Chapter 48: A Princess

Princess Eleanor took a deep breath as she opened her eyes.

She knew that even if others might not be able to guess, but Lady Gisella sure knew that she was acting. Princess Eleanor’s eyes opened slowly as she sat on the bed, looking directly at Nia and Lady Gisella.

"Princess you are awake. I am so worried about you." Nia’s hand held Princess Eleanor’s as tears started to roll down her cheeks.

"Nia, don’t cry. I am fine." Princess Eleanor rubbed Nia’s eyes as she looked at her. She knew that her lady in waiting cared for her a lot and now seeing how much Nia truly care, it brought relief to her mind.

"Okay, Nia, can you leave us alone for a moment?" Lady Gisella said when she saw that Nia was almost calm now.

"No," Princess Eleanor said in a stiff tone. Her eyes looked at lady Gisella with many unknown emotions. Princess Eleanor always felt like Lady Gisella did not like her. Was it because Sir Kit or Lady Gisella had a personal problem with her? Princess Eleanor could not tell.

"Princess.." Lady Gisella’s eyes sharpened as she took a step forward. Her body was showing that she was not pleased with what she was hearing.

Princess Eleanor could feel how angry Lady Gisella was, but that did not stop her. She could feel that now that they had entered the Roulux Empire, she would not be mistreated. After all, they needed her. The prophecy could lead them to any Princess including her so it was only logical that they would not mistreat her.

Princess Eleanor held Nia’s hand as she looked straight at Lady Gisella. "Don’t Princess me Lady Gisella." Princess Eleanor’s eyes sharpened, "I think we need to reevaluate the way we treat each other. I am a Princess. A Princess who can be a Crown Princess if fate allows it. I do not take orders here. I give them. And Lady Gisella should know what I am getting at."

Lady Gisella’s smile faded. Her eyes narrowed as a giggle left her mouth. "So the princess decided to come out. You decided to show your real face."

"I never hid my true face. I was a person who always knew my worth. Just because I decided to ignore Lady Gisella’s judgemental eyes, does not mean I did not know them. I have seen that you do not like the way I interact with a lot of people, especially Sir Kit. And as per what I have known of you, you might have raised the issue with Sir Kit too."

Lady Gisella’s body stiffened as she took a sharp breath. Her eyes shivered as she saw Princess Eleanor looking at her. Her eyes moved away from the Princess only to see Nia looking straight at her as well.

Guilt sprung on her body. Lady Gisella knew that Nia had taken care of her when she was sick. Even when the enemy attacked there was a point where Nia decided to protect her.

Lady Gisella could sense that Nia was worried about the Princess a lot. When they were moving towards the borders, Nia was looking back, her eyes searching for Princess Eleanor.

"It is true that I do not like you Princess but not because of anything else. I do not look down on you. You are a Princess of a Kingdom and I could not be disrespectful towards you, but I do not like the way you are close to Sir Kit. He should not be involved with you."

Princess Eleanor giggled. "Lady Gisella should talk with Sir Kit regarding this. He has agreed to be my escort."

"It was because you asked Sir Kit too." Lady Gisella’s voice trembled in annoyance. She was keeping her cool but it was impossible.

"I am a Princess. Lady Gisella and you seem to forget it at times. I can ask whatever I want. If Sir Kit had an issue he could have said so. I never forced him to become my escort. So if Lady Gisella has an issue she should just have a conversation with Sir Kit." Princess Eleanor smiled.

Lady Gisella’s hand formed a fist as she looked at the Princess. She took a few deep breaths as she bowed down. "Forgive me, Princess. My behavior was rude and will not occur again."

Princess Eleanor could not understand the change in Lady Gisella’s behavior. Why she was asking for forgiveness was beyond her. "I hope we can be on good terms. You are my support here Lady Gisella and I do not want to create any more misunderstanding."

Lady Gisella nodded. Her eyes looked at Princess Eleanor as she said, "Princess Eleanor should rest. I will bring some soup for you." 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶

With those words, Lady Gisella left the tent in search of Sir Kit.
