"Bid!" Grandpa exclaimed. "Wow, look at this smart ass! Where is your filial piety and respect for elders? As the oldest person here and your grandfather, i should be offered the system."

"Grandfather, a knight system sounds like it involves a lot of fighting, at your respectful age, you should not be fighting. I am saying this as your filial worried grandson." Tai Fong responded in a small voice.

Grandpa Tai huffed and glared at Tai Fong, ready to face him in a fight to prove who was stronger. Even though this was a chuckle worthy moment, realistically, everyone knew that a knight system was unsuited for the old man.

"Old man, just let the young ones have this one." grandma Tai soothed him. "Let’s wait until Alix gets her hands on something more dignified."

Elder Tai was still miffed but he let go easily and everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

"I am bidding ten thousand yuan." Tai Fong offered.

Everyone glared at him, what a cheap skate he was! ten thousand yuan for a chance of a life time, he was crazy.

"Ten million yuan." Tai Change directly raised the price.

"One hug a day forever." Chairman Tai countered.

He was also eyed with disdained by his sons and nephews. Ten hugs after a ten million bid, he was just as ridiculous as their grandfather.

"Sold." Alix boldly declared.

"Huh!" Many heads turned from the chairman to Alix. Why was the bidding ending when it had not even started? What was this price of ten hugs? Where systems that cheap?

"Sister, i will double the hugs and add belly rubs." Tai Dishi countered enthusiastically.

"I will add a chocolate factory on top of hugs and belly rubs." Tai Change’s voice boomed.

Nobody was more puzzled by Caishen by the offers being made. When did they go from money to hugs as currency? Also who told Tai Dishi to add belly rubs, was his sister a dog?

Alix waved her hands, "Everyone, just give up for now. Let’s give this one to my father as filial piety from his daughter. In a month or two, i promise to bring more."

When she called it filial piety, they had no choice but to surrender, albeit unwillingly. Deep down they were excited however by Alix’s promise to find more systems for them.

They had already agreed not to ask many questions about how she acquired them and if discovered as system hosts by the bureau, the answer was simple, they woke up like that.

So, while Alix and Caishen led three people away to activate their systems, those that remained behind enthusiastically discussed what kinds of systems they wanted and what they would do if they got them.

Three days quickly passed since Alix’s return to the country and she had been using her time to rest, which was not the plan for this day unfortunately for she had been summoned.

"Nanny, can I have another helping of the bread pudding you gave me for breakfast?"

Alix was loitering around in the kitchen, hoping for an extra helping of the tasty bread pudding which had sent her to sweet heaven before setting off for the old Zhang mansion to answer the sudden summons of the elders, which she was doing reluctantly considering what she had experienced the last time she was there.

It was not the Zhang elders that displeased her that time, it was the blue eyed woman. Who knew what awaited her this time?

It would have been so much easier on her if Caishen was going with her. What was it that the elders wanted that could not wait for the lunar New Year which was only two days away?

"You are going to give yourself an ulcer or a heart attack." Her system warned.

"A hospital sounds like a better option for me right now. Why is it that every time I have to go there I feel like I am walking to a guillotine?" she sighed and twisted her body from side to side. "Dealing with the Heinrich family did not feel as daunting as visiting my grandparents-in-law."

"Should I hack into the phones and the cameras around the mansion to see who else is going to this shin dig?"

"Shin dig, really!" she exclaimed.

The blue elf shrugged, it was learning from its host and a silly host made for a silly system.

"Fruit it, hack and tell me what I am walking into. Eavesdrop on their conversations too and loop me in when my name is mentioned."

Nanny Luo returned from the pantry with more bread pudding but it was packed to go. It was two containers, one big and one medium sized. Behind her, nanny Wang followed with a bottle of a slightly yellow liquid that smelled strongly like apples.

Alix’s nose crinkled first as she thought it was apple juice. Nanny Wang noticed her look of slight discomfort and she raised the bottle up.

"It’s homemade apple wine for the elders. The two of us brewed it using your apples and it’s about two months and a week old. All of the bodyguards are in love with it so I thought it would be a nice gift for the old master. When you are handing it over, remember to mention that it was your idea for us to make the wine. Your nanny here wants the elders to value you so much, she is worried that they might be heartless towards you if they think you are not good enough."

Nanny Luo shoved the containers into Alix’s hands carefully with a pinched look on her face.

"Ignore Wang Ma, she talks too much. I just heard that the youngest brother of your husband is marrying a girl from the wealthy Rui family and she has been visiting the two elders frequently with a lot of gifts. You should not fall behind in earning and keeping their favor. You should fight back before she becomes a shoulder for them to rely on more than you. Her words held some wisdom but Alix didn’t give them so much weight. She had no intention of pleasing the elders as if she depended on them to eat. In fact, she was more valuable to them now that she was a system host. They were the ones clinging to her.

But, Alix had no plans of surrendering her marriage to any intruders just as she had no plans of cozying up to the elders. She chose to laugh and reassure her nanny whose fears stemmed from the experience of her mother with grandma Lin and what had befallen Yura.

"Nanny, I am adorable, how can the elders not adore me? I do not need to compete with anyone for their love and affection. I only need to cozy up to my husband."
