The Web of Knightspur-Chapter 106
Princess Eleanor’s eyes widened in shock. She did not know how to react anymore.
"Crown Prince?" Princess Eleanor’s eyes widened. She did not expect the Crown Prince to come near her and ask about the rose in her hair.
Princess Eleanor moved her hand above as she touched the rose softly. Her eyes shivered as she took a step backward. "This..."
Soon the Crown Prince’s face changed. His eyes narrowed as he soon moved his face to Princess Vida who was as stiff as a stone.
The Crown Prince understood that he should not have said such a thing so openly. But he could not stay quiet. The first time he saw the rose, he knew that it was the one that the Grand Duke had taken with him.
It was the first time he had seen the Grand Duke so interested in flowers. His words were still lingering in his mind. The Crown Prince’s fingers formed fists as he took a deep breath.
’He wants to take the flower from me,’ Crown Prince Richard’s eyes narrowed as he decided to ease the tension in the air. He could see that not only Princess Eleanor but also Princess Vida was still.
"Even you, Princess Vida. Your hairband is unique. Where do you get these flowers? I think pricking flowers at the temple is forbidden?" The Crown prince said as he raised his eyebrows.
He knew that he was saying nonsense. Although the temple did prohibit people from pricking the flowers, he needed to say something else to make everyone look around. Crown Prince Richard knew that everyone was staring at him at the movement.
The crown Prince looked at the side, but there was no change on Princess Eleanor’s face. She smiled as she said, "Lady Gisella gave it to me. She saw me wearing the dress and thought that maybe a rose was all that I was missing." Princess Eleanor said as she smiled as if it had nothing to do with her. Everything that she was saying was true. "Lady Gisella might know from where she got this."
The Crown Prince looked at Princess Eleanor. She wore a good red dress but her face was still pale, but for some reason, he still felt like the Princess was looking beautiful. Although she was not dressed exaggeratedly but she exuded a captivating aura.
’Why didn’t I see her back when we had brunch?’ The crown Prince thought. But Princess Eleanor’s words made him realize what made him ignore her.
"Lady Gisella was there to see if my injuries were healed." Princess Eleanor said with a smile. Her eyes were looking at the Crown Prince as if she was waiting for his reaction.
"Yes, the injuries," The Crown Prince said as if he had heard something funny, "How is the Princess feeling?"
Princess Eleanor could see the change in the Crown Prince’s expression. She knew that she had managed to annoy him. Now all she needed to do was to make him forget about her existence.
"The wound is not getting better. But then again the chief healer said that I need doctor Rauls’ help to get it treated." Princess Eleanor smiled as she looked at Princess Vida. A smile formed on her face as she blinked her eyes innocently. "But Princess Vida was saying that not only me but other Princesses were attacked too."
The Crown Prince looked at Princess Vida. She looked like a fairy in her white gown with blue diamonds embroidered in them. The Crown Prince had always known that the dresses were a type of armor for the Princesses.
"I hope the Princess has not suffered," The Crown Prince said as he smiled as he looked at the Princess who looked embarrassed.
Princess Vida shook her head in annoyance. She wanted to tell the Crown Prince but not in this manner. When Princess Eleanor said the words it somehow felt like she was crying here and complaining about why only Princess Eleanor was getting any attention.
Princess Vida shook her head as she tried to maintain her calm, "I was not injured in the attack. But many Princesses have gone through a similar experience. I just worry...."
"It’s okay, I understand." Crown Prince Richard said with a smile on his face, but something else was brewing in his heart. "I wanted to ask who made this hair band for the Princess. The arrangement is unique. Is it something the ladies frequently do at the Cenid Kingdom?"
Princess Vida looked up as she blinked. She did not think that the Crown Prince would come and start a conversation with her. The Crown Prince moved his hand as Princess Vida’s heart stopped for a second.
Crown Prince Richard touched a flower as he smiled before taking his hand back, "Did you get it from the temple’s garden?"
Princess Vida nodded her head. She was too mesmerized to think of anything else at the moment. "Yes, In our Kingdom the ladies usually wear a flower headband instead of a flower crown."
"I think my sister will love this. Why doesn’t Princess Vida teach my sister how to do this once you come to the Palace?"
Princess Vida’s eyes opened wide as she nodded. She had come here with a sole purpose. She wanted to become the Empress. So for that, she had to become the Crown Princess first. It just so happened that the Crown Prince was all she had dreamed of.
The Crown Prince smiled as he looked at Princess Eleanor who had been forgotten for a split second. He could see that the glass in her hand was not finished.
Crown Prince Richard’s eyes narrowed. He looked at her, who was sipping the drink for a long time, and yet the amount of it did not go down. He knew that she was pretending to be enjoying this atmosphere just like many others but she was too natural for it.
The Crown Prince took a step forward as he moved his hand up to touch when a voice interrupted him, "Crown Prince Richard,"
