Chapter 855: Chapter 855: Stirring Brocade City into Chaos

Ignatius Leclair heard the commotion, and walked out to see his grandfather, looking furious with the butler. His expression subtly darkened, his phoenix eyes turned cold, and he glanced at Arthur White before stepping forward and coolly saying, "Grandfather, what brings you here?"

The old man looked at his handsome and tall eldest grandson, raised his cane and struck him on the back of his calf, scolding, "Look at the foolish things you’ve done."

Ignatius’s thin lips slightly turned downwards, enduring the hit silently.

Arthur White and the old butler hurriedly stepped forward to stop the old man, fortunately, the two children were still napping and weren’t startled.

The old man saw that Delphine looked to be in good health, and finally let out a sigh of relief. Such a good girl, if this boy made her fall ill, what would be done?

The old man was exasperated, having high hopes since childhood for his eldest grandson he loved the most. Ignatius was ambitious and outstanding in every way, except when it came to matters of the heart, where he was completely clueless and always acting rashly.

The old man wiped his tears, choking up, "It’s all misfortune. If it weren’t for your parents, you wouldn’t have turned out like this."

Ignatius saw his grandfather was genuinely upset, and finally murmured, "It was my mistake, Grandfather."

As he spoke, his phoenix eyes shifted towards Delphine, deep as cold stars, his expression remaining stern.

Delphine saw his deep gaze and knew it wasn’t an admission of guilt. He was merely speaking softly to comfort the old man. Ignatius probably thought his act of imprisoning her was perfectly justified.

Having spent these days with him from morning till night, Delphine knew all too well. On the surface, Ignatius appeared normal, his demeanor restrained and poised, but when it came to her personal freedom and intimacy, he grew increasingly domineering, leaving her feeling suffocated. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮

When it was time to leave, Ignatius kept his face gloomy and remained silent throughout.

The old man, fearing his eldest grandson might do something irrational, decided to let Delphine take the children and temporarily stay at the Leclair Estate.

Delphine couldn’t help but feel a bit grateful, seeing the familiar red house brought a touch of warmth.

She sent a message to Kyla Zamora, simply saying she wasn’t feeling well lately and now she’s back. Then she made a phone call to Griffith Squire, finally learning that Ignatius had stirred chaos in Brocade City to keep Griffith tied up. Seeing that Delphine was temporarily okay, Griffith headed to Brocade City.

"I’m heading back to Nanyang tomorrow. Damn, Ignatius Leclair is really sick in the head." Griffith sneered over the phone, "If it weren’t for you and the kids, I would’ve already turned against him."

"Is everything okay in Brocade City?" Delphine wondered if Ignatius had acted against his people there.

"It’s fine for now." Griffith didn’t elaborate, asked about her condition, then arranged his return to Nanyang for the next day.

After Griffith’s call ended, Chloe Winston’s phone call came through. The young girl was both surprised and relieved, saying, "Delphine, you finally have news. I thought something happened to you; the whole crew was worried sick."

Kyla had just relayed the news in the group that Delphine was fine. Delphine looked at her phone, and sure enough, more calls were coming in, warming her heart a bit, she smiled and said, "I’m alright, just feeling unwell these days, rather muddled and not very clear-headed."

"I thought you made Ignatius angry and he did something to you." Chloe murmured softly, then switched topics, asking, "Delphine, is the movie still being filmed?"

Delphine hesitated for a moment before saying, "Filming for the movie is paused, I’ll notify everyone when it resumes."

After reassuring Chloe, Delphine didn’t take any more calls, pressing her aching temples. Although she had returned to the Leclair Estate, she was still under Ignatius’s control. She had to wait until Griffith returned to make plans.
