The Villain Mom Awakens — Going Viral by Parenting on a Reality Show-Chapter 304: My Handsome but Culinarily Hopeless Husband
Gene Woods was sent to his room to rest due to a fractured shin. He cursed and grumbled, screaming that he wanted to go home and smashing many things along the way.
The director had no other choice. After discussing it with Chelsea Raines, they decided to send Gene Woods back to Veridia ahead of schedule.
A few bodyguards drove up and stopped downstairs. Gene Woods was carried into the car just like that, but before leaving, he didn’t forget to take his gold watch.
With Gene Woods’s departure, the hastily cut camera feeds came back online. A showrunner came forward to offer a brief explanation, saying only that Gene Woods was temporarily leaving the show for health reasons.
[The screen just suddenly went black! Chelsea Raines and Gene Woods were fighting, and then what? What the hell happened after that?!]
[I just saw a slap mark on Chelsea Raines’s face that hadn’t faded yet. You can tell the battle was intense.]
[Gene Woods even got sent home. How vicious must that fight have been?!]
[Serves Gene Woods right! Even though Chelsea Raines isn’t very likable either, Gene Woods taking his anger out on a kid is an unforgivable sin!]
[Nina is already back to cooking. What in the world happened in between?! Why did the production team cut all the cameras at the most crucial moment?!]
[They didn’t cut all of them. The other guests upstairs were still streaming normally. But the cameras were cut right after Renee Jennings came downstairs. The production team was probably afraid the footage was too bloody and violent to get approved!]
[Now I believe *Super Mom* really is unscripted! A regular scriptwriter couldn’t come up with a plot this explosive.]
...
"Add salt! You added too much! That’s way too much!!"
"Add the light soy sauce!"
"That’s not soy sauce, you grabbed the vinegar! The one in the red bottle is the light soy sauce!"
...
Naomi Kenway was by the stove, guiding Ethan Shaw as he cooked. Ethan truly had zero talent for cooking. The beautifully shaped cuts of beef turned pitch-black after his series of maneuvers, and Naomi simply couldn’t figure out which step had gone wrong.
Ethan sprinkled some chopped scallions over the beef from memory as a garnish, but it did little to improve its appearance.
He picked up his chopsticks and tried a bite. After just two chews, he clutched his throat and started coughing violently.
Naomi took the water Ian handed her and quickly passed it to him. "Is it too salty? Here, drink some water."
Ethan took two sips of water, then looked up to see Naomi about to put a piece of beef in her own mouth. He quickly grabbed her hand. "Don’t..."
Naomi looked at him, confused, though a suspicion was already forming in her mind. "It’s not just salty, it’s also disgusting, isn’t it?"
Ethan was always confident in everything he did; he’d never been in such an awkward position. He nodded very slowly. "Yeah..."
The tips of his ears turned slightly red as he closed his eyes in resignation.
Naomi was amused and started to laugh. It was the first time she had seen such an interesting reaction from Ethan Shaw.
Seeing how embarrassed Ethan was, she comforted him, "It’s okay, everyone’s first time cooking is like this. But we don’t have much time left, so why don’t you just be my assistant?"
Naomi stood before the stove, the image of Ethan’s flustered expression lingering in her mind. She couldn’t help but smile.
[My handsome but utterly useless-in-the-kitchen husband.]
[Hahaha, perfect description!]
[In a way, you could say brother-in-law is pretty talented. It’s the first time I’ve ever seen completely black beef. I remember the first thing I ever cooked was instant noodles, then I leveled up to scrambled eggs with scallions. It didn’t look great, but compared to brother-in-law’s pitch-black beef stew, I feel like a culinary genius!]
[Hahahaha, now *that’s* a master chef! Who can even tell the difference between his tomato beef stew and a lump of coal?]
[I feel like Nina is about to burst out laughing. How can someone be this cute even when they’re cooking?!]
[Ian’s stunned expression is literally me. We’re all getting a dose of their public displays of affection!]

Renee Jennings was in her room kneading dough. Their lunch for the day was hand-pulled noodles.
Not far away, Nathan Lynch was doing his homework, while Nathaniel Lynch sat next to Renee Jennings, leisurely reading a newspaper.
Renee glanced at him and cleared her throat, hinting, "Nathaniel, why don’t you help me wash some vegetables? I’m getting overwhelmed here. At this rate, we won’t be eating until God knows when."
Nathaniel Lynch put down his newspaper, unconcerned. He spoke in a very considerate tone, "It’s fine. Nathan and I aren’t hungry. Take your time."
As he spoke, he gently hugged Renee from behind, his voice dripping with tender affection. "Honey, you must be exhausted. I’m so lucky to have married you. Nathan and I aren’t in a rush. We can’t have you getting tired out. We can eat whenever."
Renee Jennings frowned, holding back her frustration. Facing the camera, she forced a smile that could barely be called happy.
Nathaniel Lynch was completely oblivious to Renee’s inner turmoil. He stretched his stiff neck. "I’m going to take a walk downstairs. I won’t disturb you here."
Before leaving, he didn’t forget to plant a kiss on Renee’s cheek. "I’m looking forward to our Rachel’s cooking."
[So sweet! Kisses and hugs! Best Actor Lynch is so romantic.]
[I heard Best Actor Lynch has written many poems for Rachel in private. I’m so envious.]
[A match made in heaven, nothing less.]
[Why does this feel weird? I can’t quite put my finger on it...]
[Renee Jennings has such a good temper. If my husband just sat there reading the paper while I washed vegetables and cooked all by myself, I’d beat the crap out of him!]
[Renee Jennings looks happy enough. I guess it’s a dynamic they’ve both accepted.]
[He doesn’t even know how to prep vegetables. Best Actor Lynch really has his head in the clouds.]
[Renee Jennings has handled all the "worldly chores," so Best Actor Lynch doesn’t have to. He gets to be carefree and relaxed!]

After a flurry of activity, Naomi’s family finally finished making lunch: three dishes and two soups. Naomi had calculated their ingredients; the leftovers were enough for dinner, so having a small luxury for lunch was no problem at all.
The stairs were narrow and the bowls were hot, so Naomi didn’t dare let her son help. She planned to make two trips with Ethan to carry everything.
Ethan was walking behind her and ran right into Nathaniel Lynch at a bend in the stairs.
Nathaniel Lynch’s eyes widened. He originally had no intention of speaking to an arrogant, self-righteous pauper like Ethan Shaw, but perhaps out of sheer surprise, he couldn’t help but ask, "What are you doing? Where’s your wife?"
He frowned and instinctively started to lecture, "This is outrageous! Your wife actually let you cook? What’s the point of marrying a woman like that?!"
Realizing he was getting too worked up, he lowered his voice slightly. "Quick, give that plate to your wife. It’s always been that men work outside and women manage the home; there’s no precedent for a man serving plates. If word gets out that a grown man is acting so subservient at home, won’t you be a laughingstock?" 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
His face was slightly flushed, a clear sign of his agitation.
Ethan finally understood the nonsense Nathaniel Lynch was spouting. He frowned. "What are you talking about?"
