Alix feigned surprise and she gasped before laughing and covering her face, channeling the actresses she had seen on television.

Even though she was trying, she failed spectacularly to portray the right emotions. There was something lacking in the sincerity of her surprise.

Holea switched off the music and sighed, "Forget it everyone, she is faking it. Look at her, she doesn’t even have one tear in her eyes."

When Alix was genuinely surprised or overwhelmed, tears were her usually her first reaction, not that dry ass Oh my God and award worthy gasp.

Some of them groaned in disappointment while others passed around different notes of money, having bid on whether she could successfully be surprised or not.

The party was not ended anyway and it officially started in full swing. She was treated to hugs and praise from her family and friends, and surprisingly students as well. Expertly, she navigated through the guests and thanked everyone that had showed up to congratulate her on her first tour.

She even brought out some of that liberated spice cake for them to taste before temporarily hiding in the kitchen to yawn and catch a break, super body or not, she was exhausted.

Holea and Jin Kang traced her to the kitchen and joined her there, grabbing sits to keep her company.

"Should we send everyone away so that you can sleep?" Holea immediately expressed concern for her friend.

From an eleven hour plane ride to an ambush by reporters and then a party, Alix was bound to be tired. If she chose to send everyone away, they would be understanding for sure.

Jin Kang got herself a second helping from the remaining half of the spice cake while Holea made three cups of coffee and she handed two to her friends.

"No, let them have fun, it’s not as if they have other things to do anyway." Alix appreciatively took a small sip of the black liquid and frowned. "Too bitter, needs more sugar."

Holea just rolled her eyes and pushed a small bowl of sugar cubes Alix’s way.

"You are just like a bee, if it’s sweet you want it."

Zhang An joined her friends and she pulled out a chair as well. Holea faithfully got up and made her a cup of coffee as well.

"What are you guys talking about without me?"

"Alix’s tour, i am so envious because she got to take a trip around Europe on someone else’s money." She sighed and looked at the cup with longing eyes. "I want to take a trip too."

"Then treat yourself, you earn enough money to afford it. If you want to bag pack across Europe for a month, you can afford it."

Holea could not see what was holding her friend back. In fact, if Jin Kang wanted, she could book tickets the very next day and leave.

"Did you hear the part about someone else’s money?" Jin Kang asked. "I want a free trip and i don’t want to go alone. Of course i am also open to splitting the bill as long as i am not going on my own."

"Tell your boyfriend." Zhang An suggested absent minded.

Jin Kang suddenly became still for a few seconds, her eyebrows came together in a frown and she pushed away the untouched cup of coffee.

"I am going to end things, it’s about time anyway."

Alix gasped, genuinely shocked this time round. Holea and Zhang An were shocked too by this news. Just yesterday, Jin Kang had shared pictures on her moments with Du Fuzi on a date. They had gone star gazing and then they visited a car racing track. In the pictures, they appeared to be happy.

"Why?" Zhang An blurted out.

"Is it the three month dating limit?" Alix too had a question of her own.

Holea didn’t ask but her eyes conveyed worry and curiosity.

Jin Kang nodded and smiled as if she was so unbothered and personally uninvolved in the whole situation. "I won’t wait for him to dump me with flowers, a candle lit dinner and a smile."

"I heard that it’s a card and a bottle of wine." Zhang An whispered, wishing to correct the facts.

Of course, she could not add more details because Alix abruptly put her hand on Zhang An’s mouth, physically encouraging her to save the details.

"Whatever it is, i am not going to wait until he presents it to me. I will feel better if i walk away on my own terms with some dignity."

Instead of offering empty advise and words of consolation Alix put a hand over Jin Kang’s and squeezed it. Only a blind fool would not be able to see the look of love in Jin Kang’s eyes whenever she was with Du Fuzi. She was not walking away for the sake of dignity, it was because she was scared to have her heart broken.

"If you have thought it through then be steadfast, don’t waver. It’s better for you to be alone than with a man that doesn’t want to commit or draw a clear picture of your future." Holea advised calmly.

"I will introduce you to another guy, i know like ten guys better than Fuzi." Zhang An willingly offered her matchmaking services.

She had never been in support of their relationship anyway, Du Fuzi the man that dated for three months and cut ties was not worthy of a sweet gem like her friend Jin Kang.

Jin Kang did not want to bring the party mood down or make her troubles the center of attention. "Okay, let’s talk about the tour, enough about my relationship troubles. What was it like in Paris, is it as romantic as social media media makes it look?"

Alix did not hesitate to share the stories about Paris and all the places she had been to. She even showed them some of the pictures that she had taken.

"When did your husband visit?" Jin Kang was looking at a picture of Alix and Caishen at the Eiffel tower.

Crap!! Alix thought. She had forgotten that Caishen featured in some of the pictures. She grabbed the phone out of Jin Kang’s hands.

"He flew out to visit me, why are you surprised?"

"Ho, you have already had your honeymoon." Jin Kang raised her eyebrows playfully as she teased her friend.

Alix stuck her tongue out at her friend and the women started laughing. The teasing continued for a while, mostly from Jin Kang and Zhang An and it went on until auntie Mo decided that it was time for the guests to go. Family members in the fold had to stay as they had something serious to discuss.

Alix gave everyone that had come a souvenir picked out from the different countries she had visited. She had brought too many.

When they were gone, everyone gathered in the living room and the doors were sealed. Tai Jiaan and Yuewei were the only young ones allowed in.

"What is the surprise you brought us for Alix?" Tai Ho Sun Asked.

Alix was too impatient to wait so she went straight to the point, having discussed everything with Caishen already.

"Systems, i brought three systems. So, who wants to be a system host?"

Every hand in the living room went up as she expected. Indeed, who would not want a system, but she had already chosen two people.

"One is for Yuewei and one is for Tai Jiaan, they are sports systems and they are the sportsmen in the family. One however is a knight system which is up for grabs. So, how do we decide who gets it?"
