Chapter 133: Chapter 130: No Time to Play With You!

"How dare you speak to me like that? I’m your employer! You’d better remember your place!"

Hearing his harsh words and mocking tone, the perpetually proud Li Wenxuan scowled, her expression turning icy. However, Qin Fan completely ignored her, treating her as if she were invisible.

He strode forward two large steps, interrupting Zhuge Lai, who was about to break the entrance Array. "Master Lai, save your strength. Let me handle this."

"Alright, Master Qin. In that case, I won’t embarrass myself. Please, be my guest," Zhuge Lai said with a sheepish smile, also pointedly ignoring Li Wenxuan.

As he nodded, a torrential surge of Mixed Element True Qi burst forth from his Dantian. To Qin Fan, breaking an Array laid by Fortune Tellers and Magicians was a matter of a single punch. If that wasn’t enough, it would only take one more.

Through his Eyes of Golden Flame, Qin Fan clearly saw an invisible, web-like barrier shimmering at the entrance. He scanned it briefly before aiming a punch at the spot where the invisible fluctuations were most turbulent.

Without a sound, Qin Fan’s punch, carrying fifty percent of his power, failed to break through the web.

Interesting. It seems this Array has some tricks up its sleeve, he mused.

"COUGH! COUGH! Well, Master Qin, just so you know, this Array was set by more than ten Fortune Tellers and Magicians over three days and nights a few years ago. It was meant to prevent the beasts with Spiritual Wisdom inside from escaping and causing trouble, so it’s quite sturdy," Zhuge Lai explained.

I can’t fathom Qin Fan’s true strength, but everyone has their own area of expertise. Even Hua Xiaotian, the foremost expert in Huaxia’s Martial Arts, would struggle to break this Array. Martial Arts and Face Reading are different disciplines. Although one could argue they are different paths to the same end, the distinctions between them are still significant. Shatter the Array with his bare fists? That seems utterly improbable. However, that’s not something I can say to Qin Fan.

"Oh, is that so?" Qin Fan smiled faintly.

The next moment, he threw a second punch with seventy percent of his strength.

Amidst a sudden, thunderous blast, Zhuge Lai stared, dumbfounded and in utter disbelief.

This... this... My eyes aren’t deceiving me, are they? Did Qin Fan just shatter the Array with two punches? An Array that took more than ten Fortune Tellers and Magicians three days and three nights to create?

Recalling what he had just been thinking, Zhuge Lai felt his face burn with embarrassment amidst his disbelief.

I basically offered up my own face for him to slap!

"Master Lai, to be honest, if the fierce beasts inside really possess Spiritual Wisdom, then this so-called Array of yours is completely useless," Qin Fan said with a smile, ignoring Zhuge Lai’s embarrassment as he strode inside. His curiosity about the mysteries within was growing. If some beasts with Spiritual Wisdom truly wanted to escape, this pathetic Array would, at most, only withstand a few of their coordinated charges.

"Master Qin, what do you mean? Did we analyze the situation incorrectly? That’s impossible! While I may be untalented and my perspective limited, I wouldn’t make a mistake as fundamental as misidentifying Spiritual Wisdom!" Zhuge Lai said anxiously, his aged brows furrowed as he quickly recovered from his embarrassment.

"I don’t know. Whatever it is, we’ll find out once we’re inside. Master Lai, follow behind me and keep an eye on this burden." Qin Fan quirked his lip and walked straight toward the mysterious depths. He hadn’t gone far, however, when his brow furrowed deeply.

What’s going on? Within the range of my Divine Sense, I can’t detect the aura of any fierce beasts, only some insignificant creatures.

"Master Qin, what’s wrong?" Zhuge Lai asked immediately, sensing something was amiss.

"Are you sure there are fierce beasts here? Or was it just your imagination?" Qin Fan asked, stopping in his tracks and frowning with his back to them.

Before Zhuge Lai could answer, Li Wenxuan blurted out, "I’m positive! The group of Fortune Tellers, Magicians, and Martial Artists I brought were definitely killed by those beasts! Otherwise, how could my entire party have been wiped out without a single survivor? I even heard them roaring from outside!"

"Master Qin, it couldn’t have been an illusion," Zhuge Lai chimed in. "I’ve navigated the Martial World for many years; I can certainly tell the difference. The fierce beasts were real."

"Heh, this is getting more and more interesting." Qin Fan revealed a meaningful smile and lightly swept his foot toward Li Wenxuan.

"Fuck! You’re kicking me? Are you crazy? I’m your employer! Do you realize what you’re doing?!" After being mocked, neglected, ignored, and now kicked, Li Wenxuan’s spoiled-miss temper finally erupted.

Too lazy to argue with her, Qin Fan said indifferently, "Go on, scream or sing a song. Let’s see if we can draw those creatures out."

Draw out the fierce beasts? Upon hearing this, Zhuge Lai and Li Wenxuan both froze.

"Qin Fan, are you insane or just playing dumb? My goal is the Life Extending Fruit, not those beasts! Shit!" Li Wenxuan rebuked him sharply.

"If there really are fierce beasts here, do you think you can just waltz in and get the Life Extending Fruit? We’re damned if we do and damned if we don’t, so we might as well face them head-on and get it over with," Qin Fan said.

Li Wenxuan was left speechless by his words, her expression shifting repeatedly in the darkness. She took a deep breath. "Even if we need to draw out the beasts, why should it be my voice and not yours? Don’t forget, I am your employer!"

"Do you still want the Life Extending Fruit or not?" Qin Fan retorted sarcastically. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

"You—!"

Not giving her a chance to finish, Qin Fan pressed, "Yes or no!"

"Fine! Fine! Fine!" Li Wenxuan seethed, gritting her teeth. The chill on her face intensified as she faced the darkness ahead and unleashed all her emotions in a torrent of screams.

"AH! AH! AH!!!"

"Pathetic. Louder!" Qin Fan said, though he thought better of kicking her again.

Just then, his ears twitched. Within his Divine Sense, he detected a group of enormous beasts bursting out of a cave and charging toward them at incredible speed.

With a nonchalant laugh, Qin Fan stopped Li Wenxuan. "That’s enough screaming. The beasts are making their entrance."

Making their entrance? The darkness is dead silent. This is what he calls ’making an entrance’? Damn it! That bastard is just messing with me!

Whipping her head around, Li Wenxuan demanded angrily, "Are you toying with me?"

"I don’t have time to toy with you. If you don’t want to die, get back and stay close to Master Lai."

His flippant demeanor vanished, replaced by a solemn one. At that moment, Qin Fan was not only interested in the charging beasts, but also in the cave he had detected with his Divine Sense—it seemed to hold a great mystery.

This trip to Shennongjia is finally getting interesting.
