Chapter 529: Romance in Paris.

After the love confessions dried up, they maintained their hug for a few minutes and only separated because someone splashed water their way.

"We know it’s the city of love but can you please cool it." DJ Raf, very loudly said this for all to hear.

The catcalls and whistles, plus the ’kiss her’ demands and kissing sounds which followed were even worse. It was then that the couple realized that they had quite the audience as everyone was watching them. Alix turned her embarrassed face away from them.

Caishen stood up and took her hand.

"Let’s go elsewhere, we don’t have much time. Let’s date like it’s our last night on earth."

He waved his hand at Aang while Alix grabbed her bag. Aang transported them away to the Seine river. As one the most popular dating spots in the city, there was no shortage of couples walking walking arm in arm. Couples of all ages, young and old with big smiles on their faces.

There were some single people too and families engaged in different activities like listening to the soft melodies being played street musicians, watching performers that were dancing, putting on a show as if they were on a grand stage.

Some people were sitting by the river’s ages, sharing glasses of wine. Alix and Caishen walked slowly without a specific plan in mind, just enjoying the magical ambience. Caishen was talking about random things.

"Do you know that this river is 485 miles long, that is 780 kilometers, 78,700 square kilometers and 30,400 square miles?"

"No, i did not know that hubby."

Caishen beamed up, "Fun fact, people used to swim naked in the river before 1983 and there were boats that were installed to take hot baths."

Alix looked at the river and she crinkled her nose. Caishen did not notice her crinkling as he guided her to one of the edges and they sat down on at table by a beautiful bistro.

"Here is another fun fact, many famous painters like Monet, Sisley and Matisse have taken inspiration from the river for their paintings."

He looked at her with youthful radiance on his face, "It’s amazing, isn’t it? Hundreds of years ago this place used to look so different, what will it look like a hundred years from today?"

It was not the most romantic conversation but somehow, it invigorated her. Maybe it was because of the light in his eyes as he shared these things with her. Alix moved her eyes up and calculated how old she would be one hundred years from that very day.

"I will be one hundred and thirty one years old, probably dead and already turned into dust. Unless the hidden city and their researchers find a way to make us all live longer." She pointed at him and pouted cutely, "Make sure that you do not die before me. We go together or we don’t go at all."

Even the subject of death which should have been grim did not elicit sadness from him. The words she said just made his heart skip a beat. He was completely on board with her, they would go together or no one would go.

"You are not allowed to go before me as well."

"Like i could you behind for other lonely old widows to hit on." she joked.

Caishen chuckled, took her right hand suddenly and kissed it on the back.

"Me and you in Paris, who knew? I never could have fathomed that this was in my future. That i would meet the hurricane called Tai Alix and she would bring me back to life, capture my heart and give me an unadulterated love, one so pure that i wonder sometimes if i deserve it." He kissed the back of her hand

"Hurricane..." she raised her eyebrows.

"Do you remember what you were like we were met? Clothes everywhere on my neat floors, snacks in bed, towels on the table, socks on the table lamps. My hurricane Alix...i should have named you that."

Behind them, Aang that was shadowing them like a bodyguard snorted. Alix looked back and hissed at him, before looking at her husband.

"Hubby, are you declaring your love for me or reminding me of my dark past?"

She would be the very first person to admit that she was an ex slob, key word being ex as she was now neat. freewebnoveℓ.com

A waiter came by and put down two glasses of wine that Caishen had ordered for. Alix shook her head and pushed the wine away.

"I get this urge to vomit when i attempt to drink wine lately. I think i could be allergic to it and maybe that’s why i could never drink in the first place. The blue smurf told me to lay off wine completely."

Caishen invited the waiter over and both glasses of wine were taken away. He put cash down and asked her to stand up so that they could continue their stroll along the Seine.

From there, Aang took them to the Eiffel tower and they took an elevator up to the observation deck. They joined many other couples in taking photographs, especially Alix who was overly excited.

"Hubby, look at the view. It’s so breathtaking and beautiful and oh my God, let’s do the titanic."

She pulled him and mimicked the iconic pose of the lead stars Jack and Rose from the movie titanic. It didn’t matter to her that they were not on a boat or people were watching. They were young, fun and in love.

Poor Aang endured pain and he took pictures for them, albeit reluctantly.

"I really hate them." he muttered.

"My turn," Caishen turned her around and he kissed her on the lips.

Aang groaned and muttered, "I should have filed for hazard pay."

It was supposed to be for dangerous jobs and this qualified to be a dangerous job as it was dangerous for his eyes, mind and heart. These two were just stabbing him over and over.

They didn’t stay at the Eiffel tower for long and Caishen took Alix to a flower vendor and he bought her two dozen long red stemmed roses which she accepted with a squeal as if she had never received flowers from him before.

Because there was no ending to the marriage proposals on the grounds below the Eiffel tower daily, people assumed from her squeal that Caishen had proposed and she had said yes.

It resulted in an applause out of the blue and heartfelt congratulatory words and well wishes from strangers. Alix shrugged and she hugged Caishen, laying a quick kiss on his lips out of the blue.

She turned around, showing her left hand to anyone that cared to look and shouted out loudly, "I said yes."

Another round of applause followed and a quick photographer with a Polaroid camera showed them the pictures he had taken of them. Caishen paid for all the over priced pictures with joy.

Once again, the couple kissed, indulging in affection like never before so shamelessly.

"Kill me now." Aang muttered as he watched them kiss again, for the third time in one night.

Those two were already married so what yes had she said? You two are an old married couple, he longed to remind them but didn’t. The way they were going at it, it was going to be a long night for his poor heart.

This city was not for the singles.
