Chapter 91: Eren vs Floor Boss (1)

Looking at the data that Useless had created, Eren covered his mouth with one hand while the other tapped against his knee, showing how deep in thought he was. His eyes scanned the detailed information displayed on the floating screen.

What Eren had requested from his System was a full record and analysis of the battle against the Predator Ghoul in the Valoria Legends game. It was something that should’ve been impossible—mainly because the game’s mechanics were vastly different from the real world. For example, there was no mention of Signets or Status Blessings within the game.

The only stat-based information shown for characters or monsters were basic RPG elements like HP, ATK, DEF, Mana, Crit Rate, and Crit Damage.

This limitation didn’t only apply to characters, but to monsters as well. That meant Useless had to do more than just copy information from the game—it had to gather and compare real combat data. Fortunately, it had already recorded every battle Eren had fought while progressing through the dungeon: from the low-level skeletons to the more advanced ghouls. After comparing them with their in-game counterparts, Useless had managed to generate close estimations of the boss floor’s stats, based on Eren’s extensive gameplay—he had fought the Predator Ghoul over forty times.

According to the new data, the Predator Ghoul was a level 5 monster with all of its stats exceeding 300. As a speed-type boss, its agility and attack speed were extremely high, but its defense was noticeably weaker. That made it dangerous in short bursts but vulnerable if caught during cooldown periods.

Right now, Eren was focusing primarily on its speed. The Predator Ghoul’s Agility stat was estimated to be between 380 and 410. In contrast, his own Agility was sitting around 130 (since his previous stats was max out before Awakening) which is impressive for a Level 1 Awakener, especially one whose stats were already maxed before leveling. His unique status allowed him to be far faster than normal beginners, but even so, he was still far behind the boss in raw speed.

However, Eren had an idea. If he maxed out all his base stats and then leveled up, his stat cap would increase, allowing him to boost his Agility again. And with the right combination of speed-based equipment or magic artifacts to supplement his natural stats, he might not need to surpass the boss in speed—just reach a close enough level to react and counter its movements more reliably.

After a moment of silent contemplation, Eren finally made up his mind. He looked toward the floating screen next to him.

"Useless."

[Yes?!] The system responded eagerly.

"Prepare to convert the SP. It’s time to level up my stats again," Eren said with a calm, stoic expression and half-lidded eyes.

A warm sensation flowed through Eren’s chest for a brief moment before fading away. He calmly glanced back at the screen, watching as Useless handled everything for him.

[The process is complete.]

Clenching his fist quickly, Eren noticed an immediate change in both his strength and speed.

[Master, would you like to max out all your base stats again?] Useless asked.

Turning his attention to the holographic screen of the system, Eren checked his status.

Looking over his full status, Eren noted that all his base stats had been reset to zero again as he now a level 2 Awakener. Yet, he couldn’t help but smirk as he noticed both his Deception and Swordsmanship abilities had leveled up.

His eyes soon landed on the magic section. True Illusion Magic had reached its max level, meaning it could be upgraded—but what truly shocked him after was the new magic listed underneath it.

"This is...?"

The Next Day...

It was the 25th day since entering the Aberration Dungeon. Dressed in his combat gear, Eren secured his vambraces, greaves, and chestplate. A sleek sword hung at his waist, and he adjusted his gloves with a calm, practiced motion. The familiar green glow of the system’s holographic screen hovered beside him.

"Useless, did you prepare everything I asked for?"

[Y-Yes! I bought everything from the list in the system shop, just as you instructed, Master,] Useless replied in a slightly nervous tone, though there was a hint of unease underneath.

Hearing that everything was ready, Eren turned his gaze to the large stone door—the final gate to the last floor. The boss awaited behind it.

As he approached, he placed a firm hand on the cold stone, ready to push it open. But before he could, Useless’s trembling voice echoed in his head.

[M-Master... Are you really sure about this? It’s extremely risky.]

Eren raised an eyebrow, puzzled by the sudden concern.

"What’s with you acting all worried like I’m marching to my death? Shouldn’t you be happy I’m finally taking a fight seriously?"

Useless hesitated when it heard that. But what he said was true. All this time, Useless felt annoyed and disappointed at Eren had taken the lazy route, always lounging around, exploiting every system shortcut, and using the most easy way to finish the job. But this time was different.

Because Eren had done something unusual: he requested a new side quest. A more complicated, harder, and the most dangerous quest that Useless has ever made.

---

[The Quest will begin the moment you enter the Boss Room.]

---

The system notification blinked steadily, confirming Useless had generated the quest exactly as Eren had asked.

With a deep breath and a strong push, Eren opened the stone gate and stepped through. The moment he crossed the threshold, the door slammed shut behind him.

–Shut!

Unfazed, Eren focused his eyes on the new environment. He stood in a wide, cavernous chamber—classic boss room vibes, with a dim crystals on the walls cast a dull, eerie glow.

It looked exactly like the boss room from the game.

Except...

A sickly thick green mist clung to the air, radiating a foul stench everywhere in the room.

"Ugh... why does it smell like rotten sewage in here?" Eren muttered, covering his nose with one hand. He reached into his inventory to grab a mask—but before he could pull it out, a system notification popped up.

----

[You have entered the Boss Room of the Aberration Dungeon.]

[The Quest will now begin.]

[WARNING: Some quest parameters have changed.]

Eren’s eyes narrowed when he saw the last notification.

[Quest Title Updated!]

[Old Title: "Slay the Boss of the Aberration Dungeon, The Predator Ghoul"]

[New Title: "Slay the Boss of the Aberration Dungeon, The Abyssal Reaper"]

Just as he read the new name of the Boss, a loud slicing sound cut through the air.

–Slash!

–BOOM!

A massive dark slash came from above, striking the ground where Eren had just stood. He narrowly dodged it, though his right shoulder wasn’t so lucky—as he received a cut, with blood oozed from a shallow gash.

As the dust cleared, Eren gritted his teeth, clutching his injured shoulder and glaring upward.

Descending slowly from above was a terrifying humanoid figure. It had large dark wings spread wide as it hovered, while also clutching a massive black scythe.

Seeing the monster, Useless’s voice cracked with panic.

[Master! You need to get out of here!]

"Huh? What are you talking about?"

Useless shouted as it was busy analyzing the monster.

[That thing—That monster is Level 6!]

Eren’s eyes widened when he heard that. Then, as if to confirm it, another system notification appeared.
