The Web of Knightspur-Chapter 118: -
Princess Eleanor was sitting in the carriage. She had a weak expression on her face.
Her body was leaning towards the window as she saw the man on the horse. He was looking straight forward as if he could not feel the burning sensation of princess Eleanor’s gaze. His focus was on the road.
’So he is the one and only Commander Colt?’ Princess Eleanor those as she bit her lips.
Her body leaned a little towards him as she blinked her eyes nervously. She could see that the man had a straight face as his jawline was prominent. His blond hair was shining under the sun.
Princess Eleanor’s eyes moved down as she saw that he was wearing armor. His body was well proportionate as his strong arms held the rope.
’He is strong,’ Princess Eleanor sighed as she said, ’Such a loss that he is loyal to the Crown Prince.’
Princess Eleanor’s eyes were filled with disappointment as she swallowed hard. She knew that this was not something that she wanted to think about but the thoughts did not filter out in her mind. All she could think was ’What if I try to turn him towards me?’
Princess Eleanor knew that that was an achievable goal but there was a part of her that wanted to try. She felt like it was important for her to try.
Princess Eleanor moved a little towards the person but to her surprise, the man moved past her in the front. Princess Eleanor’s eyes could not help but follow him. She was confused about where he was going when she was about to talk with him and yet the man had already made a move.
’Where are you going?’ Princess Eleanor wanted to ask. She could not understand why but she felt like she should have asked something to him. He was going to escort her but she could not build a bond with him as she had made with Sir Kit.
’Is it because I am way too comfortable with Sir Kit?’ Princess Eleanor thought but she soon shook her head in denial. She knew that this was not right. Even with Sir Kit, she was the one who had taken the first step.
’Should I call him? Should I just say Commander Colt?’ Princess Eleanor’s mind was a mess. She could not come up with any logical question, ’But what was I supposed to say when he looks back at me? What should I ask?’
Princess Eleanor was trying to come up with a proper question to start a conversation. She knew that maybe what she was thinking was all unnecessary but she felt like if the man was going to follow her and report everything back to the Crown Prince then she needed to control her perspective.
’I cannot control what is said but I can control how it is said.’ Princess Eleanor nodded her head. She knew the difference it makes when one changes the tone or the reasoning behind a sentence. The impact of such small things was great.
’Let’s call him. I know I can come up with some questions,’ Princess Eleanor thought as she leaned out from the window of her carriage. She could see the long road as well as the knights that were surrounding her.
Initially, Princess Eleanor might have looked for Sir Kit but then she remembered his words, He will join her midway.
’And when will be this midway?’ Princess Eleanor thought as her eyes moved past the knights to see the man’s back she was searching for, Commander Colt.
"Comm..."
"Calling someone?" A stiff tone interrupted her as Princess Eleanor’s movement stopped. She knew who this person was. She had always known who this person was. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
Princess Eleanor closed her eyes as her heart was beating faster. She felt like she was someone who had been caught red-handed and that frightened her.
"No," Princess Eleanor said in a soft tone as she turned around. She could see Sir Kit sitting on his horse who was too near to her.
Princess Eleanor smiled as her eyes stayed focused on the horse as she extended her hand. She touched the horse’s nose as she said softly, "Wind, it’s been a long time."
The horse moved his face so that Princess Eleanor could touch him more conveniently. Princess Eleanor laughed as she loved the way Wind was behaving with her. She felt like he was saying that he too remembered her.
"Wind likes you," Sir Kit’s voice came suddenly as her heartbeats stopped. Princess Eleanor could not help but look up to him as she smiled.
"I like him too." Princess Eleanor’s tone was soft. Her eyes blinked as all she could see was the mask on Sir Kit’s face. Her hands were itching to move over and remove it but she was afraid. She did not want to do such a thing now.
Princess Eleanor believed that Sir Kit would show her his real face soon. Maybe once they reach the Beaumont mansion. Maybe she just needed to be calm at the moment and let things move.
"Sir Kit is here," Princess Eleanor said with a smile on her face, "I thought I would only see you when I reach Beaumont’s mansion."
Sir Kit was silent as his eyes looked at a particular distance. "So you decided to get to know your new escort?"
Princess Eleanor could feel the resentment in Sir Kit’s tone. She wanted to deny it but she also knew that Sir Kit had seen her looking at the man. ’He even saw me trying to call him,’ Princess Eleanor thought as she bit her lips.
Princess Eleanor shook her head subconsciously as she tried to deny it but she soon realized that her body reacted before she could, "No, I just wanted to ask him when we will be reaching Beaumont mansion."
Sir Kit laughed. The tone portrayed that he was not happy, "Really? Why did I not feel that this is the case?"
