The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system-Chapter 515: System talk with the Tai’s.
Chapter 515: System talk with the Tai’s.
"He is one, isn’t he?" Tai Fong asked Alix.
Since she was the only known resident system host, everyone turned to her with expectant eyes. Was it false or true?
She nodded, confirming without saying a single word that he was one indeed.
"Oh my God!!" Tai Ho Sun exclaimed. "I have watched so many of his interviews in which he says he made his wealth through stocks. He has been labeled a business genius world wide and this whole time he has a system helping him make money. How does that even work?"
Alix shrugged and shook her head. She didn’t have the specifics of Wukong’s system because she had not met the man yet.
Chairman Tai leaned forward with a serious expression on his face like he had been thinking long and hard about things. "If people find out about him they will hate him because to many it will come off as unfair, like he is cheating."
His analysis was the same thing Alix thought when she heard about Wukong’s system. Not just him but her as well and every other system host, people would hate them if they learned about them.
Some would become fans, some would be envious, others would treat them like idols but majority would hate them because having a system was a cheat and nobody liked a cheater.
People would only like system hosts if they were heroes saving the world from external or internal attacks. It would take chaos to buy love and acceptance.
"That’s why people cannot know about us. It will start out well and good with everyone fascinated but then all sorts of hate groups will rise up attributing every misfortune and crime in the world to us. In no time, they will start calling for our imprisonment, death or things like that." Alix frowned.
Caishen took her hand and squeezed it but he maintained his gaze on the Tai’s because what they were discussing was important.
The Tai’s needed to understand the importance of keeping everything to do with system hosts a secret, especially elder Tai whose mouth sometimes run faster than his legs.
"A system host made me do it defense will become common, especially if they find out that some can hypnotize you into acting against your will like Lai Yanfang used to do to those that worked for her. If it is ever known just how many people she killed, it will be even worse."
"Everyone that kills someone will claim they were hypnotized and unaware of their actions." Tai Ho Sung concluded.
"They will round us up like aliens and treat us like villains." Alix couldn’t help sharing her worry. One that she had thought about many times.
The more they talked, the more worry grandpa Tai’s heart was filled with. All this system hosts and special talk with the prosecutor general had excited him so much that he didn’t consider the dangers of being a system host.
"Did they tell you about the dark side?" Caishen raised another important matter.
They all shook their heads so Caishen and Alix went ahead to fill them in on that side of the coin as well. By the time they were finished, every face was unhappy.
"So they want to make us slaves to work and worship them." Tai Fong inquired.
Alix nodded firmly. Caishen realized that the atmosphere was becoming more and more grim so he stepped in to reassure them.
"But system hosts have been around for many years, thousands according to the bureau website. There will always be a nut job like the one leading the dark side, one that wants ultimate power.
I have reached the part of the history of systems were they discuss those system hosts, what their systems were and how they were stopped.
They are no different from corrupt human politicians that want money and power and will do anything to get it. We have seen such people being arrested on the news, a perfect example is deputy minister Wei Shan, he is human but he did so many evil things. System host or ordinary human, an evil person will be evil.
So, don’t spend your nights sleepless, worrying about this issue. Our lives should not come to a stand still because of it." he assured them.
Tai Ho Sun took it from them, addressing his grandparents, "Brother-in-law is right, how many gangs, wars, terrorists and the like do we see on the news or reports on violence, killers, whispers of the economy crushing or epidemics." fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓
"A lot." Tai Jiaan hoped in to answer a question which did not really need an answer.
The world had other problems other than system hosts.
"Keep in mind that we outnumber system hosts." Tai Dalian added.
Everyone nodded. Sometimes, the side with the higher number of people won the fight.
Slowly by slowly, with everyone contributing to the conversation, they convinced themselves that a small group of system hosts operating in the dark because an equally powerful organization around the round was hunting for them was not reason enough to pack up and run. Where would they run to anyway?
An underground war that had been fought for thousands of years could go on for far longer. Perhaps this event would not even come to pass during their lifetimes. Grandpa Tai still cautioned them as the head of the family.
"The subject to do with your sister’s special abilities, do not share it with your wives or friends. Even the younger children, your sons, don’t let this leak out to anyone. Alix, do your friends know?"
She shook her head. It had not even crossed her mind to share the secret with them. Why give them a big burden they didn’t need?
"Good, do not tell them anything. I know that you trust them with your life and secrets but this is something else that involves the government and danger. It’s better for them to continue living blindly but happily."
"Yes grandfather." Alix responded politely.
The elder turned to Caishen. "What about you young Zhang, who have you told?"
"No one, with the exception of my family that was brought into the fold by the prosecutor general. I also agree that the young ones should be kept out of the loop for as long as possible and that’s why we have not told the boys. The less that people know, the better."
"Very wise of you."
For the first time since becoming Alix’s grandfather, the elder looked at Caishen with approval.
After giving out a few more instructions, they brought the system talk to a close. Tai Ho Sun opened the rucksack that he had dragged over and poured out all the dragon plushies and onesies he and their parents had found.
"It looks like we have a new favorite toy and lucky mascot in the family." he laughed.
Grandpa Tai held up the blue dragon plushie which was closest to Alix in appearance. "Ho Sun, design one that looks like your sister in dragon form and have it made at a good shop. I should start preparing for the arrival of my little cute dragon great granddaughter."
Within a heartbeat, the Tai’s were all distracted and wondering whether Alix would have a baby or an egg.
Alix was confused about why everyone was talking as if she was suddenly pregnant.
"Sister, please have an egg, i want to see something. " Tai Jiaan pleaded.
"That’s not how it works." Caishen muttered.
But in order not to get another black mark, he kept the facts to himself.
