The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system-Chapter 513: The prettiest dragon in the world.
Chapter 513: The prettiest dragon in the world.
Tai Dalian chuckled in Caishen’s face and licked a spoon he was using to eat ice cream.
"Open door policy brother-in-law, that’s what our sister said."
Tai Ho Sun put an arm around Caishen, acting in a brotherly manner like they were so close. "We do this to make our sister comfortable. If we act tentative and keep her at a distance, she will never blend into the family, trust us or accept us fully. When we do this however, she feels comfortable talking to us, accepting our gifts, asking us for spending money without holding back and being free around us."
"I do it for the food." Tai Fong shared.
"Except him, he is an idiot." Tai Ho Sun shared. "But like we were saying, we do this for the happiness of our family. Now it’s your turn to talk, how long have you known about her special abilities?"
Tai Dishi stepped in front of Caishen and stared at him pointedly. "Is that why you married her? Were you and your family looking to use her?"
"Of course not." Caishen burst out loudly. "That’s ridiculous, i didn’t even know until she came out and told me about it and that was only because we were under attack."
Tai Ho Sun raised his brows curiously, "You were attacked."
"Who attacked you?" Tai Jiaan asked.
"Why did they attack you?" Tai Dishi questioned.
"How did you survive the attack?"
"When was this?
"Why weren’t we informed? This concerns the safety of our sister." free𝑤ebnovel.com
Caishen moaned in exhaustion, "Oh my God, stop it, all of you. What is this, a game of ninety nine questions?"
They were driving him crazy, like they always did when he was around them. Dealing with them was sometimes similar to dealing with toddlers and he lacked the patience of a teacher.
"I came to get some refreshments for the elders and..."
He couldn’t get the rest of the words out because a loud annoying Tai Jiaan decided to tattle tale unnecessarily.
"Grandpa, brother-in-law has said they were attacked but he doesn’t want to share the details."
The teenage boy went off undisturbed to deliver the news as if he was sharing something great. Caishen looked at the older Tai brothers and he sighed.
"You are all so annoying."
They shrugged and continued helping themselves to things to eat from his pantry so shamelessly. Indeed, they had come on empty stomachs. Food often tasted better at Alix’s house so when they were coming over, they always saved room in their bellies.
"So, who attacked you?" Tai Ho Sun asked, rising the almost dead subject.
"And how is it related to our sister?" Tai Dalian asked what he deemed more important.
Tai Fong squinted at Caishen and pointed a spoon at him. "It was your fault, wasn’t it? Our sister is too simple minded to go around making enemies?"
All the brothers nodded in agreement like sheep. Alix was so nice, kind and without greed, simply put, she was an angel.
Caishen scoffed, these brothers were just as blind as their grandfather. Had they so quickly forgotten her fiery temper, the people she had punched, some few anti fans that she had gathered. Not to forget those whose names she mispronounced and her latest attack on minister Wei. In fact, she had more enemies than everyone in the house combined.
The Tai family however didn’t seem to see Alix’s faults. He still remembered her mother auntie Mo turning things around and claiming blatantly that Jing Hee had tried to push Alix into a passing car. As a matter of fact, she was sharing it so comfortably now as if it was gospel truth when it was the other way round in reality.
"Simple minded, Alix. You must all be drinking from the same fountain of turning black to white in your family."
He laughed after saying that because he remembered the incident in his office when Alix claimed Rui Ka Kui had tripped over a computer cable.
"She fits in just right with them." he muttered.
"Talk louder, who fits in right where?" Tai Ho Sun asked.
Caishen shook his head. "Nothing, anyway, if you want to know more about that attack just ask your sister for answers."
He got some glasses and wine. The things they were going to discuss didn’t need tea for it would run cold. Juice was not strong enough but wine could accomplish the job.
Tai Ho Sun took the glasses and Tai Fong took the wine. Dalian and Dishi grabbed a bottle of rum.
Dalian grabbed another and some chocolates. "We are going to need something stronger than wine. It’s not everyday that you learn about your sister having a system and turning into a dragon."
"Chocolate, really!" Dishi couldn’t believe him.
Dalian shrugged. "It’s either this or a cigar and you know Alix doesn’t like the smoke."
Dishi giggled silly. "Isn’t it silly that she hates smoke but dragons breathe fire. There is no fire without smoke."
"That’s not what it means." Dalian told him.
Grabbing another tin of ice cream Dishi replied, "I know. I am just making a comparison, or making an ironic observation."
He kicked the fridge door shut as all of his hands were fully occupied. "I am not going to believe any of this shit until i see it for myself."
"Don’t curse in this house, if you can’t help it...." Dalia turned back to remind his brother.
"I know, i know, fruit is the word." Dishi rolled his eyes slightly.
They were the last two to arrive in the living room and Dishi’s need for proof was satisfied immediately because Alix had already morphed into a full dragon. For the comfort of everyone, she chose the baby dragon size. Auntie Mo was practically crooning to her as if she was a child.
"You are the prettiest dragon in the world." she caressed Alix the dragon’s head.
She was sitting on the pink pillow which grandpa Tai had used to hit Caishen earlier and everyone’s attention was on her.
"Is it a dragon or a lizard?" Dishi blurted out.
Many disapproving eyes shot him glares that warned him to shut up immediately.
"Whose granddaughter are you calling a lizard?" Grandpa Tai asked in a raised voice. "Hmph, you are the one who looks like a lizard."
Dishi’s mouth fell open. He wanted to tell his grandfather that there was no need for violence, verbal or physical. He just asked the question because she was so small and almost lizard like.
"Ignore him Alix, he has never seen a dragon before. You have pretty colors and the shiniest scales like a royal dragon. " Tai Ho Sun comforted his beloved dragon sister.
Caishen scoffed and muttered, "Like as if you have seen any real dragon before."
He was sitting in the corner chair, completely ignored because he was not the star of the show. He was using this time to roll his eyes, mutter and laugh while sipping wine slowly.
"She is a royal dragon of course and she got her scales from me. She takes after me in every way, even the blue color you see, it is just like mine." Grandpa Tai boasted.
Caishen almost choked on the wine. She takes after him!!! he had never heard something so ridiculous in his life. He could understand the claims when Alix was in human form but in dragon form it was impossible because the elder was not a system host or a natural born dragon. He did not even have a drop of dragon blood in him. Did the old man have a bottom line when it came to boasting?
