The Red Dragon Just Wants To Do As It Pleases-Chapter 479 - 283: The Dragon Returns Home With Head Held High (Part 2)
Um, Court Mage Menekver, who had just stepped through the Teleportation Gate and witnessed this scene, was quite disheveled but did not immediately approach.
The moment he leaves, the Teleportation Gate will surely be destroyed. Moreover, at this very moment, the Mana Energy level exhibited by the two Red Dragons—David Uthos and the other one—is not something an old man like him, long retired from the academy, can handle. It could very well backfire. If both Red Dragons were to turn on him, he, nearly six hundred years old, might well meet his end here.
This old Elf’s cautious nature and his professional integrity of ’it definitely can’t be my fault’ gave David precious time to make tactical adjustments and attempts.
Seeing that the critical time was dwindling, David, once again forcibly freed by the Dragon Mother, twisted his head mid-air to survey his surroundings. His eyes lit up upon seeing Lizrite, who had always been "petite," and he immediately said to Alicia, "Alicia! Lend your ancestral necklace to Lizrite!"
Before the Silver Dragon Princess could even respond, David turned to the Red Dragon in the sky and continued shouting, "Lizrite! Come! I’ll create an opportunity for you. Burrow into your mum’s belly and yank out that damned thing she swallowed! That’s the only way to save your crazy Dragon Mother!"
"What?" Lizrite listened, her face blank with confusion.
Her? Burrow back into her mother’s belly? This...
"How am I supposed to burrow in there?!" For a moment, Lizrite felt like either David had gone mad again or she herself had lost her sanity.
"Otherwise, I’ll pin her down, and you can enter through your mother’s cloaca! No time left! Hurry!"
"AARGH!!!" The difficult situation of being stuck on the dragon made Lizrite feel as if her head was about to burst into flames. With a furious roar, she dove toward her mother on the ground.
"Lizrite! Catch." Alicia, without any hesitation, ripped off her family’s ancestral Mind Protection Necklace and threw it directly at the Red Dragon.
Lizrite, so wronged she was nearly bursting into tears, caught it in her mouth.
But just as everything was ready, and they were merely waiting for an opportunity for Lizrite, the free-roaming dragon, to boldly return to her origin, it so happened that this mother-in-law—perhaps because David had nearly impaled her twice—unexpectedly began to try and flee, despite the Dragon Madness that should have driven her to fight fearlessly to the death.
This attempt to flee utterly disgusted David.
Luckily for him, he was quick.
With all six Sky-Intelligence engines at full throttle, he landed on the Dragon Mother’s back again, ramming the furious Flameclaw down.
"Get down, you!"
The two Red Dragons once again tangled in a fight at the foot of the mountain.
Yet, amidst this chase and evasion, the Teleportation Gate stirred once more, and three figures, clearly covered in the dust of travel, emerged one after another.
They were the ’familiar faces’ who had ambushed David in the battle at the canyon years ago: Vileili and Bradimir, the God-Favored of Lebrilas, the God of Destiny and History, and Rilifen, the God of the Elven Forest, respectively. And Leopold, the Chosen of God of Feimar, The Wandering God. They had most likely just returned from the front lines of battle with the Dwarves at Eight Peaks Mountain.
Bradimir, God-Favored of Rilifen, God of the Elven Forest, raised his ancient, rune-inscribed longbow the moment he stepped from the portal. Nocking an arrow, he closed his eyes and began to chant the name of Rilifen.
As the Elf God-Favored’s lips moved quietly, the arrow between his fingers began to emit a verdant divine light.
The moment he opened his eyes, his green gaze reflected the countless arrows’ star-like radiance. With a tightening of his arm, the bowstring was suddenly released, sending a WHOOSH through the air as it tore towards the sky.
The arrow split mid-air and, in an instant, became like a legion’s volley, the projectiles crisscrossing as they shot towards the two Red Dragons locked in combat.
"Damn!" Hearing the successive sounds of arrows cutting through the air, David, riding atop the Dragon Mother, grabbed her dragon horn and flipped them over, putting himself underneath and his mother-in-law above.
Amid a barrage of muted thuds, the sharp magic arrows tore through the air and struck dragon scales, emitting clear, hammer-like rings. David, too, was unavoidably struck by a few dozen arrows.
