Chapter 133: Chapter 133

Sir Kit’s gaze sharpened. His lips curled up as his hold on the letter tightened.

Sir Kit was already informed of what Nia had told the Princess about the recent letter. Duke Felix did not want to see her go to the Beaumont mansion, but now that he was reading it, Sir Kit could understand the complexity in it.

[I hope the Princess is safe. Nia, I know that Princess Eleanor has a hot temperament and is not open to opinions but I know that she will listen to you. After all, you are one of her closest friends.

I had heard a lot of rumors going around that said that the Princess is not getting recovered by the healer at the temple. Although everyone had agreed to send her to the Beaumont mansion to get treated by doctor Raul, I personally think that it might not be the best option.

Doctor Raul does not have a good history with the temple and the rumors surrounding him and the Grand Duke are not good. I am afraid that the Princess might only suffer at the Beaumont mansion rather than getting recovered.

Nia, you do trust me and my judgment, right? The best way for Princess Eleanor to recover is at the Royal Palace. The Crown Prince will do everything to treat her. We cannot forget that she is there as a candidate and the Royal family cannot ignore and let one of the candidates suffer.

Trust me, Nia. I am telling this for both of your goods. Princess Eleanor should not go to the Grand Duke’s castle. It will not be safe there. You can persuade her. Why don’t you tell her that you feel uncomfortable? I will write to the Crown prince as well. He will treat Princess Eleanor and her wounds will heal.]

Sir Kit’s hold on the letter tied as he closed his eyes. He knew the next line was him asking Nia to follow his will again and again like a parent trying to comfort their child. Sir Kit did not care for what was written but his eyes stayed on a particular line.

’He said he will write to the Crown Prince?’ Sir Kit thought as his eyes sharpened. A small laugh left his mouth as he closed his eyes trying to gather his thoughts.

’The only people who can write to Crown Prince Richard are the ones who have a good relationship with him. But it is unlikely that even if Duke Felix writes the letter, it will be delivered to the Crown Prince. So why does he sound so confident?’ Sir Kit was in deep thought as he opened his eyes. He kept the letter in the stack as he got up from the chair.

The night was getting darker as he looked at Princess Eleanor one last time who was still sleeping.

Sir Kit walked towards her as she stared at her rhythmic breathing. A smile ford on his face as he said in a low tone, "Let’s have breakfast together Princess. I will tell you what I found then."

Sir Kit wanted to touch her but he did not. Sir Kit shook his head as he moved all the thoughts away, in fright that it might make Princess Eleanor wake up. He knew that the Princess had not listened to his words but he knew what he wanted. He would be there at the dining table where Princess Eleanor will be having her breakfast in the morning.

Sir Kit walked towards the window that was open rather than walking towards the door. Although he wanted to walk out of the door as there was no escort waiting outside who would misunderstand the situation, Sir Kit wanted to ask a few questions to the man who was outside the window.

Sir Kit moved his finger indicating the person to meet him in his room as Sir Kit jumped down the window disappearing into the night.

The room turned quiet again. The soft wind was blowing through it. Although the air was cold, Princess Eleanor was engulfed in warmth. Her eyes fluttered slowly as she opened them.

Princess Eleanor’s heart was beating faster. She did not know what to make out of the situation. The blanket on her body was keeping her warm but it also gave her the security that she had lacked.

Princess Eleanor had heard all the words that Sir Kit said. Everything was still fresh in her mind. She wanted to react then but she did not have the courage to open her eyes and say the words she wanted to say.

Princess Eleanor pulled the blanket closer to her body as she took a few deep breaths. Many things were bugging her but she also knew that she herself was not clear about her own feelings.

Princess Eleanor liked Sir kit. She felt close to him but was it something else? Can it be love? Princess Eleanor could not give the answer to the question yet. She wanted time to think and thus she pretended to be asleep.

She liked Sir Kit’s touch on her skin as she could feel her breathing hitched. Maybe it was the fact that her eyes were closed and it was dark, enhancing her senses but Princess Eleanor also knew that it was not normal.

’No, he is a part of house Beaumont,’ Princess Eleanor told herself. ’I need to find clues first before I act on my feelings. I cannot let my feelings take over.’

Princess Eleanor took a few deep breaths. She knew what she wanted to teach in the Beaumont mansion and she was determined to find an answer within the next two days.

’Sir Kit is a knight. Even if he likes me and I get to know that the Grand Duke is also responsible for my parent’s death, will he take my side? Will he betray his master?’ Princess Eleanor shook her head, ’I need to think carefully before I let my emotions take over.’

Princess Eleanor looked at the open window as she waited for tomorrow to come.
