Chapter 983: Chapter 983: I Can Teach You How to Date

Crystal Landon was quite thrilled at first glance, flipping it over to examine it closely. She noticed the wood he used was top-quality rosewood, with fine grain, showing an ebony color. The little cherub wasn’t small, and the fact that he finished carving it in just one day showcased his exceptional skill.

"I didn’t know you were so multi-talented." Crystal flattered him without holding back.

Complimented Major General Richard Shaw remained expressionless and said lightly, "It’s just something I do to pass the time."

In fact, Richard Shaw hadn’t had what you’d call a childhood since he was seven or eight. His childhood was buried along with his parents’ sacrifice for the country. While other kids were still being pampered and playing, he was already skipping grades and studying, starting to shoulder the responsibilities his father left to him. Whenever the pressure became too great, he would carve wood sculptures to calm his mind, cultivate patience, and relax.

Crystal nodded. Whenever she felt down, she’d go racing, but that was something she couldn’t talk about, or she’d lose all her pocket money for the month.

Crystal found a gift box, packed the two little cherubs inside, and then wrote a note labeling them as hand-carved by Major General Richard. Mission accomplished.

"When are you going to carve one for me, too? Just do it based on my likeness," she asked with a playful smile, glancing back.

The man gazed into the distance, saying softly, "If there’s a chance."

Hmph~ Sooner or later, she’ll have him carve a beautiful sculpture for her too, Crystal huffed.

The charity event was held at an exquisitely classy winery, allowing guests to enjoy wine while engaging in philanthropy. Pearl Landon’s idea was indeed quite good.

Crystal chose a white sleeveless dress which showed off her long, beautiful legs; true to her name, her skin was fair as snow, with nearly perfect features that stunned even without makeup. The old lady was quite amazed, delighted at the thought of the excellent genes that would be passed down to future children.

Richard Shaw wasn’t in uniform; the man was in simple dress pants and a shirt, sitting in the car smoking. His handsome face was veiled in smoke, slightly pensive. When he saw Crystal get in, he instinctively snuffed out the cigarette, lest the young lady start vying to smoke with him again.

"What kind of cigarettes do you smoke? They don’t smell like mine," Crystal leaned in close, noting the subtle tobacco scent on him, and wrinkled her nose.

Richard Shaw’s face darkened, still daring to mention her smoking.

"Still smoking recently?" He squinted dangerously, his eyes piercing sharp like a weapon, exuding a sense of danger.

Her pretty little face drew near, revealing a pure yet charming smile as she coyly said, "I’m scared you might scold me again. I’ve been really good lately. Smell me, I don’t have any smoke odor."

She said as she leaned toward Richard Shaw.

The man immediately pushed her little head away, coldly snapping, "Sit properly, buckle up."

Seeing his unmoved expression, Crystal couldn’t help but rest her chin in her hands, curiously asking, "Richard, you can’t possibly have never been in a relationship, right? I can teach you how to date, really!"

Is he this clueless about romance, cold as a stone, toward just her, or to everyone?

Richard Shaw gave her a cool glance, saying indifferently, "Had plenty of boyfriends?"

"Just you," she replied, sticking out her pink little tongue with a playful smile.

The man’s expression darkened slightly and he didn’t continue the conversation.
