The Villianess story: A 100 ways to kill your husband-Chapter 424: The vengeful noble daughter
Chapter 424: The vengeful noble daughter
The more Cedric explained the more scared she got.
"Then it clicked, I could not see through Sarah’s disguise because she was using holy magic unique to the Nightshade family but that wasn’t the only thing I suspected." He explained.
"Are you saying Sarah is my parents’ real daughter, and she wanted to kill me because I stole her place out of jealousy, but what does this have to do with Callista?" She asked him, her breath was slow and it was getting difficult to breathe.
"It is not that difficult to understand, the auras gave her out," Cedric said and she was left dumbfounded.
"The auras?"
"Disguise magic can change your voice, appearance, smell but it can’t change your aura because it is rooted to your magic core. That day, when Kaiden died, I realised it..."
"Sarah had the exact same aura as Callista, and the fake Abrielle was shrouded in a magic that seemed similar to Callista’s magic. I can never make a mistake with it. I have worked with Callista long enough to know her aura. Secondly, during the victory banquet, Callista had disappeared and returned at that perfect time to tell Eleanor about Kaiden’s death. Why was she the first one to know Kaiden was dead?"
Abrielle was shaken to the core. It all made sense; she had suspected it when she fought with Sarah, and she used a magic spell unique to Callista on the river because she was certain Abrielle would die.
Was this all a big revenge plan by this ’ Callista ’ that was clearly different from the sweet female lead she wrote about? First, Cedric was different, then strange events happened, and now the female lead was a vengeful, lost noble daughter.
Callista was not meant to be a noble. She was an orphaned commoner whose parents were killed by bandits. That was why Callista was abandoned in the forest.
"Are you saying Callista found a double then enchanted her look like me just to frame us with the king’s death? She did it because she was the real Nightshade daughter, and it all makes sense because I was born with Heliosian magic, which was unlikely."
Cedric smiled at her. "That was my suspicion. I tried getting clues from your mother, but she was adamant about saying anything, and Pierre didn’t have any idea. Callista killed the real Sarah, and the attempted assassination on Callista in which you got involved in the castle during Eleanor’s birthday was the real Sarah’s associates taking revenge."
Everything fitted perfectly. Events in the plot were happening but due to a different cause. This was not her book then what was it? Why was it so similar but still very different? Was it the dream she used to have that gave her the inspiration for the dragons and the priestess?
Abrielle remembered that night she stopped the assassination because in the original plot, she was the one who tried to kill Callista and was accused of it. She got involved to save herself. That was when the mysterious stranger stepped in to help.
"Everything was connected to each other. She targeted me from the start." Abrielle muttered, and fast footsteps caught their attention.
They glanced over to see Elias, who was with Axel. They had a grim look on their face. "Your highness, the priestess is at the gates and she claims to be the true daughter of the Nightshade."
It wasn’t a lie, Callista was truly a Nightshade. She did have the features, pale skin, snow white hair and blue eyes. It wasn’t just a coincidence.
"We have to leave Abrielle," Cedric said with urgency in his voice.
"Get the horses ready," Cedric instructed Axel and Elias. Three horses were not enough to convey 7 people. "Don’t forget to inform Giselle. We don’t have much time." He added further orders.
Abrielle ran into the room, she quickly changed her outfit and shoes into something more comfortable then grabbed Yuki. Her eyes fell on one of her luggage. They won’t be able to carry everything in a hurry. She walked towards the box to unlock it. Inside there were several items but her attention was drawn to a dagger
The strange one she bought the night she was searching for the hermit witch from a street peddler. The blade was sharp and had strange symbols, which she was starting to realise had similar markings to Cedric’s marks.
She didn’t want to carry the dagger, but the notes she wrote spell she practised with Zoltana. She placed the dagger aside to grab her notes. After gathering her notes she stood up.
"Everything is ready." She heard Evelyn say. Her eyes fell on Cedric, who was now talking to Giselle and Jubilee, who had just arrived at the door. They were staying in a nearby room for Abrielle’s convenience.
"They should be in the library now doing the bloodline test." She said, her mind drifting to an old memory of Abrielle when she had failed the bloodline test. It was the first time that memory came to her mind.
If it were in the past, Abrielle would have concluded she failed because she didn’t have holy magic, but the truth was out now. She was never a Nightshade.
Yuki, who was in her arms, jumped off back to the open box. He stood next to the dagger, his eyes hinting that she should carry it. His eyes locked with eyes and for a split second they turned purple.
"My grace..." A foreign voice that was a bit familiar called from the door. Abrielle bent over to pick up the dagger before turning. Standing at the door was a lady who was recognised as her mother’s aide. Abrielle sighed, Rebecca was not her mother. The thought hurts.
Her eyes went cold. The aide wanted to speak to Abrielle, but Cedric was guarded. ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm
Abrielle approached the door. "How can I help you?" She asked coldly, Cedric gave her a glance, hinting it was time they left.
"Your mother said I should give you this letter. It holds all the answers you want." Abrielle accepted the letter. The aide smiled. "I hope you make it out."
The aide’s eyes were soft. She knew Abrielle from birth but fate was cruel. Abrielle didn’t reply to her. The princess grabbed her husband’s hand and they ran.
The dagger was strapped to her waist with the letter hidden on her dress. The hallways weren’t busy since it was late. They successfully got to the stables where Elias and Axel were waiting.
"We can run through the woods," Abrielle suggested, the same hidden path she used on her wedding day.
