Chapter 84: Aberration Dungeon (1)

[Destination: The Demon Realm.]

His eyes widened slightly for a brief second before returning to his usual stoic expression.

"Hm... That makes sense," he murmured, shrugging.

"And the door?"

[It’s exactly what we’ve been searching for: the entrance to the Aberration Dungeon.]

Finally! After all this time, Eren had finally reached it!

"I see," he said simply.

He then pulled out another magic scroll—this one imbued with light magic. Activating it, the room brightened significantly as magical illumination replaced the need for the handheld flashlight. Eren let out a small sigh of relief and tossed the flashlight back into his inventory.

If Useless had a face, it would’ve slapped itself as it wished its Master would learn or buy some magic skills.

"Can this thing be deactivated?" he asked, pointing at the magic circle.

[Yes. You simply need to break the formation.]

Without hesitation, Eren bought a giant war hammer from the System Shop—one as tall as himself—and lifted it above his head, preparing to smash the edge part of the arcane circle into rubble.

But just before he could bring the hammer down, he froze.

Useless felt confused when it saw its Master stop.

[Master? is there a problem?]

Just as it tried to ask again, Useless paused as it saw a wicked grin crept onto Eren’s face. One so mischievous and sinister that it immediately recognized the danger.

The green holographic screen trembled slightly as the system whispered in dread:

[Oh no.]

...

A few minutes later, there were now thousands of TNTs stacked neatly on top of the magic circle. Enough explosives to flatten a city, or perhaps even vaporize a small kingdom.

Useless couldn’t help but speak up, its tone full of concern and disbelief.

[Master, is this even necessary? Why would you do that for?]

Eren, holding a compact bomb with a ticking timer, began rotating the key to activate it.

"For fun," he replied flatly, not even blinking, before casually tossing the activated bomb into the pile of explosives. The digital timer blinked and began to count down ominously.

With everything in place, he calmly stepped forward and placed one foot onto the magic circle. The moment his foot touched it, the intricate carvings of the circle began to glow brilliantly, reacting to his presence. A second later, just before the teleportation could activate fully, he casually lifted his foot off.

–VOOOM! fгeewebnovёl.com

In an instant, all the TNT disappeared—teleported elsewhere—leaving behind only the echo of ticking silence.

"Hm... I wonder who’s going to be on the other side," he murmured to himself with a neutral expression.

Sadly—or perhaps fortunately—the answer to that question would not be revealed for several years... or several Chapters.

...

After safely breaking the magic circle’s formation, Eren finally turned his attention back to the ancient stone door. Placing both hands firmly against it, he pushed with force.

The heavy dungeon door creaked open slowly, revealing a yawning black entrance that radiated nothing but ominous foreboding.

He took a few steps inside, and then—

—BANG!

The door slammed shut behind him with a thunderous echo.

"That was dramatic," he muttered dryly as he glanced over his shoulder. The darkness ahead was thick—so dark that even his eyes couldn’t adjust.

Just as he was about to pull out his flashlight again, the walls around him began to glow softly. Dim green light slowly spread from mysterious crystals embedded in the walls.

Looking around more carefully, Eren noted the architecture. The tunnel resembled a natural cave—organic walls, uneven ceiling, and the faint scent of damp earth. Despite being called the Aberration Dungeon, this place felt like a typical fantasy dungeon... just a bit weirder.

A long tunnel stretched forward, fading into complete darkness.

Without hesitation, Eren began walking forward at a relaxed pace, entirely unfazed by the eerie atmosphere. As he walked, he casually pulled out his game console and opened up Valoria Legends.

He loaded his saved data and opened the in-game entry for the Aberration Dungeon.

"Let’s see..." he muttered, scrolling through the menu. Soon he found a section labeled: Dungeon Description.

The Aberration Dungeon is a trial-type dungeon that was once a regular dungeon but has since been transformed through artificial means. While it’s categorized as a trial dungeon, in practice, it’s more of a pri—

"Skip that," Eren interrupted himself, scrolling past the wall of text until he reached the monster section.

As the name suggested—Aberration—the monsters here were all variants of undead. But not the usual skeletons or zombies. These creatures were undead in the most unsettling, twisted ways.

—Clack. Clack.

A sharp noise echoed through the tunnel.

Eren immediately stopped walking.

