Chapter 67: The Psychiatrist

Just a feet away from her, stood a handsome young man with amber eyes behind his frameless glasses, staring at her in surprise. His chocolaty curls fell on his forehead as they were set in a short flow haircut style. He was dressed entirely in black from head to toe—long sleeve turtleneck shirt and black jeans. There was a silver chain hung around his neck outside the shirt.

In short, if he stood with Nicholas and Asher, Abigail would certainly die of so much handsomeness. Goddamn, how could there be such a perfectly handsome man in this world, and more importantly, the one she never created?!

She remembered every single character from her novel, even the side characters who died early, but this handsome man with amber eyes wasn’t anywhere close. This guy’s looks directly challenged her husband’s appearance!

"Miss?" The man asked once again, seeing the patient stunned. "You wanted to see me?"

"You..." Abigail finally found her voice and once again, scolded herself for staring too much.

She was married! How many times would she have to repeat these words in her heart?!

She finally took a deep breath and nodded. Now that the man reminded her, she had to focus on her recovery first! That way, she could also sneak a few glances at the man’s beauty!

Wasn’t this killing two birds with one bullet?!

"I want my mind checked up. There’s clearly something wrong with me, but these people," Abigail’s expression turned angry once again as she glared at the receptionist. The anger that had died after seeing that handsome doctor rose once again, reaching the peak in the blink of an eye, "they didn’t even listen to me!"

"I see." The handsome doctor glanced at the mess created in his hallway with his amber eyes and pushed his glasses back. He smiled and said, "Let’s talk inside, shall we?"

Abigail’s heart instantly melted after seeing that smile on the man’s face. Her heart thumped in her chest as she continued staring at him and nodded dazedly.

No wonder the receptionist was so guarded against her. It turned out, the doctor was an eye candy who could attracted bees and flies!

The moment she entered, the doctor’s smile vanished as he looked at the guard, raising his eyebrows. The latter also understood immediately and nodded, turning away.

The smile that had vanished formed on his lips again as he closed the door shut. The scattered patients around the hallway saw the handsome man, especially the ladies, instantly giggled.

"My God, you were right. He is indeed handsome!" A lady spoke as her eyes still stuck at the door. "Coming here for my anxiety treatment was the right thing to do!"

"Told you! He’s also very gentle with his patients! No wonder he’s the topmost psychiatrist in the country!"

"Ah, that lady is so fortunate." Another girl sighed. "If I knew wreaking havoc could lead me inside, I’d have done it a long time ago."

"Shh, they will hear you!"

"What’s the point?" The lady sighed once again. "I don’t have that much courage to break things in the doctor’s office."

Inside the room.

The doctor walked to his seat and gestured for the chair on the other side of the table. "Sit."

Abigail carefully walked and sat like an obedient student. She didn’t look like a girl who could create so much trouble and break so many things in someone’s office.

The doctor looked at the woman and didn’t ask about her problems first. It was his duty to figure it out. But from what happened outside, this young lady clearly has some mental issues. But the fact that she actually came to his office showed she knew there was something wrong with her.

As they say, once you accept you have a mental disease, half the sickness is treated.

So he smiled and asked, "What’s your name?"

"Abigail Harrison."

The doctor showed a slightly surprised expression. "Mrs. Harrison? Nicholas’s wife?"

"That’s right." Abigail tilted her head. No one would casually speak her husband’s name like that unless they were acquainted. Her eyes narrowed. "You know him?"

"Oh yeah," The doctor chuckled. "We were classmates and rivals during our high school days. Honestly, it was a one sided rivalry from his side."

"Nicholas considered you a rival?!" Abigail was shocked.

Her cold and rude husband actually was jealous of another guy? That indifferent guy who looked like he was above everyone and looked down on even his own brother?

She couldn’t believe her ears!

Her expression was crystal clear, indicating how shocked she actually was! Even the doctor couldn’t help but chuckle as he sighed and said, "That was years ago. In fact, he doesn’t even know I work in his own hospital."

"No way!" One more reason to hide this visit from her husband!

She couldn’t tell him about this handsome eye candy! What if Nicholas kicked this guy out too out of rivalry?! No, she couldn’t let this happen!

But first...

"Oh yes," Abigail put the strand of her hair behind her ear and said embarrassingly, "I came here to confess something. I think I might have a problem with my brain."

She pointed to her head with her index finger.

"Why do you think so?" The doctor leaned forward, a little interested in what the lady was saying. He was surprised that this little patient would really bring the conservation back to the original topic.

"Well..." Abigail thought for a while and pointed outside. "You have seen it already. When I’m angry, I do that."

"You might have anger management issues. There’s nothing wrong with that." The doctor decided to probe into what she was saying. "Is there anything else you want to add?"

"Yes!" Abigail pursed her lips and said, "I’m admitted here for my failed attempt at suicide, and I really don’t understand why I was feeling that depressed a few days ago. It was as if that self of me was completely different from the current one. You know what I mean, right?"

The doctor’s eyes narrowed as he looked at the girl carefully. When he had seen that girl at the beginning, he hadn’t thought she would ever become so depressed to the point of committing suicide. She looked excited... too excited.

He had a guess in his heart, but it was still too early to diagnose her. So he asked, "Are your mood swings frequent?"

"Yes!" Abigail relaxed a little hearing that. Now she knew they were heading in the right direction.

"Well," The doctor crossed his arms over his chest and asked bluntly, "why do I feel like you already know what kind of sickness you have?"
