The Villainess Married The Evil CEO-Chapter 37: I Believe You
Nicholas’s fingers tightened around his wife’s fingers as he glared at his cousin. "What are you doing here?"
"Hmm?" Asher leaned over and looked at the man with a hint of mischief in his eyes. "Can’t I go on a vacation?"
"Not when I’m going with my wife." Nicholas wanted to make it clear from his words that Abigail was off limits despite the fact that he wasn’t even the least bit interested in touching her.
"I thought you were going to finalize a deal that might take more than half of your day." Asher looked at the young woman beside him worriedly, "She might get bored during the trip, won’t she? So I’m here to keep her company and see to it that she’s entirely safe and sound."
"Don’t you have a company to handle?" Nicholas’s voice was so cold that it dripped with anger. His eyes looked like they would kill his cousin sitting on the other side.
"I have an all-rounder assistant who’s way better than your William." Asher leaned and closed his eyes, even putting the eye cover on his eyes. "Now shush, I need my beauty sleep."
Abigail, who was sandwiched between two handsome young men, facing one another with sparks and thunder, suddenly giggled and covered her mouth in excitement. "Oh, my God! Please, continue! I feel like I have suddenly transmigrated into a manga with handsome rivals!"
"Shut up!" Nicholas’s anger-filled voice screamed at her, alerting quite a few eyes around them. People started to look at him strangely, making him take a sharp breath to suppress his outburst of anger. He lowered his voice and said, "Make him go away."
"Why?" Abigail felt like she had found another point to trigger her dear husband. "He’s right, you know? I’d be bored. What would I do all alone in the hotel, waiting for you? You might be dreaming because I know once you return, you’ll do more work, leaving me to fend for myself all alone.
"What’s the difference between throwing me in the middle of the street and leaving me alone in the hotel? Nope, not happening." Abigail secretly glanced at the man’s cold and icy expression and chuckled in her heart. "He’s not going anywhere!"
"Didn’t you hear what I said?" Nicholas didn’t know why his words were so difficult to understand. He spoke so clearly, but she wasn’t listening to him at all! Could it be that he was speaking in another language?
Abigail’s smile vanished without a trace. "Dear husband, do you want me to destroy this entire plane because you made me angry? Believe me, I can."
Nicholas didn’t doubt her. Ordinarily, he would have calmed down by now and thought it all rationally. He knew that what his wife said just now wasn’t a joke. She was really capable of destroying the entire plane.
But right now, anger had eaten his brain. He was nowhere sane enough as before only because of his dear cousin’s presence.
So he just continued to look at her. His grip on her wrist increased automatically, making her hiss.
Now Abigail was extremely pissed off.
What was wrong with bringing her friend along? Wasn’t Asher just a good friend and her cousin-in-law? Even though he was handsome, Abigail knew her limits. She was the wife of another, and she knew when to stop despite her terrible mood swings.
Did this guy not trust her a single bit?!
Abigail chuckled in anger as she said, "Fine. Then watch me."
Before she could even wave off Nicholas’s hand, Asher’s hand suddenly grabbed her wrist lightly as he said, "Woah, wait a bit, Mrs. Harrison. What’s the hurry?" He opened up his sleeping patch as he looked at her with one eye. "Can we destroy it after reaching there? I really need to sleep."
Abigail’s anger died down after seeing that handsome face once again. She relaxed against her seat and nodded, even smiling at the other. "Sure."
Nicholas noticed how easy it was for Asher to calm her down and became even angrier. He stood up all of a sudden and said, "I’m going to the washroom."
Abigail waved her hand. She didn’t care where her husband was going. It would be better if he jumped off the airplane!
Actually, Nicholas didn’t have the urge to urinate. He just wanted to take a short break and suppress his anger. If not, he feared he might end up killing two people in front of every single person on the plane.
Thus, he stormed off to the toilet.
Asher finally let out a whistle as he leaned over to Abigail and said, "What a great couple you are! You really know how to push his buttons."
"I do." He was created by her, so why wouldn’t she know that? Abigail let out a smug smile and said, "He needs to be taught a lesson for leaving me in the middle of the street last night."
"Why did you marry him, though?" Asher was really curious about it. He knew little about this marriage. The fact that it was a contract marriage was merely his assumption. Who knew he would hit the bullet?
"Do you think I wanted to?" Abigail scoffed and crossed her arms over her chest. "My mom basically sold me off to him."
"If... I’m asking if you were able to make your own choice, who would it be?" Not that Asher wanted her to say his name. Nope.
"Huh..." Abigail tilted her head, thinking hard.
She silently glanced at the man beside her and coughed. In her heart, she knew the answer perfectly well. Just look at Asher! He was the perfect character she had ever created! He managed his business at such an ease that people like Nicholas would be envious of hell!
And just look at his alluring face! That face was enough to make anyone fall for him and experience the famous ’love at first sight’ thing!
Again, not that Nicholas wasn’t handsome. God, his handsomeness had an attractive charm that increased even more because of his cold and icy look. He was a perfect example of what a red-flagged CEO should look like! He was the person who could make even a married lady ’pregnant’ with just a single glance!
But... His irritating attitude was a huge turn-off for her. The more he wanted to act that way, the more she wanted to push his buttons and find out whether he could break or not.
Cough, that aside, Abigail really couldn’t choose who among the two eye candies was better. If not for Nicholas’s attitude toward her, he would surpass way beyond Asher.
So for now, her answer would be the latter.
Of course, Abigail wouldn’t say those words bluntly. She coughed and said, "I don’t know."
Asher looked at her obvious glances and the traces of blush on her cheeks and smiled. "I believe you."
