The Villain Mom Awakens — Going Viral by Parenting on a Reality Show-Chapter 294: Making Our President Shaw Get Scolded by His Wife
If it happened to be a weekday when Ian had school, Ethan Shaw naturally wouldn’t get to eat Naomi Kenway’s cooking.
His tone shifted. "Not yet."
Naomi Kenway stood up. "Should I make you something, then? I don’t have many ingredients, though, so I hope you don’t mind."
"How could I possibly mind? I’d love that."
"What would you like? I can make a simple noodle soup."
Ethan Shaw nodded. "Okay."
Naomi Kenway went downstairs to the kitchen, while Ian stayed in the room to keep Ethan Shaw company.
Ethan Shaw started to unpack his luggage. He looked around but couldn’t find a closet. Ian took his hand, led him to a spot against the wall, and pointed with his little finger. "Here!"
Ethan Shaw took a closer look and realized it wasn’t a wall at all, but a row of cabinets. Their vibrant, rich colors blended in so well with the wall behind them that they were almost invisible. Ethan put his folded clothes inside.
"Daddy, are you a little nearsighted?" Ian asked, looking up.
"I guess I am a little."
While Ethan Shaw was organizing his luggage, Ian Shaw helped out at his side. He would watch Ethan with his big, bright eyes, and as soon as he was given an instruction, he would dash off with an item, quick as a flash.
It was only then that Ethan Shaw realized what an incredible memory Ian had. He remembered exactly what went into which drawer, down to the last detail.
Ian’s test scores hadn’t been ideal in the past, and Ethan Shaw loved his son regardless. But recently, he had come to realize that his child was actually exceptional. It wasn’t just about excellence in tutoring classes; his personality and his actions were just as outstanding.
"Daddy, why are you staring at me? Is there dust on my face?" Ian asked, having noticed Ethan Shaw’s focused gaze.
"No." Ethan Shaw stood up, pushed the suitcase into a corner of the room, and ruffled Ian Shaw’s hair. "Have you had fun lately?"
"Yes! As long as I’m with Mommy, every day is a happy day for me!" he answered eagerly.
"What about Daddy?" Ethan Shaw asked, feigning disappointment.
"Umm..." Ian thought for a moment. "Then let’s add Daddy to that."
"What do you mean, ’add Daddy to that’? Am I such an afterthought?" Ethan Shaw couldn’t help but chuckle.
Footsteps sounded from outside the door, and Ethan Shaw walked over quickly to open it.
Naomi Kenway was holding a tray. On it was a steaming bowl of simple noodle soup, the smooth, thin noodles garnished with vibrant green scallions. It looked incredibly appetizing.
Naomi Kenway looked up and saw him. "Oh, thanks," she said.
"Let me get that." Ethan Shaw took the tray from Naomi Kenway’s hands.
Naomi Kenway glanced at the time. "The production team just said our break is only an hour long. More than twenty minutes have already passed, so you might need to eat a little faster."
Ethan Shaw nodded. "Okay." He picked up his chopsticks, lifted a strand of noodles, admired their glistening texture for a moment, and then took a large bite.
"Is it good?" Naomi Kenway asked.
The noodles were delightfully smooth, and the fact that Naomi Kenway had made them herself seemed to give them a special power-up. After savoring the taste, he nodded in praise. "It’s delicious. Thank you for your hard work, honey."
Naomi Kenway was subconsciously startled when she heard how Ethan Shaw addressed her. Surrounded by cameras, she couldn’t very well question him in front of so many viewers, so she could only say, "As long as you... like it."
While Ethan Shaw ate, Naomi Kenway sat to the side, watching a drama with her son in her arms.
A short while later, Ethan Shaw went downstairs and washed the bowl.
Naomi Kenway nodded to herself. ’He didn’t even need me to remind him. Ethan’s quite considerate.’
A moment later, Ethan Shaw came back up, holding the sparkling clean bowl up for Naomi Kenway to see. "Honey, look! Did I wash it clean enough?"
Naomi Kenway uncrossed her legs. "Why did you bring the bowl back up?! There’s nowhere to put bowls in the room. You should go..." She stood up. "Never mind. I’ll take you downstairs and show you around the kitchen. You probably don’t know where the bathroom is either, do you? You did manage to find the right faucet when you washed the bowl, didn’t you?"
Naomi Kenway was filled with worry. ’It’s all my fault for being so careless. How could I forget that Ethan is a CEO who’s completely out of touch with everyday life?’
[LMAO, I’m dying! Her husband brings the bowl up looking for praise and gets a lecture instead!]
[This contrast is so adorable! Why does someone who looks so elite act so cute and needy in front of his wife?]
[You can tell Nina is actually panicking, hahaha.]
[This is the production team’s fault. How could they invite a special guest and not even give him a tour of the house? Now our President Shaw is getting scolded by his wife!]
...
Naomi Kenway took Ethan Shaw on a tour downstairs, showing him all the functional areas of the house. Only after carefully thinking it over to make sure she hadn’t missed anything did she lead him back upstairs.
Upstairs, Ian was still watching cartoons.
Soon, a staff member came over and handed her a task card. "Ms. Kenway, your task card."
Naomi Kenway reached out and took it.
The guests must prepare their own lunch and dinner. Please proceed to Nigati’s place to complete tasks and earn money.
—The *My Super Mom* Production Team
"We’ve got work to do." Naomi Kenway flipped the card over. Sure enough, Uncle Nigati’s address was printed on the back.
Standing beside her, Ethan Shaw read the words on the card clearly. He smiled. "Completing tasks? What a novel experience. Let’s go."
Naomi Kenway’s family went downstairs. Nigati’s home was nearby, so they could just walk there.
They didn’t walk very fast. It was Ethan Shaw’s first time in the countryside of X Province, and his eyes scanned the surroundings.
The sun was intense. Naomi Kenway tugged on the brim of her baseball cap. Suddenly, a cool breeze wafted over from her side. She glanced over and couldn’t help but laugh. "When did you bring a fan?"
"The sun here really is brutal."
In a few minutes, Naomi Kenway’s family arrived at their destination. The location on the task card wasn’t quite accurate. It said it was Nigati’s home, but the place looked more like a sprawling processing plant. There was no ceiling; looking up, you could see a canopy made of black shade cloth. Workers were bustling about everywhere, and several delivery trucks were parked nearby as laborers struggled to load packed cardboard boxes onto them.
Walking inside, they saw that the ground was covered with freshly picked watermelons. This must be the watermelon packing factory, where they were boxed up and shipped by logistics companies all over the country.
Nigati spotted her immediately and walked up to shake her hand. "Ms. Kenway, long time no see."
He noticed Ethan Shaw at her side, his eyes showing a mix of admiration and awe. "What a distinguished-looking man. This must be your husband, I presume?"
Ethan Shaw was already shaking his hand. "A pleasure to meet you."
Nigati nodded repeatedly. "A talented man and a beautiful woman, a perfect match!" He didn’t forget to praise Ian, adding, "And your son is as bright as can be!"
"Uncle Nigati, how come we don’t see your children today?" 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
A smile spread across Nigati’s face. "They’re busy in the fields. The logistics and shipping were left to me. Speaking of which, I really have you to thank." He sighed with emotion. "Our watermelons were unsellable for a long time. It’s all thanks to you that business is booming now!"
