The Tycoon's Enchanted Mermaid-Chapter 70 - : Combing the Hair
Chapter 70: Chapter 70: Combing the Hair
Qin Yu picked up the comb and looked at the small person on the bed no bigger than a hand’s palm, truly clueless about where to start.
He worried about not controlling his strength properly and feared hurting her.
On the broad and comfortable bed, a large and a small figure were at a standoff.
The man’s austere brows furrowed, his face, usually cool and handsome, now appeared more severe; holding the comb, his expression was even more solemn than when making decisions at the Qin corporation’s board meetings.
Ah Da, seeing no movement from Qin Yu for a while, couldn’t help but turn around, only to be forcibly spun back by her nape being pinched, followed by a low reprimand from the man.
“Don’t move.”
...
Under one’s dominant and overbearing manner, Ah Da could only sit obediently, her eyes rolling around twice, wondering if she had guessed right that Qin Yu actually didn’t know how to comb hair…
His own hair was so short, and he usually just scraped it carelessly before heading out the door, so it was not surprising that he wouldn’t know how to comb long hair.
It seemed that the mighty Qin Yu wasn’t omnipotent after all, Ah Da sighed softly.
To avoid her beautiful long hair suffering another disaster, Ah Da turned back in time just as Qin Yu was about to start, and with quick hands, gathered the hair that hung down to the bed and handed him the ends, “Hold it like this, and comb from below.”
Qin Yu looked at her with an expressionless face but silently took the hair she handed over.
Ah Da patted his hand with satisfaction, advising, “Don’t use too much force, and comb in the direction of the hair’s growth.”
“Okay, let’s start, later I want to go see if there’s anything tasty to eat,” Ah Da turned her back to him.
Looking down at the little person with her back to him, her head was very round and her jet-black hair laid out entirely, reaching down to the bed; Qin Yu felt a slight ripple in his heart as he thought of her serious demeanor instructing him in his tasks, she was getting more and more adept at giving him orders.
This small and courageous person, he actually found it quite acceptable, Qin Yu helplessly realized, maybe he really had fallen for her way.
With a gentle scoop of his long fingers, he took her long hair in one hand, and with the comb in the other, he focused his gaze and carefully combed from the base of her neck using the very tip of the comb, watching her reaction closely. Once he saw she was comfortable, he continued downward.
The hardest part is getting started, and with Qin Yu’s strong learning ability, he quickly grasped the right pressure, combing from root to tip. Although the comb’s teeth accidentally jabbed into her scalp a few times, overall, Qin Yu’s first attempt at hair combing was quite successful.
With the hair smoothed and flowing softly down her back, it shined blackly like fine satin.
Qin Yu appraised the result, quite satisfied.
“It’s done.”
His thin lips parted as he got out of bed with the comb and headed towards the bathroom, his cool, detached aura clashing oddly with the comb in his hand.
Ah Da watched his retreating figure, her hands reaching up to touch her head. Her hair was smooth, and the previous frizziness was gone; she hadn’t expected Qin Yu to be so naturally talented at combing hair.
She had only given verbal instructions, and he had learned it directly.
After a while, Qin Yu walked out of the bathroom and stretched his hand towards her, “I’ve cleared the floor below; no one will see you. Be careful when I’m not around.”
“I can stay inside the incense burner, ah, it’s only seven days, I can manage,” Ah Da said with conviction.
Qin Yu murmured lowly, “As you wish.”
“Don’t worry, I’ll hide well.”
Ah Da reassured him, climbing neatly into his palm. The temperature was cooler than before, probably because of washing, and she could smell a faint scent of mint.
The new home was really large. Taking the elevator down, inside the elevator, one could see the outside scenery: the golden, glittering pillars, the various luxurious and delicate pieces of furniture, and the blue lake and green mountains in the further distance.
The boundless beautiful view captivated Ah Da, and she couldn’t look away.

