The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system-Chapter 520: A dragon on a break.
Chapter 520: A dragon on a break.
Alix was driven straight to the main home of the Heinrich family, to the castle that Bo had talked about. The cars did not stop for a single second for any reason and the journey was two hours long.
When they finally stopped and the door was opened, Alix stepped out of the car and found herself in an open meadow, next to a forest. The meadow was not empty there were two large tents which were all filled with people that were making merry. The music, meat being barbecued, endless wine, horses, dogs and the open trunks of weapons everywhere reminded Alix of a scene from a movie__, a movie where a king and his men went hunting for a beast in a forest that was killing the villagers.
After the stories she had heard from Mantis and other system hosts about the things that were done to them, she could figure out what this was, it was a hunting party, the members of this family were royalty and she was the beast.
The weapons were very real and once used, they would cause real pain and she would bleed real blood. From somewhere above inside the castle, someone blew a horn and the people in the tents started to move. They left whatever they were doing and came out to the soft grass of the meadow.
Most of their eyes fell on a single person, Alix, and they were looking at her with these indescribable looks on their faces. If there was a word to describe it, Alix would call it lunacy or maybe it was starvation. Their eyes were gleaming and they were looking at her like she was a fatty piece of meat they couldn’t wait to devour.
She felt chills running up her spine as she imagined what they had in store for her. It was nothing good, they wanted pieces of her flesh clearly.
A distinguished old man in a wheel chair was escorted in by armored guards, dressed in similar outfits to the ones that were standing to both of her sides.
Behind the escorts, four maids followed, pushing a trolley with a six tiered cake. Despite the unfavorable situation that Alix found herself in, her stomach rose to the occasion to remind her that it had not been fed for two hours. She could smell cinnamon and nutmeg from the cake. Her nostrils flared as she took in the smell of ginger, cloves and other spices, a spice cake, she judged. She had not eaten a spice cake in a very long time. Again, her stomach complained and she licked her bottom lip.
A decision was made immediately, she was going to eat some of that cake, maybe all of it. These lunatics did not deserve it anyway.
The man that had brought her to this castle pushed her towards the old man in the wheelchair and he only stopped when she was directly in front of him. He spoke in German but Alix understood every word thanks to her system.
"I have brought the fire drake as you requested grandfather, she is the dragon from the East, their strongest and most divine beast morpher."
"Is she the one that has been bringing us trouble?" the old man asked in a broken whisper like voice.
"It is her, but everything has been sorted out. The bureau has ruled in our favor with a few minor changes. I brought her to you as soon possible for your entertainment, it’s my gift to you for your birthday. Have i done well grandfather?"
The old man smiled. "You have done well Brandt. Tell everyone to gather their weapons and get the dogs ready. We should begin the hunt before the sun sets and do not forget to put something in her drink to weaken her. There are other uses for her after the hunt, doctor Greta wants some blood and scales, Wilhelm would like to sample her in another way, in her dragon form."
Brandt, the man that brought her chuckled and so did some of the other men in black.
The old man smiled broadly, thinking that Alix had not understood the perverted meaning of his last statement. He was escorted to the largest tent and Alix was encouraged to follow. She walked on like a clueless doll and she was led to the cake.
"Blow out the candle." The man told her.
Alix laughed lightly and put Majesty on the ground. She took off his mittens and stood up. She used one of her fingers to swipe at the sweet butter cream on the cake and tasted it. The taste was really superb, confirming her theory that it would be one of the best cakes she would ever taste in her life. Yeah, she was definitely taking the whole cake with her.
Ignoring the shocked gasps of her hosts, she smiled at the man.
"No, i won’t be blowing out any candles or morphing into a dragon. You see, this dragon is on a break. I have been morphing a little too much lately that it bores me now." she replied.
The man glared at her, filled with so much anger suddenly that he grabbed a gun from the waistband of one of the guards in black and pointed it at her head.
"Have you forgotten that your life is in our hands?" he questioned.
"You wouldn’t shoot another country’s system host, it will be disaster for you. You will have to give up at least half of your family wealth to compensate the bureau which will no doubt make my death a big deal."
She pointed up at the unending birds that kept flying by. "I bet all those are watchers from your country and mine. I also happen to be the wife to one of the richest men not just in my country but the world. Do you really think he will sit back quietly after you kill me?"
"That is why we have not touched him and his family but you are different, your brothers....." he started.
Alix raised a hand and wagged her finger. "About that, did you really think that i left home without making preparations to ensure their safety? Go on and make your move, i dare you. Let me share this in advance, all your people are already dead and none of them will be returning home. I bet their bodies are already cold as we speak.
You see, Mr. Brandt, i came to your country with a purpose. I also let you find me deliberately and i allowed you to think that you had this leverage and power over me. It is not easy scaling the walls of this great castle, the security here is extremely tight. If I came in using my dragon form everyone would know and some of you would escape.
I wanted to pay you all a visit without coming off as the aggressor and who better to bring me in than a member of your family? Now ask yourself, why would she allow herself to be captured and brought into this castle without so much as a struggle or plea?" She put her fingers on her chin and laughed. "It’s not me that should be scared Brandt, it’s all of you. "