From the pitch-black shadows ahead, a white figure emerged, its footsteps echoing against the cave floor.

A skeleton.

The first monster of the dungeon had appeared.

But this wasn’t just any skeleton. Unlike the common undead you might find in games or light novels, this one was... wrong. Deeply wrong.

It resembled a human skeleton slightly, but there were glaring differences. It had only one arm, sharp fang-like teeth, and a skull that had four eye sockets. From each of those sockets, eerie green light flickered with life.

"So... you’re my first opponent, huh?" Eren muttered, calmly closing his game console and storing it back into his inventory. He then drew his sword with one hand, keeping his eyes fixed on the twisted creature.

—Clack. Clack.

The skeletal monster slowly approached, dragging its bone feet with unsettling rhythm. Eren stood firm, raising his sword without urgency, waiting.

Then, just as it reached within ten feet—

—SWOOSH!

The skeleton lunged at inhuman speed, slashing with its lone arm, claws sharp like daggers.

Eren tilted his head slightly to the side, dodging it with ease.

—Slice!

However, the monster’s claws grazed Eren’s neck, drawing blood. A thin red line trailed down from the wound.

Despite this, Eren’s expression didn’t change. He looked completely unfazed, as if pain was an afterthought.

"I see... it’s about twice as fast as me," he said calmly.

But the one who got cut wasn’t the real Eren.

The injured body flickered and vanished into particles—it was an illusion clone.

The real Eren appeared a few meters behind the skeleton, standing casually as he watched it from behind.

He had used an illusion spell to test the monster’s speed—and now, with the data gathered, he opened his status window and distributed his stat points that he haven’t used.

With a swift thought, he dumped all 20 points into Agility.

After boosting his agility stat, Eren decided it was time for a rematch. He stood casually in place, hands relaxed at his sides, as he waited for the skeleton to make the first move.

–Clack clack.

Just like before, the bony creature approached with its eerie, hollow steps. When it was about ten feet away, it suddenly launched itself forward, swinging its jagged claws with lethal intent.

But this time, Eren dodged it with ease, shifting his body slightly to the side like it was a light breeze passing by. No scratches. No injuries.

"Again," he muttered, a little grin tugging at the corner of his lips.

He repeated the dodges several times, weaving left and right, stepping back just enough, sometimes spinning slightly to add a bit of flair. Each movement helped him grow more accustomed to the monster’s erratic rhythm.

After dodging it for the seventh time, Eren let out a sigh as if saying, Alright, enough playing around. He unsheathed his sword in one smooth motion, the steel gleaming faintly under the dungeon’s dim green crystal light.

–Clack clack!

The skeleton shrieked through its open jaw and pounced again, claws ready to rip him apart. But this time, Eren deflected the blow with a swift swing of his sword, steel clashing against bone.

–Clang!

–Slash!

With a clean strike, he sliced across the skeleton’s neck as he passed by it in a swift motion. His feet barely made a sound as he landed behind it.

He paused, sword lowered, thinking it was done.

–Clack clack!

But that familiar sound made him freeze. Slowly, he turned his head.

"...You’ve got to be kidding me," he said with a twitch in his eyebrow.

The skeleton was still standing. Despite the clean cut, its neck spine remained intact. The head was lolling awkwardly, and the slice was visible, but somehow it just wasn’t enough.

"Bruh. Seriously?" he muttered, face deadpan.

Without a second thought, he casually threw his sword at the skeleton like a dart.

–Shosh!

–Stuck!

The blade embedded itself into the monster’s neck-spine, making the creature jerk in weird spasms as it tried to reach back and pull it out.

Eren narrowed his eyes. "Let me help you with that."

He sprinted forward, jumped into the air, and delivered a dramatic flying kick to the hilt of the sword.

–Thud!

The impact drove the blade straight through the neck joint, finally severing the skull from the body. The head tumbled to the ground with a rolling bounce, while the now-headless body crumpled like a pile of discarded bones.

Eren picked up his sword, dusted it off, and gave a satisfied nod.

Then—

–Clack clack...

He turned slowly and saw the skull. Just the skull.

Its eyes were still glowing green. Its jaw was clicking as it scraped across the ground, dragging itself forward like a cursed wind-up toy.

Eren stared at it, with a deadpan.face.

"...Are you serious?" he muttered in disbelief, eyes turning completely dulling.
