The Princess's Dangerous Vampire Mate-Chapter 383: The real idol - I
At first, Marilyn and I decided to go for the ladies who were extremely close and considered family. They were Tristan’s aunt and Marilyn’s mother-in-law.
They were close and I knew them personally, which did not make me feel afraid. However, I dreaded meeting the meeting anyway. I had finished another bowl of soup that Irene had convinced me for and I could not be more thankful.
The moment Irene had sent for them, they appeared at my door. I only had time to make it to the sitting room to host them.
Camille was smiling, very rightly, which was something I now understood as a personality trait for her whereas Chiara on the other hand, just appeared to be happy and proud. That might be her personality too. She was someone would be be prideful than happy,
"Eat, eat more." Camille passed me the cut fruit that she had brought with her. "The more you eat, the more healthy you will be."
"Thank you." I smiled and took it from her. I picked up the berry and nibbled on it.
My tongue was still savory from the soup that I had consumed and eating something sweet over it such as a fruit did not seem very appetizing. However, I did not decline her after she had made an effort.
"I told her that we should bring you something with more spices but then Camille reminded me that the light you eat right now, is better for you." Chiara added.
Her eyes had been very frequently, glancing at my neck. She seemed pleased with it and did not hide what she felt even if it was uncomfortable for me.
"It is beautiful," she whispered, "it suits you, Genevive. I must say that you will be a very beautiful vampire, someone a lot of people will admire for as long as you will live."
Wow, I barely was able to control my eyebrows from shooting up to the ceiling. What was that?
Marilyn nodded. "Compliment." She mouthed.
Ah, I see. In fact, I was sure that I had never had such a compliment nor was I ever going to. Hopefully.
Still, I gave chiara a smile.
"I heard about it from my maid first. I refused to believe it, Tristan was never that pushy when I came to you. It just finally happened and I am so very, very happy. You cannot imagine how much. It seems like all of my children have found a partner and if Death comes to me, I can pass away."
"Oh hush," Camille waved her hand as if slapping a chiara from where she was sitting, "As soon as Lara has a child you will demand one from Tristan as well. It is going to be a never ending cycle for you!"
I lowered my head to hide my smile. Chiara seemed to have caught in her own making.
She just raised her chin proudly instead. "I ask for what I want. This life is all I have and since all my children are settled and grandchildren are the next thing on the list."
Chiara looked at me. "Am I wrong? I started as a baby, then a lady, then a woman who had found her beloved, after which I became a woman with a child, and now that child has found her beloved. The next step becomes to be grandparents to a baby as the cycle Repeats itself."
One thing I noticed about Chiara is that she was not afraid of anything. I word for very precise and well communicated. Like she had thought of what she wanted to say and knew the words that she was going to use. It was very easy to see how important she was in the court. If it was his uncle Dominique controlled the court, then for the females it was her.
She had grown up very much from the woman that I had seen when I was unconscious. That woman was brash, loud and aggressive but this Chiara was centered, calm and intelligent.
She was what I had dreamed Ana— 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
"Anyway," Camille interrupted my train of thoughts, "do you want to go out? No one will meet you unless you want to. But I think it might be good to move those legs."
I did find difficulty in walking initially. It was still difficult and honestly, I did not mind a walk.
"Sure." There was no harm in this.
Irene had brought me a thick shawl and kept another one draped over her arm as she walked behind us with the other ladies in waiting.
The night was cold and with the winter approaching, Astria was only going to get colder. It snowed in the winter here and it stayed that way for quite a few months.
"It snows here," I told Chiara who was on my left, "would you be affected?"
"No." She answered. "the village where most of her people decide it’s actually up in the snowy mountains. You will not find any humans living up there. It’s what Astria borders with the northern kingdom."
"It does?" I couldn’t help but ask. "The map divides them and snowy mountains are only in the territory of the north."
"Yes. The map does show it because that is what we want to show. This was because humans do not come and wander around. Not that the cold allows them to do so."
It was a slightly diplomatic answer. She did not tell me the reason exactly, but skirted and brushed around to the topic.
I accepted that.
"It would bother you though." Chiara noted to herself. "I am aware of the cold, having its effect on you, it taught me enough with Lara. I will make sure that everything is in accordance and all your clothes are replaced with thicker material."
She smiled at me. "You are very dear to me now. You will not suffer, Genevive."
"Now, I won’t but what about earlier?" I asked her. "Why let me suffer before?"