The restaurant below was even larger than Ah Da had anticipated, its surroundings adorned with solemn and austere stone reliefs. In the center, a flower lamp over five meters tall was suspended by three steel ropes, with every petal glowing, intricate and stunning. The gold and white dining tables seemed to stretch endlessly, and upon sitting down, Qin Yu placed her on the table.
Ah Da’s gaze was quickly drawn to the golden-brown square pieces of meat on the white porcelain dish at the side, surrounded by some fruits, vegetables, and sauces; the aroma was sweet and the colors tempting. She couldn’t help but swallow her saliva—she wasn’t hungry and didn’t need to eat, but the meat smelled too good; she was extremely tempted.
Qin Yu, seeing her expression like that of a cat that smelled fish, couldn’t help but chuckle. He raised his hand to cut a small piece of meat with a knife and fork, dipped it into some sauce, and then brought it to her mouth.
“Try it.”
Ah Da’s eyes lit up at the sight of the meat, and she eagerly bit into it, only to make a troubled face after just two chews.
“What’s wrong?” Qin Yu asked, frowning.
Ah Da struggled to swallow the meat in her mouth, as if it took all her strength, her little face scrunching up. A glass of fruit juice was passed to her lips, and without a second thought, she downed it straight away, the sweet liquid washing away the bloody taste rising in her throat.
Only when she gently pushed the glass away did Qin Yu withdraw his hand.
Ah Da, with her face flushed red, took a moment to compose herself before slowly covering her mouth and saying, “The inside of the meat is raw, it has a strong smell.”
She sounded somewhat aggrieved.
The rare meat was specially ordered by Qin Yu from the kitchen, considering Ah Da’s current situation; being small and having fragile teeth, a softer texture would be friendlier to her.
Qin Yu took a piece and tried it himself. To him, the beef was tender and savory, not overly bloody, and didn’t have the overpowering metallic taste that Ah Da described as being difficult to swallow.
Watching him eat, Ah Da tilted her head in confusion, “Don’t you find it distasteful? The taste of this meat is so strange.”
It smelled delicious, and even the outer layer was aromatic, but inside it was unexpectedly filled with a piece of bloody raw meat—such a deception!
Ah Da glared fiercely at the piece of meat in the white porcelain dish, as if she could bore a hole through it with her stare.
“It’s just a hint of raw blood, it doesn’t affect the taste of the meat,” Qin Yu said as he put down his utensils, his eyes landing on her with curiosity. “When you bit me before, you didn’t find the taste odd. But now you’re being picky?”
“It’s different,” Ah Da immediately retorted.
Remembering how she appeared dazed after licking his wound, Qin Yu pursued with interest, “How is it different?”
“It just is.” Ah Da knew deep down that licking his blood was not normal, and she resisted and refused inwardly, yet, each time, her body’s instincts took control.
She was extremely frustrated and powerless to resist.
“Your… taste is different.” After hesitating for a while, Ah Da replied quietly.
The scent of Qin Yu’s blood was unusual, weaving its way into her flesh, seducing and confusing every one of her nerves, causing a tingling numbness. Ah Da didn’t understand why it was so.
It was quite strange.
Looking at her timid and guilty demeanor, as if afraid he would settle accounts with her, Qin Yu began to doubt whether the person who had lectured him with forceful composure about combing her hair upstairs was indeed her.
“Different tastes?” Qin Yu murmured, then asked, “Have you tasted others?”
“Of course not!” Ah Da shook her head eagerly, trying to prove she was not a bloodthirsty fiend. Her big round black eyes looked innocent and uncertain, “Have you forgotten that you were the one who let me out? I only tasted yours accidentally.”
“I’ll definitely restrain myself in the future and never harm you,” Ah Da tried her best to show him her resolve.
Yet, Qin Yu thought of another layer; Master Ting Chan had said that in her past life, she was Merfolk. If “tears turn into pearls” was an ability she retained after her soul took residence in the Green Jade Incense Burner, then perhaps this craving for blood was an innate aspect of her animalistic nature.
