The Celibate Tycoon Has Fallen-Chapter 164: Keeping Her by My Side
Yelena Hughes, she truly has the ability to make one lose control.
Jasper Yale’s hand touched her face, Yelena Hughes’ skin was fair, and she rarely wore makeup. The bit of lipstick she had applied was wiped off before dinner.
Jasper Yale rubbed his thumb over her lips and asked in a husky voice, "Has anyone ever told you, your bare face makes one want to do something?"
Yelena Hughes’ breath tightened—who would be so shameless as to say such a thing to her?
The hard door behind her made her uncomfortable.
"No," Yelena Hughes gave him no face.
"Then let this be my line, you need to remember it."
Jasper Yale came in for a kiss, not satisfied with just a light peck. Yelena Hughes didn’t expect him to be so aggressive; she was bitten painfully, and his grip hurt as well.
Had he never seen a woman in his life? Does he have to grip her like this every time he catches her?
She refused to open her mouth, so Jasper bit her lip harder and harder until, unguarded, his tongue slipped in.
The intensity between them grew more fervent, Yelena Hughes’ legs clamped tight, but her upper body was nearly falling.
She then had to wrap her arms tightly around Jasper Yale’s neck.
"Wait... let’s start the video call first."
Jasper Yale was taken aback, leaning against her face without moving.
"Didn’t you say you’ve contacted Uncle Chandler? I need to video call him."
Unlike him, Yelena Hughes prioritized what couldn’t be eaten or drunk. She always knew what mattered more.
Jasper Yale loosened the grip on her legs, allowing Yelena Hughes to plant her feet on the floor. He turned on a nearby light as she tidied her hair.
"Later you can tell Uncle Chandler you almost conquered his son for this video call."
Yelena Hughes listened, indeed he held grudges.
He led her to the study, where Yelena Hughes stood before the desk, seeing the other end of the video connecting.
Jasper Yale chatted briefly with Uncle Chandler before signaling Yelena Hughes over.
He grabbed her hand, guiding her to sit on the chair. Yelena Hughes obediently greeted the person on the other end.
"Hello, Dr. Chandler."
"Hello, is it your sister who needs the surgery?"
"Yes."
Uncle Chandler appeared spirited; he was evidently a serious physician. "I’ve gone through the information in detail. Although there have been successful cases before, you must know your sister’s condition is more severe and more complicated."
"Yes, I understand."
"If a suitable heart becomes available and your sister doesn’t survive the surgery, can you handle that outcome?"
Yelena Hughes clasped her hands beneath the table, she had considered this before. It terrified her, but she couldn’t avoid it. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
"Dr. Chandler, may I ask what the success rate of the surgery is?"
"I cannot guarantee that."
Yelena Hughes dug her nails into the back of her hand with force like self-punishment. Jasper Yale watched, seeing the cuts she made, showing no fear of pain.
"I’ve made my decision," Yelena Hughes began a thought she’d turned over thousands upon thousands of times in restless nights, "I earnestly request you to perform the surgery on my sister."
For Uncle Chandler, it wasn’t difficult, but a greater challenge lay ahead.
"Finding a suitable heart is the most important task; if your sister can’t hold on until then, any discussion is meaningless."
A heart means a trade of one life for another; for Yelena Hughes to save Anne Hughes’ life really was difficult.
"Fortunately, there are medications for now, have her hold on, and don’t worry too much," Uncle Chandler couldn’t help but comfort this worried girl.
Jasper Yale bent over, left hand on the computer, "Uncle Chandler, contact us if needed."
"You haven’t told me yet, who is she to you that you go to such lengths?"
Jasper Yale placed his other hand on Yelena Hughes’ shoulder, an action quite normal between couples, "My girlfriend."
"No wonder you care so much."
"Uncle Chandler, what do you think of her?"
Yelena Hughes felt a bit uneasy, moving her shoulders, but Jasper Yale held her tightly in his arms.
"Very good, she looks decent and suits you well."
Jasper Yale smiled faintly; of course, she looks good. After all, your son almost got caught in her charms.
After disconnecting the video call, Yelena Hughes sat in the chair, seemingly lost in thought.
Jasper Yale watched her contemplative look, "You should really thank me."
With her trying to approach Dr. Chandler, how long would it take for him to agree to ask Uncle Chandler?
Yelena Hughes knew, so long as she sought Jasper Yale’s help, tough matters would become easy.
"Thank you."
"Just a verbal thank you?"
Yelena Hughes remembered as she sat in the chair, Jasper Yale resting his elbow on her shoulder, "Kiss me."
That simple?
"Alright."
Without hesitation, Yelena Hughes gave him a straightforward peck on the cheek, a reward she could afford.
Jasper Yale touched his face, "Not enough."
Yelena Hughes’ shoulder was heavily pressed by the man, preventing her from moving. "Young Master, can you ease your hand a little?"
"Shouldn’t you change how you address me?"
Still keeping distance with him?
She wanted to avoid the issue, but Yelena Hughes knew she couldn’t hide forever, "Young Master said you want to be with me?"
"Looking at you, you don’t believe it?"
It’s hard to believe for anyone.
"Not as just lovers?"
Jasper Yale hooked her chin, lifting her face, "As a couple."
Yelena Hughes couldn’t escape his gaze, her throat rolled slightly, "Why me?"
He had so many women around him, all more fitting than she was.
Jasper Yale couldn’t explain it either; he and Yelena were essentially not from the same world.
But he pressed her head, drawing her in, "Do you think I have you watched for fun? That I sought Uncle Chandler just to play the hero? Yelena Hughes, didn’t I do all these because of you?"
Her heart had always been hard, she’d wished to build high walls around it, yet Jasper Yale’s presence at her father’s funeral was something Yelena Hughes could never forget.
He acted without fear of scrutiny, never afraid of gossip, but if not for her, Yelena Hughes, would he have touched that casket?
"You should celebrate," Jasper Yale, thinking of her continuous struggles, felt a sting in his heart, "Look how exhausted you are, but this kind of life can end now. Whatever you face in the future, I can help."
Yelena Hughes was not used to it, she turned her face away, but Jasper Yale held her chin, turning it back.
He made her meet his gaze, "Why are you avoiding?"
"It feels like a dream."
Jasper Yale didn’t press her, nor did he force her; instead, he anchored her by his side as a girlfriend.
