The Villainess Married The Evil CEO-Chapter 68: Great!
Abigail was stunned after hearing those words, not expecting the doctor to actually ask those words. This handsome man was certainly more attentive than she had imagined. She had to be careful if she didn’t want him to notice!
She cleared her throat and said, "Ah, yes. I have read about these things, but I’m not sure. That’s why I am here."
The doctor nodded. He knew she was still hiding things, but it wasn’t the right time to push her buttons anymore. Patients become even more vigilant if not taken care of properly. Such patients become even more difficult to handle.
So he smiled and let go of his serious expressions, saying, "Now, let’s talk about other things first, shall we? We will need a few more sessions before I can confirm your diagnosis, okay? Why don’t we get to know a bit more about one another?"
"Okay!" Abigail sat straight like a good and obedient student, saying, "I’m Abigail Harrison, but before marriage, I was a Dawson. My mom... I don’t like her that much because she’s never there in my life, only sends money to the carer. That’s all. I’d only see her face once a year or something. As years passed by, my temper became worse. That’s my entire life."
The man with amber eyes nodded and said, "Well, let me introduce myself first. I am Owen Armstrong, I’ve been treating patients here for the past two years. That’s it."
Abigail frowned. She felt like she wanted to know a few more things like... "Are you single?"
The moment she asked that question, her eyes widened in shock as if she didn’t expect herself to blurt that out. Her hand flew over to her mouth as she said a moment later, as if clarifying herself, "I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to ask about your personal life!"
Owen chuckled and shook his head, still looking at her with a gentle smile. "It’s fine. I don’t mind. I’m single. It is because I have got no time that I haven’t been able to date. That’s all."
"Oh." Abigail didn’t even know why she asked that stupid question. A trace of blush appeared on her cheek as she decided to impatiently change the topic before she could ask something even more atrocious and make this handsome doctor uncomfortable.
But before she could open her mouth, the doctor himself changed the topic. "Why did you come alone, if I may ask?"
"That..." Abigail felt even more embarrassed after hearing that question as she coughed awkwardly and said, "I don’t want my husband to know about my sickness."
"And why is that?"
"You see, our marriage isn’t normal." Abigail spoke everything except for the transmigration thing since she knew it wasn’t normal, and if she uttered a single word of that, she would end up getting diagnosed with something else!
"Actually, my mom basically sold me to Nicholas for some money because she was facing losses. We signed a marriage contract."
"Contract." Owen frowned, expecting nothing less from that emotionless classmate of his. "And its terms?"
"What terms?" Abigail tilted her head as her brows furrowed even further. "You mean the terms for the contract?"
"Yes."
"...."
Abigail just realized she didn’t even know that! How could she have enough patience and time when she had just transmigrated in the nick of time?!
She opened her mouth and closed again and again, but she couldn’t speak a single word. Seeing her like that, Owen didn’t push her anymore and said, "I’ll look init for you. Don’t pressure yourself anymore. Now, I’d like to put your contact information here."
Since she didn’t want her husband to find out, let’s keep it a secret. He wouldn’t insert her information in his system and treat her as his personal patient.
That’s why, he produced another file from the drawer of his desk and patted on an empty space there. "Here."
There was a form to fill. So Abigail picked up the pen and started jotting down words one after another. What she didn’t know was that Owen was still looking at her, but his face was devoid of a smile. His expressions were serious as he continued to stare.
Once Abigail was done, she raised her head. By this time, Owen’s face had resumed to its normal expression as he nodded, putting it back in his drawer.
"Well then, do you want some medicines to reduce your symptoms?"
"Yes!" That’s exactly what she wanted! It turns out, this doctor was better than those in her asylum she had seen for years! "Honestly, that’s exactly why I am here!"
"I see." He bent over and pulled out a small white bottle from his drawer and placed it on the table. "Here you go."
Actually, these were ordinary pills that anyone could have. But the main motive of these pills was to incite the placebo effect in the patient, making them think they were healing. That’s why he gave it to her despite not having the correct diagnosis.
But he still warned her, "Since I don’t have a correct diagnosis of your condition, I only have you the pills with low effect, though it will help you reduce the symptoms a bit."
Abigail waved her hand. She didn’t care. Even if these pills help her reduce the symptoms a bit, she would be the happiest person in this entire world! She hastily grabbed the pills and stuffed it into the pocket of her patient’s outfit.
"Alright. I’ll be here for the next few days. When should I visit you next time?"
"Next week. Saturday evening. Does that time suit you?"
Saturday evening...
Abigail thought for a while and realized that she would still be here. So she nodded and said, "Great!"
After saying that, she went toward the door and opened it, walking outside without turning back with a satisfied smile on her face.
Behind her, Owen continued to watch her back with his brows furrowed.
There was a reason for his seriousness.
He actually knew Abigail from before. More likely, she was his cousin’s classmate, and she had seen him at a birthday party. Ever since that day, the Abigail he knew was hellbent on pursuing him.
Owen had refused her multiple times, but she didn’t listen. Instead, she increased her pace even more. This had happened a year or so ago.
But suddenly, a few months back, she stopped disturbing him. Since she didn’t knock on his door every single day, Owen also didn’t care about it anymore, getting busy with his work.
After that, he forgot about it completely until he met her today.
To be honest, he was rather surprised seeing Abigail’s frank and innocent self. The past Abigail wasn’t like that. She was cunning and had a deceitful mentality, making her a typical red flag among ladies. That’s why, he had steered clear of her.
Now...
It almost felt like her entire identity had transformed. It was only possible in the case of multiple identity disorder where a completely new identity takes over your body.
Could it be the case with Abigail?
