Chapter 369: Chapter 236: You’re Such a Tease

The commotion in the courtyard, as violent as an earthquake, tore a huge gap in the upper court of the Dragon Nest. Quicksand from the top of Sand Peak poured down like a waterfall, completely burying Blue Dragon Clan Leader Patrice, who had only just fallen asleep.

"PFFT!" Patrice poked his head out and snorted loudly, expelling the sand that had entered his lungs. With some annoyance, he demanded:

"What foolishness have those idiots in the courtyard committed now!?" Obviously, similar incidents have occurred before, but the ruckus this time is especially loud.

"They... they’re fighting again," a middle-aged Blue Dragon responsible for guarding the upper court replied, sounding somewhat helpless.

"Another mating season approaching?" Patrice asked.

"Correct. Only this time, it’s mostly because of that new Blue Dragon."

"Hmm, a sufficiently prideful young dragon. So, he got beaten up? Is he badly injured?" Patrice seemed unsurprised, just not expecting it to happen so soon.

Where there’s hierarchy, there’s bound to be struggles. However, most new Blue Dragons usually chose to bide their time, spending a while getting to know and integrate into a group or faction before issuing challenges upward.

Just as Patrice was about to retrieve his treasured Healing Scroll from the human kingdom and send his confidant to deliver it to the Blue Dragon to win his favor, he saw the guard’s troubled, constipated-like expression and inquired:

"What’s the problem?"

"Um... it was him who beat up the other dragons."

"What?"

Then, as Patrice stared in disbelief, the guard sighed and added:

"Or rather, he beat up nearly every young Blue Dragon in the courtyard. He didn’t even spare the juvenile dragons who came to watch the excitement, nor the female Blue Dragons... The brawl escalated, with a large group of Blue Dragons fighting all the way to the edge of the tunnel. This led to the Dragon Nest shattering and the courtyard collapsing..."

"Damn it!"

Patrice found this utterly absurd. He even beat up the female dragons! Wasn’t he afraid of not finding a mate when the ’Night of the Storm’ arrived?

A flicker of concern crossed his face. "What about the Hatchlings in the Lower Nest...?"

"Clan Leader, you can rest assured. During the disaster, Tanius, the other new Blue Dragon in the Lower Nest—his brother—used his Elemental Magic to support the sandstone structure of the Lower Court. Most of the Hatchlings were merely frightened and distressed. Some were burping and had diarrhea, but Lefilia, who is in charge of the Lower Court, soon calmed them."

"Hmm, well done." Patrice nodded, surprised but relieved.

With a light flick of his tail, the falling sand and rocks around him flowed back into the crack above. Under his expert Magic Power control, it was as if time reversed, and in an instant, the damage was undone, as if nothing had ever happened.

Seeing Patrice make no further comment, the middle-aged dragon cautiously inquired, "So, shall we punish him?"

"Why would we punish him?" Patrice glanced at him.

"This..." Of course, it’s because the newcomer caused such a disaster! the middle-aged Blue Dragon guardian thought, already aware he’d misspoken. Before he could attempt to remedy his words, he saw Patrice’s expression shift to a mixture of annoyance and a cold smirk.

"If I recall correctly, Patricio is your son, isn’t he?"

"..."

Patrice felt even more exasperated by their misfortune and angered by their lack of drive.

"With more than thirty young Blue Dragons from the courtyard, they couldn’t even win a group fight against a single newcomer! Pathetic! And they still have the gall to ask me to use my authority to punish and suppress him? Aren’t they ashamed? Don’t they feel like a disgrace to all dragons, hmm?"

The Dragon Court guardian, ever adaptable, immediately changed his tune. "Your reprimand is just, Clan Leader. Those idiots in the courtyard should be punished. I’ll intensify their combat cooperation training immediately."

"Hmph. First, make those idiots repair the courtyard." Otherwise, if the mating season arrives early, after the ’Night of the Storm,’ they won’t even have a dragon’s nest. They might have to hold a chaotic free-for-all.

"Yes!"

As he watched the Dragon Court guardian depart for the courtyard with his orders, Patrice, who was in his twilight years, sighed deeply.

Even though I’ve been living out my Legendary Destiny for many years, now that I’m in extreme old age, I need more and more sleep. For the entire Dragon Nest, I’m practically just a deterrent against outsiders. I hardly have time for other things, like personally training and guiding outstanding younger members. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮

He reminisced. Back when I was a young dragon, the dragons in the courtyard weren’t nearly this weak.

He had to admit, that young Blue Dragon named ’Carlatruca’ is indeed strong. But to be ’utterly annihilated’ by a dragon from Toriel! Something like this would have been unimaginable in the past! Damn it, what a bunch of useless fools.

Fortunately, two ’decent’ ones have finally arrived. It’s like a shallow sea full of clownfish suddenly had two sharks appear; the whole school is bound to become more active now.

But for such a stroke of luck to fall right into our Olivalyres clan’s lap... and two of them at once, no less! Could it really be...?

Patrice had rarely encountered such good fortune in his entire life; it all felt rather unreal.

He thought for a moment, then abandoned the idea of seeking the Chromatic Dragon Queen’s advice. That ’consultation fee’ is too expensive! It’s downright agonizing!

Then, he personally cast Divination several times, though it wasn’t his area of expertise.

The divination results were chaotic, but thankfully, none indicated any extremely dire outcomes. Relieved, Patrice buried his head and resumed his deep sleep.
