Chapter 76: Chapter 76: Grilled Fish

Luna Sutton’s lips twitched hard. Just now, seeing the concern in the other’s eyes had touched her, but now all that emotion had vanished.

This man really doesn’t know how to talk.

She glanced at Corbin Crowley and saw that he had already stood up, his gaze surveying the surroundings, clearly assessing the situation here.

She also looked around.

She found that this seemed to be a valley, surrounded by towering cliffs with green vines climbing all over, looking full of life.

She and Corbin were currently by the riverside of the valley, where the waters of Umbraflow flowed out from a crack in a stone wall, forming a small waterfall, its rushing sound clearly audible in the otherwise silent valley.

The environment here was beautiful, like a secluded paradise forgotten by the world.

If she ignored the miserable state that she and Corbin were in, it was indeed a nice vacation destination.

Luna Sutton stood up and stretched her limbs; except for some swelling and bleeding on her right wrist, the rest of her body was unharmed.

Initially, she didn’t feel any pain, but now it suddenly hurt a little.

Knowing this was Quinn Morgan’s doing, a trace of coldness appeared in her eyes.

That damned female, not knowing if she fell to her death or was swept away by the waters of Umbraflow.

She quietly activated her ability to heal her wrist.

A green vine sprouted from her palm, accompanied by several leaves, emitting a gentle green glow as it lightly swept over her swollen and bleeding wrist.

She only felt a cool sensation on her wrist, and the intense pain immediately subsided; even the bleeding wound was healing visibly fast.

Her Wood Element Ability had already reached level 2, making it easy for her to heal simple wounds.

Corbin turned his head just in time to see her using her ability to heal herself, surprise flickering in his silver eyes.

Although he knew beforehand that her abilities were of the Wood Element healing type, seeing her use them to heal was a first.

And judging by the speed at which her wounds healed, it seemed quite impressive.

Though not very familiar with the Wood Element Ability, he knew a level 1 ability wouldn’t achieve such results.

He merely watched silently, not interrupting.

Until she finished healing, the swelling on her wrist disappeared, and the wound was healed without any sign of injury, before withdrawing her ability.

He then walked over and spoke coldly, "Your ability has upgraded?"

Luna Sutton lightly moved her wrist, which had recovered, and gave a soft "Mm," "Yeah, it upgraded to level 2 a while ago."

She didn’t hide her ability level, as this information would eventually become known to everyone.

Corbin’s silver eyes briefly showed a hint of appreciation, but his words were infuriating, "I didn’t expect you’re not so dumb after all."

Luna Sutton heard his infuriating words and rolled her eyes, thinking, would it kill him to compliment someone? He’s as stubborn as a rock.

She couldn’t be bothered to argue with him, so she casually swept her gaze over the river surface, noticing a variety of fish swimming inside.

There were some she recognized and some she didn’t, all colorful and very beautiful.

Suddenly, her eyes fixed on the silver fish winding inside.

Huh? Those silver fish swimming in the river look quite special."

Curious, she squatted down to observe the silver fish closely.

They were silver-white, crystal-clear, almost reflecting light, with long, ribbon-like tails, very beautiful.

She had never seen such fish before, not even in the apocalypse.

She reached into the water, unable to resist touching those silver fish, but before she could, they darted away swiftly.

"What kind of fish is this? So peculiar?"

Luna Sutton asked, pointing at the silver fish that had swum away.

Corbin, following her gaze, showed a rare instance of surprise, and explained, "These are very rare Silver Moon Tail Fish, inhabiting waters rich in Spiritual Energy. Their meat is delicious, with potent Spiritual Power, making them highly nourishing for Beastmen."

He hadn’t expected to encounter such rare Spirit Fish here.

Quite fortunate indeed.

"Silver Moon Tail Fish? Highly nourishing?" 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚

Luna Sutton was intrigued; whether it tasted good was secondary. Just knowing it was highly nourishing and rich in Spiritual Energy made it valuable.

Though not a Beastman, she still required plenty of Spiritual Power due to her ability training.

These Silver Moon Tail Fish were clearly beneficial for her as well.

Knowing they were valuable, she naturally wouldn’t miss out on them.

Her gaze fixed on the Silver Moon Tail Fish swimming in the river, she willed her mind and the vine in her palm flew out.

Quickly wrapping around them, she gave a pull and tossed several Silver Moon Tail Fish onto the riverbank.

Corbin stepped over, seeing the Silver Moon Tail Fish flapping wildly on the grass, feeling quite pleased.

The two of them gathered dry firewood and some tinder-like grass.

Luna Sutton began to start a fire through friction, and after some effort, managed to get the fire going.

The Silver Moon Tail Fish had already been cleaned and gutted by Corbin, skewered on sticks and set over the fire to roast.

Occasionally turning them a bit, the fish roasted to a golden-brown crisp.

"Wow, I never noticed, your cooking skills aren’t bad! Smells pretty good!"

Luna Sutton suddenly leaned over, smiling contentedly.

Corbin eyed her, frowning, shifting the roasted fish to the side, and watched her warily: "If you want to eat, roast your own, don’t eye my fish."

"Hehe, don’t be so stingy. I just want to see how your cooking skills are."

She cheekily grinned, reaching out to grab it.

Though her self-roasted fish tasted just as good, she just wanted to taste what the dog man had cooked.

Corbin’s agile form dodged her grasp, sneering, "If you want to eat, do it yourself, it’s not like you can’t roast."

With that, he sat back, focused on roasting his fish, ignoring her.

Luna Sutton, annoyed, pouted, "Next time, if you want something to eat, make it yourself too, don’t bother me."

Saying that, she skewered a Silver Moon Tail Fish on the fire.

Corbin’s action paused, remembering those tempting dishes she made, he wanted to hand her his roasted fish, but then felt doing so would hit his pride.

Just as he sighed in indecision.

Luna Sutton, having roasted her fish, began savoring it happilly.

The fish was crispy on the outside, tender inside, wafting an irresistible aroma, partnered with her delighted expression, it looked like an exquisite worldly treat.

Corbin, watching her relish it so much, frowned slightly, feeling his own fish lost its fragrance instantly.

Suddenly he regretted refusing her just now.

Now, seeing her enjoying while he struggled here.

Luna Sutton seemed to notice his gaze, looking up at him with a teasing smile, "Grilled fish is nothing. Red-braised bear paw, spicy rabbit head, aromatic crab, boiled meat slices, chopped pepper fish head, cola chicken wings..."

She named dish after dish with a cheerful grin while munching her grilled fish.

Can’t you let me have a taste? Now you’ll be craving for something you can’t have.

Corbin heard dumbfoundedly; these names he hadn’t even heard of, let alone eaten.

But he keenly understood these were all delicious.

Possibly even better than all the gourmet food he’d had.
