house was not necessarily the most efficient way to handle the problem. At the end of the day, this was her husband’s family and spending a few days with them would not kill her.

It would make her miserable, but it would not kill her.

"Do you still want to go? If you say yes, i will explain it to grandpa and go with you. I know that you would rather be with your own family, your brothers are over there and they are probably having a lot more fun than you right now."

They both imagined the chaos, laughter and harmony at the Tai house.

The watch which Mantis had strapped on her hand beeped, a warning sound came from it. There was a report of another attack somewhere in the Daxing district.

Alix was already irritable and in need of a person or something to take her anger out on. Originally, she was planning to work her anger out in the game but this suddenly seemed to be a better option.

"Another wolf morphing system user." her system shared. "Tsk, this one is better than the last one you captured, he had released at least one hundred mechanical wolves."

Alix again couldn’t help thinking that the wolf morphing system was not so bad. Just as she thought, the host practically had an army. He could just release those one hundred wolves, then sit back and watch them tear you to pieces.

"Oh, he is releasing more." It sent the footage which it was receiving from Mantis’s watch and the camera in her eyes to Alix’s phone.

"Mantis is already there." Alix was surprised. The alert had only gone not more than a minute back.

"Aang is transporting the strong ones to the battlefield quickly while others are already on the super bullet train. Do you know that this super bullet train can actually move under water and some system hosts are coming over from overseas."

Caishen grabbed her hand and keenly looked at the watch before his eyes went back to the phone in her hands.

"Hubby, i have to go, this is the second attack today."

She pulled her hand out of his and shifted her body, trying to dislodge his hands that held on to her firmly.

"Maybe you should not go. It cannot be a coincidence that the attacks are happening within days of weather boy showing up. The captain said that he intends to kidnap you so this could be his strategy to force you out. Recently you have been in doors a lot, or surrounded by dozens by people so you have been well protected. In the midst of a battle however, you will be vulnerable. If they have someone like Aang on their side, it will be so easy to snatch you."

Alix had already figured all of this out. It was rather simple to put two and two together. She thought it was rather cowardly however because a one on one confrontation was much easier than all this theatrics.

"I know, but hiding is not a plan and i cannot stay behind closed doors forever. I also think that if they have someone like Aang on their side then no matter where in the world i am, they can get to me.

One system host was already gravely injured today because of me. I cannot sit back and do nothing when they are risking their lives."

He loosened the hold on her waist and his hands fell to his sides. How could he stop her when she had talked about one system host being injured already, if she stayed back and one was killed, she would blame herself. She was going to join the battle no matter what he said, she would not give up, it was not in her blood to so.

She tapped a request for special transportation icon on the smart watch and kissed Caishen on the cheek.

"I wish i was coming with you." he sighed, miserable.

She kissed him on his other cheek.

"You can’t, a secret weapon cannot be a secret if everybody knows about it. Wait for me hubby, i will be back quickly."

Caishen grabbed her hands with his long ones, kissing the backs of each hand. Alix could feel the slight tremors in his hands, he was nervous_, scared in fact. Even though he was familiar with her strength, there was always a greater mountain.

Aang appeared in their bedroom with a grim look on his face.

"The captain is not happy." He sighed and added, "Neither am i, these fuckers are ruining the holiday for all of us."

"The quicker we deal with them, the sooner we can begin enjoying it."

Alix held her hand out to Aang expectantly. He sighed as if he was suffering incredibly before taking it.

"Be careful." Caishen called out.

The words were not just meant for his wife, they were meant for Aang as well. Now that he was alone, he fell back on the bed, got his phone and checked the bureau website. Sometimes, some system hosts would share live footage from their individual battles. Maybe someone involved in this all out battle would share something. He wanted to keep an eye on his wife in any way possible.

It was not his lucky day however, nobody was sharing any footage which left his feeling disappointed. Someone knocked on the door and then turned the handle before he could consent to the invasion.

The manner less invader was none other than his nephew Xiaobo whose love for his aunt was overflowing. He had turned himself into Alix’s shadow whenever she stepped out of the bedroom.

Caishen guessed that was the reason why Xiaobo’s eyes were roaming around the room. In one hand, he was carrying a plastic bowl with fried melon seeds.

"Uncle, where is my aunt-mommy?"

Caishen got up and led the little one out of the bedroom. He did not want Aang and Alix’s return to be viewed by the boy lest he start demanding for his own Aang__, or someone that could teleport him to places. Alix had spoiled him almost rotten and he was becoming too pampered technology wise.

God help them all the day the little baby young master Xiaobo found out about systems. There was no doubt about it, he would run to his aunt-mommy and ask for one.
