The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system-Chapter 296: Run!, says the bracelet
An hour later, Alix walked out of large mall that housed a pet store with two puppies in a bag that were asleep. She didn’t buy the puppies from the pet store, but got them from the first level of the game, in the same town where she got Caishen’s cat, Baby.
Along with the puppies, she got some fruit, flowers and home scents of different types.
Bi Cang placed some of the items in the trunk of the car while Alix put a few in the back.
"Dog toilet." she was about to sit when she remembered something that she had missed and she alighted from the car quickly.
Meow, meow, meow...., Majesty protested.
"Alix, who do you expected to take care of these tiny stinky dogs? Better take them with you."
The bag was open and the two puppies were sniffing with their heads sticking out. Small cries of hunger were coming from them. She planned to feed them as soon as she arrived at Yura’s place.
Majesty was staring at them as if they were the worst thing he had ever seen.
"Did i ask you to take care of them?" she replied sarcastically.
"What young madam?" Uncle Ju asked.
She tapped Majesty two times on the nose. He was a selfish kitty.
"Nothing, i am talking to Majesty. He is unhappy that i have brought puppies into the car. Uncle Ju, keep an eye on the puppies. I am going to buy that doggy toilet."
"Of course, young madam." Uncle Ju turned his entire body to the back and smiled at the puppies with sweetness in his eyes. They were so small and adorable. He was sucker for small adorable creatures.
Alix meanwhile had only taken two steps when she paused. The bracelet on her arm was burning hot, warning her that danger was coming her way. She didn’t know if she should walk forward or backwards.
The car was parked in the underground parking of the shopping mall. A place like this hardly had any noise as all that was around were empty cars. Somehow, in that moment the silence made it spooky as if she was standing in the middle of a graveyard at midnight.
A car alarm went off in the distance and her turned turned speedily. The beating of her heart escalated and her eyes narrowed.
"Bi Cang." she called hastily. He was still standing behind the trunk, taking items out of the trolley which Alix had picked up from different shops.
"Yes madam," he responded casually.
"Something is wrong." she said. "Get in the car, we should leave right now."
She didn’t know what was wrong but the bracelet was burning a little too hot for her liking. Whatever bad luck it was fighting off had to be stronger than the usual small things. Every bead was giving off heat, practically burning her skin.
Her hands felt tingly and her body cold. This was not the kind of coldness she could blame on the weather because she was wearing a jacket from the game which was keeping her warm as if she was in the summer where others were experiencing winter.
Alix shivered a bit and dove into the car at the same time as Bi Cang who abandoned the rest of the items which she had purchased.
Uncle Ju and Bi Cang were on alert and the driver’s aura changed. As if he had flipped a switch, he rapidly drove the car like an expert speed racer and took them out of the underground parking.
"System." Alix whispered.
"I have scanned your surroundings and found five men hiding inside this car. They are all armed with weapons and knives. One of them is carrying a hunting gun. I have hacked into the cameras of the underground parking and you will have their identities as soon as possible."
She could hear Bi Cang on the phone informing Mo Sen about the possible danger and requesting for extra security for her.
"And the boys, bodyguards for each and an escort car." she said in a raised voice.
Bi Cang nodded and added her instructions. He had no idea what had spooked the young madam but he trusted his instincts. The moment she alerted him to something being off, he got the feeling that she was right. Suddenly, he had sensed eyes on them.
"Are we being followed?" he asked uncle Ju.
Uncle Ju looked at the side mirror and shook his head. "No, but even if we were, i would have lost them by now."
Alix was still having her conversation with the system. "Is it Billi? I asked you to keep an eye on her. It’ must be her or her evil mother."
"Or your husbands ex-girlfriend that plotted his accident." The system blurted out. Then, on the virtual screen, the blue elf covered it’s mouth.
Alix gritted her teeth and anger filled her veins. Caishen’s ex-girlfriend!!. No wonder he didn’t want to discuss the accident. Wait, did he know about her already? And why would Caishen’s ex-girlfriend be targeting her?
Was this one of those cliché incidents were the jealous ex-girlfriend of the rich guy was trying to kill the new wife? She had many questions, a whole book full of questions that needed answers.
She also couldn’t dismiss Billi and Jing Hee’s involvement. For all she knew, it could be one of them still and not this mystery girlfriend.
"Hands off, tell me everything."
The system looked guilty and it looked away as it admitted a few truths that it hadn’t told her. "Well, your sister did ask someone to cut of your hands. The person she asked for help suggested killing you entirely but just as you want her alive to suffer, so does she desire. She wants you alive to witness her glory. So, she turned the suggestion down and maintained that you lose your hands so this probably isn’t her handiwork."
"What about Jing Hee?" she asked.
"Your stepmother is running around searching for your father’s old mistresses and Yuewei while planning Lin Billi’s career and how to take back the shares which the father you hate gave to you so generously. She has not made any moves to kill you in the meantime."
"Which leaves my husband’s ex-girlfriend." Alix scoffed.
The system elf nodded. "Unless you have other enemies that this system doesn’t know about then yes, Lai Yanfang, the rising popular modern contemporary painter who was once the great love of your husband’s teenage anf young adult life. Don’t worry i don’t think he loves her anymore seeing as to how she probably tried to have him killed and all."
"So why try to get rid of me?" she asked.
"Something probably set her off. What did you do?" It responded.
Alix huffed unhappily in deep disbelief. She didn’t even know this Lai Yanfang character so what could she have done to set her off?
The system decided to offer her some very disturbing advise which would remain in her mind for the rest of the day. "If it comes down to a case of survival for the fittest, just merge with your dragon and burn her to death. Dragon fire leaves behind nothing but ashes which will be carried away by the wind. Nobody will ever know that it’s you. If you think that it’s too cruel, bite her head off with dragon teeth or slice her neck open with dragon claws. Think of it as self defense."
