The Werewolf King's Bride-Chapter 494: Until He Bows To Me
(From Blue’s Perspective)
"Blue, what is this? What are you doing?"
"You can see," I said, as I took a sharp breath. I could use more power, but not for too long.
"Yes, I can see! But you have never explained anything beforehand!" he said angrily.
"There was not enough time," I said.
"You just did not have any wish to say it beforehand, no? Why? Why are you doing it suddenly?"
"You really think I am going to die, and let all of you die in this losing battle?" I snapped. "Just exposing my power is the easiest thing I can do now."
"Blue, what about Demetrius? Does he agree?"
"He is sick. That guy literally can’t talk," I said, waving my hand dismissively. "It’s up to me now to save this kingdom from those damned wrecks."
"How are you so sure we are going to win?"
"If we can do just well when the master of the magic tower is chattering, we can surely win, at least for today," I said.
"What are these?"
"The birds? Or, the dragon?"
The dragon moved closer to me and I waved him off. It obeyed me and flew high and raced towards the enemy.
"Everything."
"It looks like I can do a lot of things with my power," I said.
"Creating life… Blue, we cannot create life," he said. "It is against the rule… of the nature."
"Not ’we’, Luc. You cannot create life," I corrected him. "But I can."
He took a deep breath as if the information was hard for him to take. I wondered how long I could go on using my power, but maybe I had more than two or three hours in hand. By then, the enemy line would be cleared.
I did not bring the knights today, as I assigned them to different missions. I had done a lot of things in the last seven days. My body was desperately in need of rest, but there was not much time. I made a small potion to relieve my stress, as sleep was not something I could afford at the moment.
"I created the dragon and now, it is just… kind of free and I am like its mother," I said. "It obeys me. I don’t need to command it with words. Just my mind is enough."
We were standing in a relaxed manner. It looked like we were not on a battlefield, but we were just watching a drama happening.
"And what about those birds?"
"I did not create them," I said and sighed. "I don’t know what they are. But they existed in this world, near us."
"Are you controlling them?"
I did not reply. It did not make me feel good to say I was controlling them. A thought occurred to me a few days ago. If dark mages could control people, then why not animals as well? The thought was sickening. I had no intention of using animals.
It was straight-up abuse. Still, for some reason, I went outside, near the forest, to practice on a rat. However, maybe I managed to control the rat, but before I could figure it out, tens of these black birds emerged from the jungle. I had never seen or heard about them before. The sounds escaping their mouths were disturbing and it hurt my ears. I did not know how to stop controlling them.
I did not even know when I started controlling them. It was like my powers sensed those birds nearby and instinctively controlled them.
No wonder black mana was considered dangerous.
Since I could not stop, I decided to use them for a while, at least, once, until I could set them free. I felt guilty, but not enough to stop doing it. If Dem’s life depended on it, I would do anything.
"Whatever I am doing is something that needs to be done," I said.
"I got news you showed your power in the courtroom and asked for loyalty," he said.

"And I have gotten it," I said.
"… Blue…"
"No, Luc. I won’t stop. Not until all of this is over," I said. "I will be what I need to be. It’s high time I embraced the power I was born with. I need to embrace who I am.
Azure wanted it. He wanted me to be ruthless, he wanted me to rule over everyone, everything. So be it."
’I will rule over everyone and everything. You taught me this, Azure. I will not stop until you bow to me.’
I looked around. The birds were helping. So, was the dragon. I should give it a name. After all, it’s a mother’s duty to name her child.
"I don’t like it," Luc grumbled and walked away.

I knew he would not like it. But I also knew he would fight right by my side, just like a friend, a brother, and the master of the magic tower of Querencia.
I created a shield around me and occasionally sent black smoke through the sky to blind the knights of Mazazine. I was getting exhausted. It was getting hard for me to keep up, so I ordered the dragon to wrap it up quickly, just so I could sit down and let my body create the black mana that I had used today.
The remaining knights and mages backed away within an hour. They were outnumbered as more birds joined. They did not expect it. My father did not expect it.
We returned to the tents, but the knights demanded an answer. I was ready to give them one anyway. I just needed a little time to rest, but perhaps, rest needed to wait.
Once again, I felt the same emotions I had felt when I stood at the end of the courtroom, in front of the throne. I had been scared, and confused. But I did it. I would manage it once again. Something I had faced once must not scare me again.
