The Red Dragon Just Wants To Do As It Pleases-Chapter 478 - 283: The Dragon Returns Home With Head Held High
Although Lizrite, spiraling high in the sky, felt a sense of urgency, she still perfectly executed the duty David entrusted to her:
The moment the Elf Court Mage Menekver arrived, or rather, just as the Elf had opened the Teleportation Gate, Lizrite detected him and doused him with a burst of Dragon Breath filled with fury.
However, the Court Mage, who was also prepared, extended a hand from the gate’s entrance and neutralized it with a magical barrier.
Seeing the Court Mage step calmly through the Teleportation Gate, Lizrite, aware that she was no match for him, heeded David’s instruction to immediately increase her altitude and signaled a warning to David and the others, who were engaged in fierce battle:
"Southwest! Teleportation Gate! An Elven legendary Mage is approaching!"
"Damn, that was quick?"
Although David was mentally prepared for this, he was still taken aback by the speed with which the Elven nuisances had arrived.
How idle must they be to "watch the map" all day?
Even top professional Starcraft players, known for their incredible map awareness, might not have such a fast response time.
And Lizrite’s mother is truly a handful!
Especially since this mother dragon became absurdly fixated on that Dragon Mad Lock. She instinctively identified it as David’s target and, in the middle of the fight, actually GULPED the thing down!
She practically roared, ’You shall not covet my treasure!’
David, in his state of Wrath, was so enraged he nearly split apart on the spot.
Seeing his critical time slipping away at a visible rate, and with the Elves arriving much faster than expected, David had to abandon his plan to subdue the mother dragon with ’unlimited firepower.’ Instead, he cast Arcane Time Distortion on himself.
I have to get that damn thing out of her first!
David, suspended midair, smashed into the mother dragon’s side, near her wing, like a meteorite.
Flameclaw, furious at the impact, reflexively snapped at David’s neck.
But David used his Authority—Sin of Lust to retract his head, becoming a neckless dragon and denying her a fatal weak spot.
Even the mother dragon, despite having lost her sanity due to dragon rage, was momentarily stunned by this bizarre tactic. She reluctantly settled for biting down on David’s head instead.
This was exactly what David wanted. He braced his claws against the mother dragon’s upper and lower jaws. Then, with his head already retracted turtle-style, he thrust it straight down her throat, snapping two of her fangs in the process.
He had underestimated the circumference of his own head, though.
Halfway in—damn it! Stuck!
Worse still, he couldn’t easily use his Authority to compress his head; he was afraid he’d turn into an imbecile on the spot...
The mother dragon, rammed by David’s aggressive maneuver, had her eyes rolling back and gagged continuously. Uncombusted lung-flame fluid trickled down from David’s muscular shoulder.
Entangled, the two of them spiraled from the sky and smashed onto the earth, unleashing a blast of hot wind and molten fragments. They instantly punched a deep crater through the ’fragile crust’ of The Dark Mountains, falling back into the tunnels of Flameclaw’s lair.
Then, in that cramped space, they began to tear into each other. Flameclaw, in particular, used her sharp wing-talons, ripping at David’s body as they both sought each other’s weaknesses.
Every collision and tear struck sparks from their scales. The terrifying Mana Energy constantly leaking from David caused the tunnel’s temperature to soar, and molten rock flowed like a boiling river beneath their feet.
Finally, the mother dragon, unable to bear being pinned in such an awkward and unbearable position by David, kicked him away with her hind legs.
David landed on all fours and shook his head, flinging off the saliva and gastric fluids that covered his face. He felt utterly frustrated.
Damn it all! He’d finally found an evenly matched opponent by exploiting the critical mode of some ignition effect, and what should have been a legendary battle worthy of a bard’s song had degenerated into *this* farce!
This would definitely make the top ten list of his dragon life’s most embarrassing moments.
And yet, time was of the essence.
He had no choice but to grit his teeth and go for it!
The mother dragon glared at him, still retching from an instinctual aftershock. Before she could recover and roar, David, swift as ever, lunged at her again. The impact triggered a thunderous landslide and a flow of molten mud.
Molten fragments slid from the volcano’s rim, raining down and striking the two dragons’ heads and bodies with resounding THUDS.
Having failed his first attempt, David changed his approach. The moment the mother dragon opened her mouth, he plopped himself down right onto her face.
Then, while pinning down her claws and wings, he shoved his tail into her mouth, forcing it down her esophagus and deep into her stomach with all his might:
"Spit it out, damn it! Seriously, is there anything you *won’t* try to eat? Do you still think you’re some adorable little Hatchling that every Dragon fawns over? Huh?"
Wrath.
But all he got in return was a searing pain in his rear—a pain so intense that even dragon adrenaline couldn’t block it. David roared, spewing a torrent of fire towards the sky:
"ROAR!!!"
Under the mother dragon’s furious assault, he even wondered if she would bite off a large chunk of his backside.
"..." Attilicia and Alicia, circling nearby to offer support, watched the two Red Dragons wrestling furiously. Since both combatants were Red Dragons, they were completely indistinguishable in the melee, and the onlookers had no idea how to help.
If they hadn’t witnessed the entire thing from start to finish, but had stumbled upon it midway, they might have actually believed they were watching two Red Dragons engaged in some bizarre kind of... ’play.’
