The President's Pregnant, Ex-Wife-Chapter 387 – I want your wife
Chapter 387: Chapter 387 – I want your wife
Jacob woke up with a pounding headache when the light was turned on. Looking around, the room looked familiar but it wasn’t his.
At the same time, his eyes squinted due to the brightness of the light. "Where am I, where is my mother?"
As he asked, his gaze locked with that of Robin and he slowly understood what had happened.
He recalled suddenly feeling sleepy when he was having one of those annoying discussions with his mother once again.
He couldn’t understand the reason why his mother would constantly defend Robin after all that Robin’s father did to them.
Rage boiled inside of him upon deciphering that Robin had used the same trick on him like he did.
He could not stomach the fact that Robin must have found out that he was the one behind the scandal, surprised that he didn’t go after the people he used but came directly to him.
His abode was a safe hideout and how Robin managed to find the location was still a mystery to him.
However, recalling his mother’s words, that Jacob could not win against Robin, Jacob felt embarrassed that indeed, another doomed prophecy of his mother had come through again.
He never planned to meet Robin like this and was not prepared to speak with him either. The only excuse he could use was his mother but he was genuinely disturbed because of her health condition and added,
"She has a cough variant asthma. She won’t survive without her inhalers." He was sure that his mother didn’t have any inhalers on her, just as he didn’t.
After all, he was brought here against his will, just as he set Robin up against his will.
Hearing that his mother’s evil best friend was sick, Robin had no intention of dealing with a sick person. It would be better if she was in good health so she could confess and face the music.
"I will get a health worker to check on her," Robin said and sent a text message on his phone. After he was done, he assured Jacob, "She will be fine."
"Where is she?" Jacob asked anxiously. He didn’t trust Robin and the fact remained that he loathed the latter.
Robin was calm as he sat on a chair beside the bed Jacob sat on. "In the next room but you can’t bypass me to go there. The door is locked and I have my men outside."
"What do you want?" Jacob’s brows furrowed and his anger burned deeper than coal.
"That is the question I want to ask you," Robin’s calmness extended to his voice. He pointed out,
"You are the one who began to meddle in my business."
Robin was not going to tell him straight away about his findings without knowing what his twin brother was up to. As expected, Jacob was furious.
"What makes you think that I will tell you?" he asked angrily, the corner of Robin’s lips raised a little.
"I can send another message to the health worker to not check on your mother. My mother died years ago and I have lived with it, so I won’t care about yours."
The reason why Robin wouldn’t care was because he knew that the woman Jacob called a mother was evil.
However, he felt that the truth would be too heavy for Jacob to carry, so he put it that way to aggravate him.
If that happened, then Jacob, out of anger, might tell Robin what he wanted to know. That was Robin’s plan, which somehow worked as Jacob began to curse. "You are heartless, just like your father."
Robin nodded his head and asked in a neutral tone, "What do you know about my father?"
Pain registered in Jacob’s eyes as he scowled, "Just get out of my face and get me out of here."
Robin forced a smile, clueless about what made his twin brother so hateful of him. Still, he was not ready to let him go until they hashed out everything.
"I can also give all the proof I have to the police and put you behind bars. Your mother could still die of heartbreak or whatever asthma you spoke about, so what is your take?" Robin asked in a relaxed manner.
He had no intention of doing as he said but hoped that the threat would be strong enough to get whatever his twin brother was hiding out of him. "Remember, I never came to you. It was rather the other way."
"I don’t want to talk to you," Jacob snarled. He was upset to be at Robin’s mercy but was also not going to make things easy for him.
He first thought about fighting his way through, but remembering what Robin did at the wedding and how he exerted physical strength, it only meant that Robin was tougher than he looked.
"I wasn’t expecting you to be afraid of me," Robin said in a mocking tone, aggravating Jacob’s anger as the latter yelled,
"I’m not afraid of you." He stood up and walked to the large window to avoid Robin’s gaze. Robin remained seated.
"Then let it out. What do I owe you?" he asked.
His question made Jacob feel that he gave himself away. After all, Robin didn’t show him any proof so he could deny all the allegations.
"I don’t know what you are talking about. Who are you and why are you here?" Jacob asked. Robin laughed. At first, he thought that Jacob was afraid of him, and his behavior only confirmed it.
"Stop pretending, Jacob Dwayne. After sending Gladys to my office, trying to abduct my wife at that wedding, you also set me up again. I know everything, so it’s too late to pretend. I know everything about you, including the DNA you carry," Robin blurted out.
Jacob went stiff. He knew that trying to pretend was useless. How could he have known that just as he was planning more evil against Robin, the latter was equally investigating him?
Jacob turned to face Robin. There was no longer any fear on his face as he demanded,
"Like I said on the phone, I want your wife."
