The Wolf of Los Angeles-Chapter 424: The Unsolvable Case
Chapter 424 - 424: The Unsolvable Case
[Chapter 424: The Unsolvable Case]
A red modern sedan pulled up to the side of the road. Jennifer Siebel turned off the engine, took out a specially modified purse, examined it carefully, and tossed the car keys inside.
She pulled down the sun visor, looked into the makeup mirror, and clipped on a decorative hairpin. This hairpin was also a specially made electronic device with a recording function.
In recent years, with the rapid development of flash memory and battery technology, audio and video recording devices had become increasingly compact.
Siebel double-checked to make sure everything was working properly, then grabbed her purse and stepped out of the car, clicking her high heels as she entered the hotel and took the elevator upstairs.
After stepping out of the elevator, she turned on the audio and video recording devices and knocked on a suite door.
...
When the door opened from the inside, Harvey appeared, wearing a bathrobe, his face full of flesh.
Siebel's expression was cold and frosty, not uttering a word.
Harvey, however, became interested and invited her in, picking up the script from the coffee table and tossing it to Siebel: "I called you over to discuss the lead role in this play."
Siebel took the script, placed her purse in a position where the camera could capture most of the room, and then sat down on the sofa opposite him.
Harvey plopped down beside her and reached out his hand.
Siebel blocked it: "I'm here to study the role and the script, Harvey, please don't do that."
Over these years, dozens of actresses had come to this room to study scripts, many of whom had experienced the same situation.
At first, they would refuse, but when the decision about the role was made, they would be quicker to submit than anyone.
At this moment, part of Siebel's mind was focused on the script and role, while another part recalled what Fiona had said.
To leave evidence because Harvey, this overweight man, was a classic case of someone who would deny everything once he pulled up his pants.
Harvey used the script and roles as bait.
Siebel knew what would happen when she came here, yet she still went and prepared to leave evidence.
Thus, she resisted lightly -- not too much to truly fight back, but enough to tempt Harvey to increase his force, so that during the struggle, some marks would inevitably be left.
"No, you can't do this," Siebel said repeatedly from the start, "Harvey, you can't do this, I don't agree!"
...
After it ended, Siebel grabbed a piece of clothing and ran into the bathroom. She wiped off the marks carefully with safety shorts she wore underneath and put the clothes back on.
When she finished dressing and came out, Harvey threw the script back to her: "I'll talk to the casting director on the production. Go home and patiently wait for the audition notice."
Siebel nodded firmly and put the script away.
On the smooth cover of the script, Harvey's fingerprints were still visible.
These Hollywood moguls had absolute control over star actors for decades. They had never considered exposure or consequences, being very careless in their actions.
Years later, some were exposed one after another: stories about Wonder Woman, Oscar-winning actresses, who all had to sleep their way to the top.
Some had to endure multiple auditions with several men at once.
Over the decades, the only change in Hollywood regarding this was moving the red sofas from audition rooms to private homes or hotel rooms.
...
Siebel tidied the script, grabbed her purse, and left the room.
As soon as the door closed, she quickened her pace, almost jogging into the elevator.
Back downstairs, she got into the car and fished out a transparent plastic folder, carefully placing the script inside.
She pulled out the latest Nokia phone and took continuous photos of the marks on her body and face, capturing all the evidence Harvey had left.
Only then did she start the car and headed back to her apartment in Westwood.
...
After reaching her apartment, Siebel took off the safety shorts, carefully stored them away.
The audio recorded by the hairpin recorder and the video recorded by the purse camera were all transferred to her computer. She watched the footage, listened to the audio again, and smiled.
Whenever she wanted, she could file a police report accusing Harvey Weinstein of assault.
Of course, she would not do so unless it was the last resort.
Once done, it meant she would never find standing in Hollywood again.
Siebel saved a copy on her computer and created a backup on a USB drive, which she stored together with the safety shorts.
But this was still not enough, after all, Harvey Weinstein was not an ordinary person.
...
Siebel thought of the organization she joined, pulled out her phone, searched for Fiona's number, and called her.
Once connected, her face changed instantly to a warm and enthusiastic demeanor, inviting Fiona out for coffee the next day.
Fiona agreed.
Siebel then called a few acquaintances in the Feminist Majority Foundation to inquire about Fiona's interests and preferences, planning to flatter the vice president.
