The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system-Chapter 539: A hunter in her backyard.
Chapter 539: A hunter in her backyard.
As the car journeyed to back to her house, Alix was treated to the gossip and updates on everything that she had missed while she was away. Grandpa Tai did not hold back, even telling her the stories about strangers she did not know.
The old man was talkative, like Dark Death and by the time the car pulled up to the front of the building, Alix was no sure if his mouth still had any saliva. Surely, it had to be dry from over use.
"Oh, before i forget." He put an arm on her hand before she could follow auntie Mo out of the car. "That so called rumored teacher of yours master Rong came by the school before we closed for the lunar new year holidays. In your industry, he is considered quite a legend so quite a few students and teachers were making a fuss. It took everything in me not to slap him in the face, i heard from Caishen about what he did to you."
Alix felt a small spark of anger light up in her chest like a firework set to go off but then it was extinguished quickly. It was a good day, she just didn’t have it in her to lose her temper and break any jaws.
"What did he want, where did he go? Who was with him, did they enter my office or the students composition room? Did he enter the musical orchid house or touch any of our music instruments?"
She blasted him with questions. A sly snake like master Rong showing up in her territory when she was not around, he surely came with ill intentions.
"Which students did he talk to?"
Grandpa Tai saw that she was interested and his energy increased. He felt justified in sharing the news with her, he had a feeling that master Rong was up to something.
"He talked to that young girl Nana extensively, the one that plays the piano beautifully. One of the famous piano associations called her the next Ye Zidi." He folded his face distastefully, showing that he did not appreciate that comparison.
She knew that he was feeling this way because of her, he thought she was a better player than Ye Zidi but Ye Zidi was the best female piano player of their time. If anybody was going to be compared to Ye Zidi, it was only right that the person be his granddaughter.
Alix was not bothered, she didn’t want to be compared to Ye Zidi, she didn’t want to be compared to anybody at all. She wanted to to stand in her own lane, a unique one.
"They had a discussion for about an hour and he gave her a business card. What do you think he was up to?"her grandfather asked.
"Probably hunting, that bastard dares to poach students in my own backyard. If he thinks that i am still easy pickings then i will teach him a good lesson by stealing all of his students in turn. Just watch grandfather, i will destroy his reputation by exposing all of his dirt and making sure that he can never show his face in public as a teacher for any student."
Grandpa Tai approved of Alix’s attitude. He had sent some people to beat up that master Rong but he had failed because the man was never alone. He was always in the company of adoring students or fans. He even surrounded himself with three bodyguards which was ridiculous because he was just a teacher. What was he protecting so much?
The thought still left a bitter taste in grandpa Tai’s mouth. He was angry about master Rong having bodyguards and claiming they were useless as he was not overly wealthy or a politician in need of protection. It skipped his mind that he was plotting to have the man beaten up and maybe that’s why master Rong needed bodyguards. Who knew how many other people wanted to beat him up?
Even though he had failed, he knew that Alix would not fail. How could his mighty little dragon warrior of a granddaughter fail?
"Tell me what you have in mind and grandpa will provide you with any resources you need. Whether it’s a partner in crime or an alibi, i will give you one."
Alix laughed and she briefly leaned her head down on the old man’s shoulder. Her grandfather was quite adorable and funny in so many ways. A partner in crime, she already had Majesty and Mantis, her grandfather would not be able to keep up with them.
"Ahem, anyway, i heard that you keep offering to take people flying in dragon form. This old man is not standing at the edge of death you know. My heart is not so fragile that i cannot take a little excitement."
His face was slightly red, clearly embarrassed to make the request directly. Again, she found him incredibly adorable and cute. Just a small request like taking him flying was not a big deal. It was an activity she enjoyed doing on many nights and having company was always enjoyable. The only person that had enjoyed this privilege so far was Caishen, he had probably bragged about it to her brothers and created sour feelings.
They too had been complaining about it in the family group chat with the exception of Tai Chang who said that kind of excitement was for the young ones.
"Aiya, you didn’t tell me that you are an aspiring dragon rider. When do you want to go grandpa?"
Auntie Mo intruded and poked her face in the car with a frown.
"Father, what are you two discussing out here that you cannot talk about inside? Your granddaughter will faint if she doesn’t eat something within the next hour."
"Mother, i am not that delicate." Alix stepped out of the car.
Grandpa Tai did the same and they made their way to the house. Alix could feel them becoming giddy and anticipatory as they approached the door. The two were trying so hard to hide the smiles on their faces but it was pretty obvious that there was a surprise waiting for her inside.
As soon as the door was opened by nanny Luo and she stepped inside. The hallway was empty and silent without a sign of any guests.
"Oh, where is everyone?" Alix pretentiously asked, indulging them in their fantasy.
She smiled craftily, not wanting to point out their mistakes. This was a house where teenage boys lived, everyday, they had different size sneakers on the shoe rack and yet the same shoe rack was completely empty today.
Also, the smell of food in the air was a little too strong to be contained. freёnovelkiss.com
"Your husband is at the office and the boys have all gone to see their friends. It will be just us three for dinner." Auntie Mo answered.
Alix rolled her eyes, just them three, where was her grandmother then?
"Oh!" she feigned sadness on her face.
They walked forward and when they came to the empty living room and about two dozen people jumped up from different hiding spots. Tai Fong with his usual madness was holding fire crackers that were sparking.
"Surprise!!!!"
