The Trending Topic Herself: The Villainess is the Superstar!-Chapter 173: The End
As soon as the wig pressed down on her head, she couldn’t help but put on a sullen face.
But when she noticed the camera panning towards her, she hurriedly forced a smile.
The guests of the Yellow Team had finished changing outfits and were all ready with their looks. As the curtain slowly opened, the members of the Yellow Team gradually made their appearance.
James Wallace was the youngest in FREE, and he was also the one who loved to show off the most.
He almost instantly covered his face with his hand: "Everyone, just pretend you didn’t see me, oh my god!" As he looked down, he could see the embroidered bean shoes on his feet.
James Wallace was completely devastated: "How can there be such ugly shoes and such ugly clothes, I... Ugh... For the first time, I feel that red shoes are so ugly... Ugh..."
Julian Caldwell patted his shoulder, his face slightly blushing with shyness.
Brian Bennett, who had been in variety shows for many years, first did an exaggerated catwalk in that outfit, then couldn’t help but laugh: "Hahaha, actually once you wear it, it’s not that hard to accept."
Bella Sanford said sincerely: "Brother Brian, I simply can’t look directly at you anymore!"
"Is that so, hahaha!"
Alisa Shelby had a little idea and shielded herself behind the guests in front, barely revealing half of her face.
Coincidentally, she was right in front of Kiki Monroe, with whom she had been at odds for a while now.
Kiki Monroe was already forcing a smile standing there, and upon seeing Alisa Shelby actually using her as a shield, she was instantly furious.
"What are you hiding for? No matter how you hide, you can’t cover up your big face, shameless!"
Kiki Monroe’s voice was kept very low, only audible to the two in conversation.
Kiki Monroe, having been down on her luck recently, took the opportunity to vent her pent-up frustration on Alisa Shelby.
Alisa Shelby was slightly taken aback, seeming not to have heard such harsh words before.
"You..."
"Weren’t you always trying to hog the camera? Come on, stand in front of me!"
Alisa Shelby was infuriated, letting out a muffled grunt from her chest: "I won’t bother with a country bumpkin like you who only knows how to flap her gums!"
Country bumpkin...
Kiki Monroe’s face changed drastically; having been brought back to The Monroe Family from the countryside, she was most sensitive to those two words.
Kiki Monroe gritted her teeth, filled with hatred: "Just wait, one day I will make you kneel and beg for mercy while crying! I’ll make you suffer and pay for everything you’ve done today!!"
Alisa Shelby scoffed coldly.
Maya Monroe stood not far from Kiki, hearing Kiki’s harsh words clearly due to her sharp senses.
Still as melodramatic as always...
Maya couldn’t help but show a slight smile, the small red mole on her nose seemed even more alluring and enchanting under the light. Her crimson lips curled up, adding a touch of mischief.
Alisa Shelby inadvertently glanced at Maya Monroe, and jealousy rose uncontrollably inside her.
Brian Bennett said: "Alright, seeing that everyone has changed into their outfits..." He took a few steps forward, then turned to look at the Yellow Team’s guests: "Actually, looking at it like this... the outfit style is quite nice!"
"Next is our performance time, please enjoy the song and dance performance brought to you by the Yellow Team’s guests! Come, give them a round of applause!"
Maya and the other Red Team members found a secluded place to sit, so as not to affect the Yellow Team’s performance.
The lights dimmed, and when they came back on, it was a colorful display and energetic music, slightly more humorous than at the start.
Sitting on the bench watching the show, Maya causally crossed her legs.
Winning feels pretty good, at least there’s no need to waste energy on some lousy dance!
The Yellow Team’s guests took the stage one by one, with FREE mainly handling the singing, and Brian Bennett was the most enthusiastic dancer among them, unrestrained in the least. Meanwhile, Kiki Monroe and Alisa Shelby, who had been conspicuously competing at the beginning, as if they couldn’t wait to stomp their shoes to pieces, were now much quieter, standing like quails not daring to move.
Maya watched with interest and couldn’t help but find their expressions the most amusing.
Her gaze swept over them and suddenly stopped on Miles Wallace.
Miles Wallace’s attire wasn’t very different from the others, except he wasn’t wearing a towering beehive wig. A few strands of fake hair covered half of his brow, faintly exuding a hint of mystery, and the purple lip gloss seemed less obtrusive.
Of course, what attracted Maya wasn’t these things; she noticed the sudden settling of his aura when he played, his eyes reflecting only the instrument in his hands and the stage.
Maya’s eyes showed a hint of admiration, purely out of appreciation; she had always found people who were deeply focused to be rare.
Suddenly, Leo Lancaster’s voice came from beside her: "Miles Wallace - quite a hardworking person, little Maya seems to have a good impression of him."
His voice was light, but the humor in his tone was much less.
"He can dedicate all his attention to everything around him, which I think is quite a remarkable talent..." Maya propped her chin with one hand, murmuring.
"Is that so?" Leo Lancaster smiled, but the smile didn’t reach his eyes: "I think so too, seems like we have similar tastes..."
Maya nodded, then without any attachment, she withdrew her gaze, looking down as she idly fiddled with her sleeve.
After the dance ended, the Yellow Team hurriedly went backstage to change clothes.
Maya also changed into a more casual outfit. She was initially reluctant: "We’re leaving soon, why change into another outfit for just a short while?"
Ryan Spencer circled behind her to adjust her hat: "That’s just the show’s rules, you see everyone else dressed like butterflies?"
Maya appeared on stage once again, seeming well-behaved for the fleeting moment before she was to head home. She made a rare, proper bow, then eagerly withdrew to the backstage amidst the audience’s cheers.
Returning backstage, Maya found no trace of Ryan Spencer.
Scott and the other two assistants brought over a coat for her: "It’s getting cold in the evening, Ryan specifically instructed us to make sure you dress warmly."
"Where’s Ryan?"
"Oh... Ryan, he suddenly received an urgent call and left in a hurry, telling me to ensure you get home safely before he left."
Maya nodded: "Then let’s go."
The assistants immediately began packing up Maya’s bag.
Just as they were about to leave, they encountered Leo Lancaster coming in, followed by his manager, Rose Adler.
"Little Maya, Ryan left, didn’t he? I haven’t chatted with you in a long time, how about we leave together?"
