The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system-Chapter 558: Alix’s troubles in the Zhang family.
Chapter 558: Alix’s troubles in the Zhang family.
Zhang An looked around, glancing at the other daughters of the Zhang men like herself.
"No offense to any of you, i am just like you after all, no shares, which is okay. What i am doing is proving a point to aunt." Her eyes found Zhang lei and Huan Jiao again. "Let’s be honest, you guys are just jealous, right? Especially you Huan Jiao, you have been going around spreading rumors about Alix because everyone likes her. How can we not like her, she is pure, loving, generous and adorable unlike you.
All you do is scheme how to make money out of our grandparents and throw around your weight in public using the Zhang name so how can any of us like you when your character is rotten?"
Huan Jiao sneered at Zhang An.
"You are one to talk, your character is not good too and if it was not for the money spent on pay offs you would probably be sitting in a prison somewhere."
"Ha!" Zhang An jutted her chin forward and scoffed, "I am a changed woman. I can admit that i was not the best human being in the beginning but i am now better than you. Just so you know, Alix gave me a car too, even the elders of the family received cars.
She told me to make a list of people in the family that i think should also get a car and i can confidently tell you right now that you are both not on it. I will even include three month old Zhang Zhi but i will not add you."
She flipped her hair and turned around, walking away with a huff. Some people run after her, wanting to know if they had been included on the list.
Xiaobo put two of his fingers in his ears, stuck his tongue out and mocked Zhang Le and Huan Jiao.
"Even i little master Xiaobo got a car from my aunt-mommy. Grandma Jiao, you are bad, i will tell aunt not to give you nice things.."
He flipped his short hair, scratching his neck accidentally but he didn’t wince. He just turned around and run after Zhang An.
"Why are the rest of you still here?" Grandma Zhang questioned the small crowd of relatives that had gathered to watch the drama.
Everyone dispersed, with the exception of Zhang Lei and Huan Jiao that the elder intended to give a scolding. She could not believe that her own daughter had told Alix a married daughter was like spilt water. If that was the case, what she doing here as well? Wasn’t she married?
And why did she drag Huan Jiao over, couldn’t they go to the home of the Huan elders for the holiday? In all the ruckus they had caused, they had only succeeded in making fools of themselves.
"You two, follow me." she ordered them coldly.
In the bedroom meanwhile, Caishen was dumb struck as his wife was packing a suitcase, not that she needed to pack a case with that special bag of hers which never left her side.
He understood that his aunt had vexed her, and it appeared like she was very unhappy about it to the point of leaving. This was why he did not want those two annoying women mixing with his wife, nothing good ever came from his aunt.
He shifted and sat down next to the suitcase. "Ahem, babe, are you really leaving?"
Alix folded the dress which she had worn the prior evening.
"I really don’t get along with some of the people in this family, at this rate we are going to clash all through the holiday." She put the dress in the suitcase, moved and sat down next to him.
She could not keep folding clothes determinedly when he looked like an abandoned puppy that was about to cry. Shifting further, she extended until all of her body was comfortable on the bed.
"Hubby Zhang, your aunt and cousin have been giving me those hostile looks since yesterday but in order to keep the peace, i didn’t comment on it. Not all family members get along, i understand, it happens. But to attack me so cruelly and call me an adopted daughter while telling....." she shook her head, "No, commanding me not to give the good things in my hands to my family because i married into your Zhang family is too much."
He moved and sat directly opposite her, crossing his legs just like her. "Don’t listen to aunt, she has always been unreasonable. Your things are yours and only yours, how you choose to handle them is your business."
He reached out and touched her face, it was warm and the skin of her cheeks was smooth. Caishen couldn’t bear to be even this far from her, the small space between them was ocean sized in his mind.
He retrieved his hand and went around, cradling her from behind while his legs wrapped around her waist. His heart calmed down incredibly, and he felt wholly relaxed.
This is better, he thought.
"It’s not just your aunt and her daughter, your cousin Lexian and Zhang Liu Liu were whispering about me last night. Lexian thinks that i am selfish because i sell the beef jerky and spices to her instead of handing them over freely since we are all members of the same family."
Caishen scoffed into her neck. "How ridiculous! even between family members a clear line must be drawn when it concerns finances. Increase the price and demand for more money, you already gave her a cheap price back then because she is my cousin, if she doesn’t appreciate it, she can go and find a new source."
He put his hands around her waist, planning to keep her with him. If she wanted to leave, they would go together, that’s what husbands and wives did. They moved as one.
"I gave her the opportunity to work together, she turned it down and now she is bitter about the way things worked out, and somehow i am to blame.
Zhang Liu Liu thinks i am selfish because i have not offered to teach her daughter how to play the violin.
I have a music school but she has never come around to sign her daughter up for classes or approached me personally and requested that i take the girl under my wing. Instead, she wants me to go and beg her for the chance to teach her daughter.
Do i owe her something in order to make such a move? I have never even held a personal conversation with her beyond exchanging greetings. If she had asked me to teach her daughter, i would have said yes in a heartbeat but now, i cannot do it.
If we are all being petty and entitled, i should be angry as well since i have a music school and yet her daughter goes to Gongzhu music conservatory? If everyone in the family is supposed to support each other, how have those two supported me?"