She opened Twitter, ready to add Fiona as a friend, but noticed a news update.
...
Elin Nordegren and Tiger Woods had reached an out-of-court settlement on their divorce.
Elin was heavily pregnant, allowing fetal DNA testing through amniocentesis.
Two professional institutions confirmed the fetal DNA was a high match with Tiger Woods.
Woods paid Elin $115 million in property division and agreed to pay 20% of his annual income as child support after the baby was born.
A brand new female multi-millionaire was officially born.
Siebel had heard that Fiona assisted Elin in winning this case decisively.
This gave her even more confidence in the FMF and Fiona.
Although Woods's status was not on par with Harvey, women's rights groups naturally had the upper hand against men.

In October, Hawke returned to Washington.
Unlike previous times, Erica accompanied him on this trip.
With only a few days left before the Manhattan AI Project proposal, Hawke and Erica split up.
Erica went to check out new properties recommended by real estate agents to find a house suitable for both.
The source of this c𝐨ntent is freёnovelkiss.com.
...
Hawke first met with Twitter's major shareholders, discussing their operations. Then, accompanied by Elizabeth Carter and Hearst, they visited relevant White House officials and key figures from the budget committee.
If you're going to siphon billions, you might as well lower your stance a bit to avoid embarrassment.
...
Meanwhile, Peterson Strategic Consulting Firm hired a large number of professional marchers, obtaining permits to protest Russian theft of America's AI strategic secrets in areas around Capitol Hill, National Mall, and Pennsylvania Avenue.
Washington had many professional or semi-professional protesters who didn't care about positions; as long as paid well, they would hold opposing signs and slogans, marching to protest or support.
America had long turned this into a business.
...
Media outlets including Twitter, Wall Street Journal, Fox News, CNN, and CBS also heavily reported on the significance of the Manhattan AI Project and the espionage case involving Russia.
It was well known that politics and public opinion went hand in hand.
...
On October 10th, Hawke woke early and ate breakfast with a carefully dressed Erica in the hotel restaurant. They then met the shareholders and headed to Capitol Hill.
Outside, previously hired marchers held signs supporting Twitter and the Manhattan AI Project.
Elizabeth Carter was waiting at the entrance and waved as Hawke and the group got out of the car.
Hawke quickly walked up, and they entered the Capitol building together.
He asked, "Nothing has changed, right?"
Elizabeth replied, "Don't worry, we secured over seventy percent of the votes. Even if some change sides last minute, it won't affect the final outcome."
Hawke understood that no matter how thorough the work, politics was unpredictable. People changing sides overnight was not just a patented technique of Hillary Clinton.
So Twitter had worked hard from the start to gain as much support as possible.
That way, even if one or more factions switched allegiances, the chances of winning remained high.
Erica whispered, "Last night, Grandpa called some old friends again."
Hawke nodded slightly, "We're sticking to the plan."
They entered the budget committee meeting room and sat according to assigned seats.
...
Committee members gradually arrived. Hawke saw Hillary Clinton sitting expressionless on the podium.
Also on stage was Congressman Bonarson from California's 13th District, related to the Ferguson family.
The committee had 100 members; 87 were present, meeting the quorum requirements.
Before voting, the proposal team was given time to present and rally support.
Hawke represented Twitter, outlining their position and plan, confidently stating this was the most important technological project for America's tech industry in the next thirty years.
Indeed, in thirty years, Twitter's AI was expected to defeat all professional chess players.
The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy followed with sweeping praise.
Finally, lobbyist Elizabeth gave the closing remarks.
Several representatives asked symbolic questions, and then voting officially began.
As Hawke predicted, some changed sides and voted against the proposal.
However, Twitter had made thorough preparations.
When voting ended, Chairman Allen announced that the Manhattan AI Project passed the budget committee review with 58% of the vote!
The room erupted in applause.
Hawke first hugged Erica, then fist-bumped Peter Thiel, and celebrated with other shareholders.
The Manhattan AI Project was officially approved!
This meant that before the new year, the first $35 billion allocation would be deposited into a special account for Twitter's research and development.
The account would be subject to certain oversight procedures.
But America had had comprehensive response measures for decades. Even if the next president tried to intervene early, they couldn't stop the insiders from blatantly siphoning off federal fundings.
