The Princess Kidnapping System Made Me OP-Chapter 33: Preparing for the Finals
Chapter 33: Preparing for the Finals
Wise woke up very early the next morning. It was the day of the finals and so he had to make sure he arrived on time.
Last night had been a fun experience but also a very draining one, once he got to his feet he rubbed away the grim from of his eyes and stumbled into the bathroom.
It took him less than ten minutes to finish having his bath and put on a fresh set of clothes, after which he emerged from the bathroom.
When he got into the room, Rosa stirred in her bed, thankfully she hadn’t fallen off like last time.
Wise walked up to her and stared down. He felt a little guilty about waking her but he had to go now and he could not leave without letting her know.
So he grabbed onto her shoulders, planning to wake her when her eyes suddenly shut open, she sucked in a sharp breath before her eyes settled on him.
"Wise?" She asked as she rose up from below the sheets. "Good morning."
"Good morning to you too, princess," Wise replied.
A crease formed between Rosalind’s eyebrows as she stared at him. "Princess?"
"Oh..." Wise scratched his head. "Force of habit, anyways, I’m going out now but I’ll be back in the evening."
"You remember what I said last time right?"
Rosalind nodded just before she yawned cutely. "Don’t answer the door, stay inside."
Wise then replied, "Today will be a bit different. I’ll send the receptionist to bring you food, but when he comes, he will knock three times."
"Okay, three times... I’ll remember," she replied in a sleepish voice before falling back to the bed.
Leaving her to enjoy her sleep, Wise walked toward the door, but paused just as he was about to leave the room.
"Rosa?"
"Hmmm?"
"I’ll be leaving the city soon."
Wise had initially planned to spend only a few days in Teasei but what was meant to be a short detour had turned into something else entirely.
After he defeats the princess, thereby winning their bet, he would leave the city and continue on to the Skentic ruins.
That was the initial plan but now there was something else or rather, someone else he had to consider
What would happen to Rosalind if he left?
After their little getaway yesterday, Wise had stayed awake longer, prowling through the city in hopes of finding the demon that haunted her but there was not a single trace of the demon.
The demon was like a ghost and if not for the massacre he had witnessed firsthand, Wise would have believed it was all a figment of her imagination.
Could he really leave her like this?
She was not a princess nor did she have any abilities but Wise didn’t like the thought of leaving her alone.
When Rosa heard what he had said, she suddenly jumped out of bed, the sleepiness completely fleeing from her being.
It looked like she wanted to say something but she held herself back and turned away
with a sad look in her eyes.
"Would you like to come with me? We’ll be on the road for a couple of days bu—"
"Yes!" Rosa screamed, her eyes teary. "Yes, I would love to join you."
Wise smiled and began slowly shutting the door behind him. "Then it’s a plan."

The battle arena was filled to the brim, and although it was always filled, today felt a bit different.
Some people sat on the laps of their friends, others sat on the floor and a few even used ladders to climb atop the arena wall, leaving the guards with a lot of work on their hands.
Everyone wanted to see the glorious conclusion of the 100th ever battle games. Out of the tens of participants that reminded, only three would be participating.
The western sage, Akaza, the masked warrior Mr anonymous and the Demon slayer, Xanthos.
Daphne sat among the crowd, hugging her body tightly as the chilly winds blew past her. Even with the number of people in the arena, somehow the cold had still managed to penetrate through.
Suppressing a slight shiver, Daphne cussed and looked to her left. Freya was beside her, once again munching on a snack, for someone who was a disaster in the kitchen, it was almost as if she was always eating.
Esme who was usually active leaning on her left shoulder, was fast asleep. It seemed the cold had gotten to her as well...
Daphne scooched over towards Freya, yawned and rested her head on her shoulders— her entire body was like a pillow, she had realised that from the ’few’ times she had fallen asleep.
"Wake me up when the match starts...." She said just before she fell asleep.
Behind the three girls, a middle aged man settled into his chair, looking at the arena with a smile on his face.
"I spent good money for this seat boy, make sure you win!" Stanley screamed, his voice blending with the cheers of the crowd.
At the most honored spot in the area were two thrones, one for the king of Orks and the second for his queen.
The king was not present, but the queen sat cross-legged as she watched from above, her eyes sharp.
Behind her one of her guards walked towards her and whispered something into her ear, after which she smiled.
"Have an ornate casket prepared in his stead," she said, her voice mirthful. "We can’t send him back to the dragon without showing him a little respect."
The guard nodded and stepped back, turning around to carry out his task.

Below the battle arena.
Ork City, Teasei.
Wise sat alone in an empty room, he was seated on the stool he had spent many hours on in the past few days.
A chessboard sat in front of him, completely untouched. Normally, he would have been playing but at this point in the tournament, most other warriors were either dead or had been eliminated.
As a result, there was an eerie silence in the once lively space. Wise let out a sigh as he okayed with the chess pieces.
’Let them start the darn thing already.’ He complained inwardly.
Then he paused and without raising his head, he asked, "Care for a game?"
He was not alone. ƒгeewebnovёl_com
