The Web of Knightspur-Chapter 105
Princess Eleanor looked at the man who seemed to be looking at her.
The Crown Prince’s eyes were in her direction and Princess Eleanor knew that he was seeing there as no one else was behind her, after all, she was self aware that she was standing against the wall. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
But something was odd. Princess Eleanor could see that the Crown Prince was not looking at her in particular. His eyes were not on her face but on her hair.
Princess Eleanor swallowed. She did not want to get noticed, and yet the crown prince decided to make every Princess in the room look at her. Princess Eleanor could not help but touch her hair in annoyance. She could not understand what the man was looking at but then a soft touch was felt on her fingertips.
’Rose?’ Princess Eleanor thought. The Crown Prince was looking at the rose.
A bad feeling started to creep into her heart. She hated being the focus of people. Especially today. But then she looked around. She was not the only one who was wearing flowers in her head. Many other nobles and Princesses were doing the exact same thing.
Princess Eleanor could not understand her situation. Her gaze moved towards the man again but at this point, the Crown Prince looked somewhere else and everyone’s attention moved towards that person.
Princess Eleanor breathed a sigh of relief. She did not know how to describe this but somewhere inside her heart Princess Eleanor was happy. But soon the happiness came to an end when she saw Princess Vida walking her way.
Princess Eleanor’s eyes narrowed when she saw Princess Vida talking to other Princesses who walked away while princess Vida walked towards her.
"Princes," Princess Vida smiled as she continued, "You look beautiful today,"
Princess Eleanor smiled back as she complimented Princess Vida as well, "Thank you. But you look glowing. Is this the famous blue diamond especially found in the Cenid Kingdom?"
Princess Vida touched her neck as she nodded. "Yes, it is actually small and is easier to convert into a necklace. But Princess, your walk today..."
Princess Eleanor nodded her head as her tone turned sad, "What can I say, It is still painful and I did not seem to get better."
Princess Vida did not reply as she looked down at princess Eleanor’s legs. She saw how slowly Princess Eleanor was walking today. Everyone was looking at her. All knew that she was attacked and wounded, and Princess Eleanor did not waste a single movement showcasing her situation
"Did the Princess use the cream I gave you?" Princess Vida said as she looked straight into her eyes, "It works beautifully at times."
"I did apply it once but then the chief healer was the one who started applying for their medicines so I had to stop." Princess Eleanor’s lips curled up as she looked at Princess Vida, "But the cream was really effective. Although I did not use it a lot, but my skin was smoother."
Princess Vida did not reply as she looked at Princess Eleanor from time to time. It felt like she wanted to say a lot of things but she could not find a suitable word.
"But Princess Vida looks sick? Is something bothering you?" Princess Eleanor asked but the Princess shook her head.
"No nothing."
Princess Eleanor looked behind Princess Vida as she saw some of the other Princesses looking in her direction. "Princess Vida made new friends,"
Princess Eleanor could see Princess Vida’s body stiffened. She could feel her eyes going wide before she came normal.
"Well, not really. I was on a walk and met a few Princesses along the way. We just started talking and found a common subject to communicate on." Princess Vida’s eyes narrowed as she told a step toward Princess Eleanor before she whispered into her ears, "Did you know that there are other Princesses too who were attacked."
"Are there?" Princess Eleanor asked as she rubbed her chin. Her eyes looked at Princess Vida but she could not find any opening to question the Princess. "I hope none of them are hurt."
Princess Vida shook her head. "None of them were hurt, only you."
Princess Eleanor could hear a slight judgment in Princess Vida’s tone but she kept silent. If it was not because of Lady Gisella’s words Princess Eleanor could not have questioned Princess Vida’s words.
But now she was observing her silently as if she was acting for her to make a mistake. Princess Eleanor smiled but was silent. She did not say anything else, she looked at Princess Vida carefully.
"Princess Vida looks beautiful with this flower hair band. I didn’t know that one could wear it like this. It really suits you." Princess Eleanor said as she observed the way the flowers are arranged on Princess Vida’s head. "It is quite unique."
Princess Vida touched her flower crown and smiled as if she was shy. "Well, Kelly, my lady in waiting did this. I liked it too. She usually has some weird ideas but I still listen to her at times."
Princess Eleanor knew in what direction Princess Vida wanted to take this conversion. "Yes, sometimes they understand the style better. Anyway, the Crown Prince was looking at you. Maybe he liked the way you are looking today."
Princess Vida looked back only to see the crown Prince looking at them. She swallowed hard as her face flushed red. She did not know how to react anymore.
Princess Vida’s heartbeat increased as she saw the man walking toward her. She did not know why but Princess Vida could not bring herself to look up at the man. His eyes were deep and sharp and he walked with a purpose.
Soon the Crown Prince stood in front of them as Princess Vida and Princess Eleanor bowed before him. None of them looked at him, but the Crown Prince did not care. His eyes were on Princess Eleanor as he asked in a dull tone, "Who gave you that rose?"
