The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system-Chapter 320: Two mamas, one chick
The line about seven fingers resulted in a lot of heavier frowns from the occupants of the table. All of them were familiar with Alix’s past condition so they had a clue what seven fingered Alix meant.
Mo Qilu was the quickest to react. She banged her fist on the table, causing the cutlery which was sitting on the desert plates to make a little sound.
A wine glass almost toppled over but Dalian was quick to catch it. He kept the fingers in his mind crossed, hoping that his aunt with her quick temper did not jump up and make a scene. This was not the appropriate venue for it.
Two more people joined them, Jin Kang and Holea. The two didn’t even bother trading greetings and they stood on both sides of Yu Xi confronting her immediately.
"Didn’t i tell you to leave?" Jin Kang hissed at her a little louder than she intended.
Holea didn’t say a word but instead put her hand on the back of Yu Xi’s neck in what appeared to be a friendly gesture. In reality, she was applying a little pressure and causing some pain.
"Get out." Jin Kang said.
A few guests close to them heard her angry voice and they started to pay attention to them.
"Jin Kang use your inner voice." Holea said steely.
The fact that two of Alix’s friends had come here to remove Yu Xi from Alix’s presence was another tell of what she had possibly suffered in high school.
"Let’s go." Holea said coldly.
She didn’t give Yu Xi a chance to say anything and turned her around forcefully. Through gritted teeth she told her. "Make sure that you smile and walk out naturally or else i will shove your head into one of these tables and pretend that you tripped. So, if you don’t want a broken nose and teeth, just leave obediently while i am being nice."
In a hoarse shaky voice, Yu Ki whispered, "I just wanted to apologize."
"And you thought this was the best place for it? Were you trying to apologize or ambush her? Don’t piss me off anymore than i am already. If my mood worsens i will do something worse and humiliate you." Holea shoved her forward and stood in one place, gesturing at her to get out.
Holea never said something she didn’t mean. If she said she would break your nose, she broke it. If she promised you a beating, you would receive one.
Yu Xi smiled and hastened her steps, she almost tripped over the foot of one of the waiters as she hurried to leave before making a fool of herself in front of all the important guests.
Back at the table meanwhile, Jin Kang was still in quite the mood, and making it clear just how displeased she was.
"That crazy Yu Ki, how could she just walk up to you? I told her to stay away from you. She is so shameless showing her face...."
Alix understood where the anger that was fueling Jin Kang’s anger was coming from but this was neither the time nor the place.
She looked at her friend and shook her head, "Jin Jin, stop."
Jin Kang moved her purse from her right hand to her left and grabbed a glass of wine from the table. "How can i stop? Ha!!, i am so furious that it took all of my strength not to kick her in the face when i saw her earlier."
She gulped the wine down, ignorant of the fact that it was Dalian’s wine.
"Jin Jin," Alix, called her friend again.
"Relax."
In the meantime, Mo Qilu was fussing over Alix, moving her hands over her arm and rubbing her back gently. She had been doing so ever since Yu Xi turned up and Alix’s mood changed.
"Are you okay pretty baby?"
"I am okay mother, but i think i am ready to leave." She looked around and then looked at her husband.
"Are you okay?" he mouthed at her.
She nodded and smiled.
"Home." she mouthed out at him.
He nodded.
Caishen turned to his cousin and said, "Lexian, you ought to choose better business partners or else the consequences of partnering with the wrong person might affect your business."
Lexian had been standing there, lost and feeling confused. "I apologize, i didn’t know about all this. I really did make your identity clear to her."
She looked at Alix with a guilty expression on her face.
Alix shook her head and put on an unbothered expression. She said to Lexian, "It’s okay, seeing her just brought up some ugly memories. It’s not fault if you didn’t know the full story. Anyway, i am okay."
"I have to go and handle some issues, excuse me everyone."
Lexian walked away, heading in the direction of the exist. From the look on her face, she was going to confront Yu Xi.
"Here, drink some water." Mo Qilu handed Alix a bottle of water.
Alix didn’t get to drink the water because the bottle was snatched out of her hands by someone else, Holea, who had just returned.
She was standing behind Alix since that was the closest she could get to her.
"You are trembling." she said in her monotonous voice.
"It’s cold." Alix lied.
She knew that Holea was aware she was lying. Even Jin Kang knew that she was lying. They had been there to see what the name seven fingered Alix had done to her self esteem in high school.
It hadn’t stopped at the name calling. There had been posters made of her with an ogre face with seven fingers. Those posters had been put up in the class for others to look at and laugh. Yu Xi and two of her friends had treated her as if she was a monster.
If Holea didn’t beat them up badly outside school on three different occasions, they would not have stopped.
Holea didn’t answer and instead, took a candy out of her bag unwrapped it and handed it Alix.
"Eat."
Alix didn’t argue and she put the candy in her mouth.
"Here, hold these." Holea bent over, and stuffed two hand warmers into both of Alix’s hands. fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com
She almost shoved Majesty away because Alix had been petting him.
Two people at the table were feeling lost while Holea took care of Alix in a way that seemed to be so familiar, as if she had done this many times before. One was her husband who was feeling useless because he had no idea how to help and two was Mo Qilu that was wondering why Holea was more like the mother here.
She recalled that she too had candy in her bag and she brought out three strawberry candy drops.
"Eat." she mimicked Holea’s tone.
"It has to be lemon." Holea said.
"What’s wrong with strawberry?" Mo Qilu asked her.
"Too sweet." Holea said.
"But she likes sweet things." Mo Qilu replied.
Holea shook her head and she said again in her dull voice a bit sterner, "It has to be lemon."
The aura the two were giving off was very weird. Jin Kang couldn’t help thinking that they were like two mother hens fighting for one chick.
