The Web of Knightspur-Chapter 107
The Crown Prince’s hands stopped mid-air as he looked at the side. He moved his hand down as he smiled.
"Lady Gisella," Crown Prince Richard said as he smiled. He looked at the way the Lady stood guarding the Princess.
"Is the Crown Prince looking for something?" Lady Gisella looked at the man. Although she knew her status she also knew that he might not be able to do anything to her. She was respected and looked up to because of her contribution.
Crown Prince Richard shook his head. "The rose that you gave the Princess is really beautiful. I wonder where Lady Gisella got it from."
Lady Guisella did not back down. She could see the man smiling at her but his gaze still showed his unhappiness.
But Lady Gisella did not care. She knew that everyone was watching the Princess very keenly. They were all observing them as if they were pieces of meat and yet Lady Gisella maintained her expression.
This was a normal thing. All the nobles present here at some point wanted to make their daughter enter the Royal palace but then the Prophecy hit and all of their dreams came crashing down. The Empress needed to be from the other Kingdom.
Lady Gisella knew what was going on in their minds. They wanted to see which was the princess that held the Crown Prince’s gaze longer. Maybe they understood that if their daughters cannot be the next Crown Princess or the Empress they can always be the concubine. The status was changed but the target remained.
Lady Gisella had gotten the information that said that the nobles will be targeting the Princesses. One needs to develop a good relationship with the future rulers. She knew that soon there would be a gamble to identify who would win the Crown Prince’s heart. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
Lady Gisella shook her head. She felt that it was all too silly but then she saw the Crown Prince looking at Princess Eleanor and her heart stopped. She did not know, but she did not like his gaze on the Princess.
Princess Eleanor and Lady Gisella were on friendly terms but she still did not want the Princess to suffer. Lady Gisella knew that the Princess was not looking to capture the Crown Prince’s heart but what if she captures it without even trying?
The thought had made her shiver but soon she shook her head. She indulged in talking with others when she saw that the Crown Prince had moved on to look at other Princesses. Sometimes she felt it was better than the man was said to be the flirt. His eyes never stayed on one.
But soon she lost her mind when she saw the Crown Prince walking towards Princess Eleanor and to her surprise, the Cenid Kingdom’s Princess was there too. She did not know what took over her as she walked towards them and before the Crown Prince could touch Princess Eleanor she had distracted his attention. All she wanted to do was not allow him to pay attention to Princess Eleanor.
Lady Gisella smiled as she looked at the man who was eagerly waiting for her answer. "This? I was walking in the garden and saw the gardener cutting the flowers. He was kind enough to give me some. I was just passing when I saw Princess Eleanor and I thought some color might make her feel good. Her body is not in a good condition, so I gave her this."
Crown prince Richard’s eyes flashed towards Princess Eleanor. He was silent before he laughed. "The Princess was poisoned it seems." His eyes stayed on the Princess as he tilted his head a little. "It is a pity that the chief healer could not help the Princess at all."
Lady Gisella did not reply. She simply nodded her head as she looked back "Princess Vida,"
Princess Vida smiled but her eyes were sharp. She had heard the name Lady Gisella. Her existence was small but her status was large. She was known to be one of the most powerful people. Someone who could make the people oppose you in a minute.
Princess Vida took a deep breath. Her gaze moved from Princess Eleanor to Lady Gisella. She knew that all the Princesses got a female companion with them, but only Princess Eleanor got the best.
"Lady Gisella," Princess Vida nodded her head but when she looked up, she felt a chill down her body. She could not understand why she was feeling so restless. Lady Gisella’s gaze penetrated into her making her uncomfortable.
Crown Prince Richard did not pay any attention to the exchange between Princess Vida and the others. His gaze was fixed on Princess Lenaor who did not look at him. Her gaze was only focused on Lady Gisella as if she was the only person here in the room.
Although the Crown Prince smiled, his tone became darker, "I heard the Grand Duke want to start gardening."
The Crown Prince’s words make everyone look at him. All the gaze turned towards the man who looked at Lady Gisella.
"I am not aware of what the Grand Duke desired." Lady Gisella said honestly. She knew that no matter how hard she tried, she would never understand it.
"Yes," the brown Prince nodded his head. "No one is aware of what the man desires. But I think he had taken a fancy on a particular plate. To be specific it is a Rose plant." Crown prince Richard smiled as his eyes turned towards the rose on Princess Eleanor’s hair. "I just hope that he remembers not to keep his eyes on my flowers. I especially hate to share my roses."
Lady Gisella’s eyes darkened. She nodded her head as she said in a small voice, "I will remember to tell the Duke,"
The Crown Prince smiled as he looked at Princess Vida, "Shall we," He extended his hand towards her which she happily took.
The Crown Prince looked back as he said, "Red looks good on you."