But it was the Dragon Mother who had clearly suffered the worse blow. Almost turned into a porcupine and reeling from the pain, she finally opened her mouth again. Seizing the opportunity, David forced her jaws apart with all his strength and roared, "Lizrite!!!"
But Leopold, the Chosen of The Wandering God, arrived even faster!
Facing the figure once again attacking him with an enchanted scimitar gleaming with light, David let out a ferocious grin of Wrath. "Scram!" Then, as his opponent’s elven blade was about to slash at his neck, David swept it away with the tip of his tail.
With a crisp CLANG, this Chosen of God was sent flying, blade and all, even faster than he had arrived. He turned into an ’elf ball’ that smashed through several successive peaks and disappeared from sight.
"Leopold!!!"
Clearly, the legendary elves had not expected this Red Dragon to become so ferocious in just a few short years.
Damn, do they really think I’m the same as I was four years ago!
David snorted with Arrogance. A moment later, his mother-in-law’s kick nearly knocked the wind out of him, and she almost broke free.
"Stop her!" It was Court Mage Menekver, who had the clearest understanding of the situation, who urgently began casting a spell.
But it was already too late. Attilicia and Alicia, the two Silver Dragons who also understood, moved to block.
For a moment, the scene was like a bullfighting ring where everyone was utterly focused. David was the matador, the Dragon Mother had become the attention-grabbing red flag in his grasp, and Lizrite was the bull, charging recklessly.
Towards her mother, the giant dragon, still drooling, slammed half her body straight in with a THUD.
Her mom was silenced on the spot by her own daughter’s impact, and her tail, which had been relentlessly whipping David, went limp.
After all this, the searing flames of Mana Energy on David’s body finally subsided, and he was kicked away by the Dragon Mother. Then, he was instantly frozen into an ice sculpture by the Blizzard cast by the God-Favored Elf.
Just as the High Elves thought they had finally stabilized the situation and let out a sigh of relief...
POP!
Lizrite, whose entire head seemed to glow with heat, was vomited out by her mother, clutching a similarly red-hot metal object.
"Da... David! I’ve got it!" Lizrite, somewhat stunned, held up the Mystlock in her claw. The expression in her eyes was a constant struggle; if not for the Mind Protection Necklace in her mouth taking effect, she might have already suffered the same fate as her mother.
"It really is the Dragon Mad Lock! Seize it!" the God-Favored Elf commanded the other elves.
But before they could rush over, David, who had vanished from the ice sculpture at some unknown point and reappeared as if sprouting from the ground, was suddenly beside Lizrite.
"Well done!" David patted Lizrite’s head—she seemed a bit nauseous and uncomfortable—with the tip of his tail. Then, using Fesentelerus’s Portal, he sent both the dragon and the Mystlock back to Tokamak Fortress in the Kutaro Desert, thousands of miles away.
The group of Neisser apprentices from hell were naturally unharmed. However, the lingering chaotic energies still inexplicably angered the Blue Dragons outside the fortress. These dragons, acting as draconic charging stations to earn rewards, erupted into an unprecedented brawl among themselves after just a few heated words.
「Meanwhile, in The Dark Mountains」
Seeing David had achieved his goal, Dragon Father Attilicia and the others did not linger in battle. In the blink of an eye, they rode the wind upward, distancing themselves from the elven legends.
David didn’t hurry to leave. Instead, he approached the legendary Dragon Mother, Flameclaw. She seemed somewhat dispirited after being freed from the Dragon Mad Lock. With an air of ’borrowing Dragon Might,’ David surveyed the elven legends and said, "Didn’t expect me to return, did you?"
David shamelessly caressed the back of his mother-in-law, Flameclaw, with his tail. "Mom! Kill these long-eared bastards trying to steal your treasure!"
"OUCH!!!" He was promptly kicked away by Flameclaw, who had now fully come to her senses.
Although the dragon was lucid, she still vaguely remembered some of what had happened.
That damn Red Dragon Whelp! He dared to openly call her ’Mom’ while repeatedly stabbing her throat, even varying his techniques. Her mouth was almost raw from the abrasion. But compared to him, these long-eared creatures were even more hateful!
At the mere thought of a tearful Lizrite and her two other children who had died by her own maw due to the Dragon Mad Lock, the eyes of Flameclaw Figaroa once again blazed with a fury no less than her earlier frenzy.
"RAWR!!!!!"
The Dragon’s Roar echoed through the heavens.
