The Wicked Female Is Wild and Scheming, Living in a Love Battlefield Every Day-Chapter 75: If You’re Not Dead, Get Up Already
"Quinn Morgan, what are you doing?"
The other beastmen, seeing this, all glared angrily at Quinn Morgan.
Quinn Morgan didn’t expect his little act to be discovered by everyone. He panicked for a moment, but quickly composed himself and explained, "I didn’t do it on purpose, my foot slipped just now, and I accidentally kicked a small stone, who knew it would hit Corbin Crowley’s arm just right..."
The beastmen present furrowed their brows, looking skeptical, neither believing nor disbelieving.
A beastman couldn’t help but peek over at the bottomless cliff.
White mist enveloped, obstructing the view, and it was impossible to see the bottom of the cliff clearly.
Falling from such a height, it’s likely a dangerous fate.
"What should we do now?"
One of the beastmen asked, frowning and looking at everyone with a solemn expression.
If Quinn Morgan and Warwick Storm are dead, they’re just the ones the leader wants to capture back anyway.
But Luna Sutton is the leader’s daughter. If anything happens to her, no one can bear the responsibility.
And Corbin Crowley, he’s a strong figure of the younger generation in the tribe. If he just died here, what a pity it would be.
If the leader finds out, he will surely fly into a rage.
"Everyone scatter and see if there’s a path to the bottom of the cliff. We have to find out whether they’re alive or dead,"
The one who spoke was Finn Arcanus, tall and cold in appearance, at the Early Stage of the Fifth Rank. His true form is the Dark-wind Swiftwolf, and he usually gets along well with Corbin Crowley.
After speaking, his gaze fell on Quinn Morgan’s panicked face, with a hint of probing in his expression, and he added, "Quinn Morgan, stay here and watch."
Quinn Morgan was always jealous of Corbin Crowley, often suppressed due to being less powerful. It’s hard to believe he wasn’t intentional.
But without evidence, it’s awkward to say it out loud.
Upon hearing this, Quinn Morgan instantly knew he was being suspected.
His expression changed, and he hastily defended, "Finn Arcanus, what do you mean? Why leave me alone to guard here?"
Finn Arcanus glanced at him coldly, voice icy, "Because of your little action just now, we have to be cautious. If you’re unwilling, then go back to the tribe and let the leader decide."
Quinn Morgan was dumbfounded, frustrated but not daring to actually return to the tribe.
He knew that if he went back, the leader might not listen to his explanation and could even severely punish him.
Thinking of this, he could only swallow his resentment and grudgingly stayed by the edge of the cliff.
He originally wanted to go down and see if Corbin Crowley was dead.
If not, he would take the chance to finish off that bastard.
Even though everyone was from The Wolf Tribe, there was quite a bit of friction in private, and jealousy abounded.
The other beastmen didn’t originally think much of it, but with Finn Arcanus’s suggestion, they suddenly recalled that Quinn Morgan and Corbin Crowley didn’t seem to get along well usually.
So it became really hard to say whether Quinn Morgan acted intentionally just now.
Now, the way everyone looked at Quinn Morgan became strange, but no one said anything, each went off in search of the path to the cliff’s bottom.
Finn Arcanus also did the same, randomly choosing a direction to search.
Quinn Morgan stayed behind alone, looking displeased.
He silently prayed, hoping Corbin Crowley would be dead.
Otherwise, if that bastard survived and found out it was his doing, he would surely tear him apart later.
He couldn’t help but look over the seemingly bottomless cliff, thinking that even though Corbin Crowley was strong, and there was Umbraflow below...
But falling from such a high point, with such a massive impact, even if he didn’t die, he’d be crippled.
And who knows where the Umbraflow might have swept him off to.
Even if Finn Arcanus and the others found a way to the bottom, it probably wouldn’t be easy to find anyone.
With this thought, he felt much more at ease.
As for what to do when he returns to the tribe?
He’d just stick to the story that it wasn’t intentional, and even if the leader was unhappy, he wouldn’t have much to say, at most punish him a little.
...
Luna Sutton felt her body continually falling, the weightlessness causing her head to spin.
Fortunately, Quinn Morgan had let go during the fall and wasn’t holding her vine anymore.
Who knows where he’d fallen.
As for Corbin Crowley, she didn’t know where he was or if he had fallen as well.
In a panic, she swung the vine in her hand, quickly wrapping it around a crooked tree to stop her fall.
She counted her blessings, thinking she was close to crashing to her death.
Just as she was considering how to climb back up.
There was a "crack" from above.
A sense of dread filled Luna Sutton’s heart as she looked up.
The vine had only wrapped around a slender, dead branch of the crooked tree. It clearly couldn’t bear her weight, and snapped.
She was dismayed, silently cursing her misfortune.
"Ah—"
She let out a scream, too stunned for any reaction, as she plummeted straight into the dark river at the bottom of the cliff.
"Splash..."
Luna Sutton sank like a stone to the bottom of Umbraflow, sending up a large spray of water.
The waters of this Umbraflow were icy cold, chilling her to the bone.
She felt a buzzing in her head, and then...
Then there was nothing.
In reality, she can’t be blamed for being so bad off; falling from such a height, anyone would have fainted.
Even standing at the edge of the cliff looking down made legs go weak, let alone falling from above.
She felt like she had ridden a roller coaster without a safety belt; it was an unprecedented thrill.
The current in the river was swift, and she felt like a drift bottle, floating downstream with the flow.
Not knowing where she’d end up.
She didn’t know how much time passed.
Luna Sutton’s body was finally pushed by the current to a relatively calm spot.
The water flow was gentle here, causing her to slowly stop.
If she were conscious, she’d surely find this to be a beautiful place.
Moss and ferns grew on the rocks along the banks of the Umbraflow, lush and green.
The water was clear, revealing the occasional rare silver fish swimming by.
Sadly, she was still unconscious, unable to appreciate the rare beauty.
She lay quietly by the riverbank like a sleeping beauty, with no inkling of when she’d awaken.
Corbin Crowley was at the other side of the riverbank, also unconscious.
He had fallen into the Umbraflow just before Luna Sutton, but being a beastman with a robust physique, he hadn’t fainted right away.
However, he couldn’t swim, nearly drowning in the Umbraflow.
Luckily, in a desperate attempt to survive, he transformed into his beast form and, using all his limbs, crawled to the shore.
But after exhausting himself in the water, he eventually fell unconscious as well. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
Now, one beast and one human lay unconscious, with silence reigning over both banks of the river.
...
Time passed, indeterminate in length.
Luna Sutton vaguely felt something licking her face.
Feeling uncomfortable, she furrowed her brow, raising a hand to brush it off, murmuring, "Stop it..."
Unfortunately, the damp sensation on her face persisted, moving from her cheek down to her neck.
Finally, the annoyance woke her up a bit, and she opened her eyes in confusion.
The sight was of a lush green grassland... and a furry, silver giant wolf.
The silver giant wolf was lowering its head to lick her neck, silver eyes full of concern.
Luna Sutton was startled, immediately waking up and sitting up in shock, exclaiming, "Corbin Crowley, what are you doing?"
But her sudden movement was too much, causing her vision to darken, and she fell back to the ground, taking a while to recover.
Seeing her awake, a flicker of delight crossed Corbin Crowley’s silver eyes before he swiftly concealed it.
A flash of white light, and he turned into human form, wearing an expression of disdain, he barked sharply, "If you’re not dead, get up quickly."
