The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system-Chapter 527: Alix for president.
Chapter 527: Alix for president.
Alix’s eyebrows moved up quickly as she absorbed this sudden shocking news. She got her phone out of her pocket to look up the president of the bureau of system hosts.
It was currently a woman, a white silver hair haired woman from the American bureau that was not a system host. It clearly said so in her information.
"No way," Alix shook her head and even laughed, thinking perhaps that Mantis was pulling her leg. "There is no way an ordinary human is leading the whole bureau. That doesn’t even make any sense. The bureau exists to maintain a good relationship between humans and system hosts, how can the person at the top not be a system host? How will they understand the problems and needs we have? You are telling me that it has been like this for years!" She tilted her head and put a hand on her waist. "You are pulling my leg, right?"
Mantis shook her head, her face as serious as all those times when they were plotting their heists.
"I am not kidding. The presidents of the bureau since 1856 have all been human. I don’t know why the change happened but it did. The original bureau was founded by seven families around the world that had wealth and system hosts. This came after another secret war between humans and system hosts led by a system host with a world domination system named Bu Tao.
World history doesn’t cover these facts but Bu Tao and his group escalated most of the wars in the 1800’s.
Of course another dominator one showed up in the 1900’s but you can read that for yourself on the website.
After Bu Tao’s defeat, he disappeared from the world, never to be seen or heard from again. However, he had caused a lot of distraction and in order to prevent something like that from ever happening, the bureau was formed.
The seven families are from the seven continents of the world. In order to balance power, the president changes every twenty years and power moves from one family and one continent to another. The former president was European, the current one is American and the next is supposed to come from Asia."
Mantis was tired of standing so she led Alix to two empty lounge chairs by the pool and handed her a cocktail which she took a small sip of.
The story did not stop as Mantis continued sharing the facts with Alix. "All of them have been human. There is no precedent that says a system host cannot be the world president of the bureau. Those that stand however always drop out or lose the election even though we vote for them. If things have to change, we have to take back authority from the seven families and establish a new bureau with new rules."
Alix raised her hand and stopped Mantis for a moment.
"Wait, seven continents, does this mean that Antarctica also got a vote? Who lives there apart from penguins? Are we being led a penguin president for twenty years?"
Mantis knocked on Alix’s head with her knuckles. She didn’t know if there was any common sense in there apart from musical genius. Had she ever seen a penguin president anywhere?
"Ouch." Alix sulked and rubbed the sore spot where she had been hit.
Mantis cared less about the sore spot and more about the emergency they had. The election of the new world system bureau president was only a year away. If Alix was interested, they had to overturn things in only months and it was so little time.
Taking back power from the seven families was not going to be a walk in the park.
"You hit me." Alix pinched her arm.
Mantis winced and groaned threateningly, glaring at her friend.
"Because you are dumb and i just realized that i need to get you a very good secretary, political aides and a whole bunch of publicists to make you look like our new savior.
The seven families will not sit back and watch you ruin them, they will try to paint you as the new Genesis. You need to curb your claws and temper for a while to prove that you are a badass with heart of gold. On the other hand, good news is that you have incapacitated the Heinrich family, one of the seven families.
Let’s return tonight, find their banking details and take all of their wealth. Without money, they will lose their fangs."
"No need, i already got all their money." Alix replied proudly.
She did not know how important the Heinrich family was in the bureau. This was the first time she was hearing about them being one of the seven families, No wonder their security had been so tight, any house that had to be guarded by armed snipers and hundreds of cameras and dogs was not easy to get into.
Her system had been busy hacking when they were discussing what they wanted to do with her. All of those phones and laptops which had been left out casually in the meadow, it penetrated them and stole their banking details.
At the moment, money was still being transferred into her own secret account and the system was already feasting on the two system hosts she was not going to give to her family members.
Thinking about the system hosts that the Heinrich family had got her wondering for a second. She put her phone down and shot Mantis a puzzled glance.
"Wait, were the presidents from the Heinrich family human too?"
Mantis nodded. Both of then checked their phones and discovered that the last world president of the bureau was Josef Heinrich, the old man that had targeted her in the first place."
Alix scoffed, no wonder he had been acting all powerful and mighty and everyone in the family was looking at him with reverence like he was a small god or something. Come to think of it, he was the only one they tried to sneak away from the compound surrounded by guards.
"That family had five system hosts but a human was chosen as president, what gives? I smell something here Mantis, a conspiracy. There must be more to this than we all know. We need to investigate, do you know a good detective?"
Alix waited for Mantis to answer.
"Abby Chung, a system host with some kind of detective system. If we give him the facts and he sniffs around a little, i am certain that he will have answers for us. The only problem we have is that we don’t know who he is loyal to. I will talk to the captain about it. Tell me about the money, how did you get and....’
Alix squealed and jumped up suddenly, running away from Mantis with excitement all over her face. She leaped over three people like a participant in the long jump Olympics competition and threw herself into Caishen’s arms.
