The first thing she did when she opened her eyes was check her phone. She was expecting feedback on whether she had passed the first stage of the violin competition or not.

As expected, she had passed. She folded a fist and said in a whisper, "Yes, yes, yes."

Quickly, her eyes perused through the instructions for the next stage of the competition. When she was finished with that, she called Caishen’s phone. freeωebnovēl.c૦m

He had stayed back in the office for work and his side of the bed was somewhat cold.

While she waited for a response, her eyes perused the rankings of the game. She was in first place, with seventy two kills more than Dark death who was now in second place.

The highlights of her multiple kill heroic moment were being shared on the gaming forum.

"Your strategy is going to be copied by other players." The system told her.

"It is to be expected." she answered. "But if the game developers are wise, they have already found a way to prevent that from happening."

"Like i said, you have become wiser." The system praised. "I was wise to add...."

She rolled her eyes and tuned it out.

"Hello, Alix...." Caishen’s voice came into her ears. It was low and rough, giving of an energy of exhaustion.

She frowned and asked, "Did you not get any sleep at all? You sound tired."

"Well, i had a lot on my mind." he admitted. "There is a lot of work that needs to be done before i leave for the building and construction exhibition in Shanghai next week."

To her, it sounded like he had a lot of work to do indeed. There was that audit which was taking up most of his time and now an exhibition. Not forgetting the daily meetings, design time and other things.

"You should not push yourself, remember that you are still in recovery." she told him.

"Hmmm." he responded.

"It’s morning, you should get something to eat first. Should i tell nanny Wang to prepare some food and send it over?"

Alix threw the bed cover off her body and got up slowly. Her feet were already carrying her out of the bedroom before he could even respond with a yes or no.

"Thank you but it’s not necessary. Biming is picking up breakfast from your aunt Sen’s place."

Her hand was already on the door handle, half way through turning it. When she heard that he had ordered for breakfast she took her hand off.

"Meow!" Majesty protested and Baby was not too far off. While she couldn’t understand Baby, she understood Majesty clearly.

"Alix open the door, some of us are actually hungry and have work to get to."

She scowled at the cat but did as it desired. Watching it’s furry golden butt as it walked away arrogantly she wondered what it meant by it’s statement. It had work to get to! What about her then, did she look like an unemployed person?

Baby was sweeter than Majesty. She rubbed her furry head against Alix’s legs before running off.

"How was your night? Did you miss me?" She heard Caishen ask on the other end of the call.

"Huh, crazy. Who missed you?" she replied.

If he had been there with her, he would have noticed the smile on her face as she replied pretentiously. She had missed him indeed. Cuddling a stuffed owl was not the same as cuddling his warm nice smelling body.

"I am disappointed." he answered. "Here i was hoping that you spent a listless night without my reassuring presence by your side. I missed you, sister hulk."

"You..." she whispered bashfully.

"It was a lonely cold night for me on this blinding orange couch. All i had to keep me sane was the smell of your perfume which you left behind. You should come by more often and sleep on it so that it soaks up intoxicating your smell permanently."

Alix didn’t even realize that she was swinging her body from side to side and blushing the more that Caishen talked.

"I want a personalized Alix plushie." he said.

She giggled and rolled her eyes. "Crazy." she said softly. "You already have the real thing, you don’t need a plushie."

"Mmmm." he responded. " Huh, i have no choice but to endure loneliness as i work hard as the head of the family to feed my sister hulk, our fish, birds, cats and the teenagers we are going to raise."

"We don’t eat that much." she mumbled.

"Have you ever seen teenage boys eat?" he asked her.

Alix nodded, even though he could not see the nod. She had seen Yuewei, Wei and Gang eating. Now that she thought about it, there had been no let overs at the table during dinner the previous night.

"Zhang An told me that you are passing by my mother’s house today morning. I know you will want to go with gifts. How much do you need?" he asked, out o the blue.

"I will use my own money." she replied.

"My money is your money," he told her. "Don’t even argue about it, i am already sending the money into your account. Oh, i have good news that will bring a smile to your face. Your rare earth mineral map is really real. The lawyers are wrapping up purchase of the land and i have a buyer in mind. I everything works out, you could be a billionaire next week."

Her heart skipped a beat and she felt an actual strain in her chest that caused her a little pain.

"Bi..bill..bi..." she stammered.

"I have to go now Alix. We will discuss this in detail tonight." he spoke a bit hastily and ended the call on his end.

Alix had hardly processed the information as she was still in shock when her system started budgeting for the money.

"Five hundred million should go into the game, three hundred should go into expanding the school and two hundred can launch another business for you. I have been thinking that instead of getting a factory to produce your own skin care products, just sell what you get from the game directly. Buy finished products from the different gaming worlds and shop for cheap items in the virtual network then slap your own trademark on them and sell."

"Wait..." she said. She needed to take a breather and think about the money.

Maybe the system didn’t understand what the words billionaire meant.

The system elf didn’t care about that apparently because it had a business plan, expenses that would be involved and the perfect location and all were on the virtual screen.

"This ten storied building opposite your school which your husband purchased is a perfect place to set up shop. Half of it is already empty so i suggest that you just kick everyone out and utilize the building. Make it your own extraterrestrial shopping mall."

"Huh!" Alix frowned and kind of stood where she was in a daze.

"I was too quick to praise your intelligence. Why do you look confused right now?" it asked her.

She scratched her hair. No matter how much she tried, her mind was a little blank. She refused to be drawn in by premature excitement however. Until that money sat in her account, all of this was just theoretical. "I can’t think right now. I need a dog, no, two dogs. Get me two baby dogs."
