The Only Spatial Ability User In The Apocalypse-Chapter 63 Back on the road
Sylas took out bottled water and gulped it down.
The recent fight with the high-level zombie almost cost him his life.
Sylas wiped the water away from his mouth and slowly walked towards the head of the high-level zombie.
Slash!
The spatial blade cut open the zombie’s head, and a white-colored energy stone rolled out from the zombie’s brain matter.
The energy stone was a little bigger than the size of a marble, but Sylas could feel the energy radiating from it. It was stronger than any other energy stone he had come across so far.
He used the remaining water from the bottle to wash the energy stone and immediately tossed it into his space.
Sylas waited for a few seconds, but apart from his space absorbing the energy stone and the recovery of his depleted energy, no new changes happened.
’Looks like I will need more energy stones if I want to upgrade it to level 4,’ Sylas thought.
Sylas decided to count the levels, so he simply used numbers to keep track.
’I need to hurry and catch up with Major Kyle and the others before they reach the city. Or else it would not be good if they encounter a high-level zombie,’ Sylas thought.
The mental attack of the high-level zombie was so strong that if not for his space ability, he would have been dead.
He stretched his arms and immediately shot out. His speed was so fast that only the fallen leaves flew up along with the gust from where he was standing.
When Sylas came out of the forest and stepped onto the highway near the safe zone, he immediately sensed an army of zombies ahead. They were all leaving the town and heading straight towards where the survivors had gone. Although they wouldn’t be able to catch up with the cars, it was still not good news. If the zombies made it to the cities, the concentration of zombies would grow bigger and bigger, giving birth to a high-level zombie.
Sylas didn’t take out his car. His speed was faster than the car, and although it consumed energy, it didn’t consume much. So he headed towards the army of zombies. Within minutes, the army of zombies entered Sylas’ vision. They were slow, but they were steadily making their way towards the city.
Sylas used his senses to scan the army of zombies and realized that there were no other high-level zombies and not even one with an energy stone.
He could already use his senses to detect energy stones.
’It looks like the high-level zombie consumed all the energy stones to increase its strength,’ Sylas thought as he stood on the branch of a tall tree near the road.
Since there were no high-level zombies among the army of zombies, it would be easy for Sylas to deal with these normal zombies, but the number was overwhelming. He could deal with them all if he went all out, but that would drain all his energy, and it would take time. Even if his strength had upgraded, one man against thousands was not something to take lightly.
Besides, there might be variables, and he didn’t want to take risks. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
Moreover, he had to hurry and catch up with Major Kyle’s group, so he decided not to deal with the army of zombies and bypass them.
The zombies didn’t sense him, and he quietly passed by them from the side of the road.
Sylas’ senses continuously scanned his surroundings as he ran.
A few mutated animals and plants obstructed his way, but he quickly used his spatial blade to deal with them. They were all low-level mutated creatures without energy stones.
After sensing that he had completely bypassed the army of zombies, Sylas quickly got onto the road. It would take time for him to catch up to Major Kyle’s group with his car, so he was still running on the road.
There was a shortcut through the forest, but he didn’t dare to take it. The forest was home to mutated creatures; if he encountered a powerful mutated creature, it would delay him or even cost him his life. But that didn’t mean the road was completely safe. Between the two, Sylas chose to travel by road.
With his speed, Sylas sensed them within half an hour.
Now that he had already sensed them, Sylas wanted to take out his car and catch up with them, but he immediately stopped his actions.
He suddenly sensed strong mutated creatures rushing towards the cars from the forest.
Many people inside the cars were normal people. If those mutated creatures made it out of the forest and stepped onto the road, the casualties would be unavoidable.
Sylas immediately left the road and entered the forest, heading straight towards the mutated creatures. He wanted to obstruct them before they could step onto the road.
Not long after, Sylas appeared before the mutated creatures.
The mutated tigers, seeing Sylas, immediately roared at him.
’Three mutated tigers! Not low-level either,’ Sylas thought as he observed them.
All three of them were huge in size, their muscles bulging.
Their eyes glowed red as they angrily roared at Sylas, who was blocking their way.
The mutated tiger in the middle craned its neck and tilted its head slightly as it bared its sharp teeth at Sylas. Then it raised one of its front legs and stomped hard on the ground, sending stones and debris flying. At the same time, it roared loudly and lunged at Sylas.
Roar!
A thunderous roar echoed through the forest. At the same time, fire came out of the tiger’s mouth.
’Fire-ability mutated tiger!’ Sylas’ pupils shrank as he quickly stepped back, getting into a defensive stance and raising a space barrier to block the fire attack.
Whoosh!
Sylas could feel the heat from the mutated tiger’s fire. As soon as he raised the space barrier, the heat vanished, and the fire slammed into it. Then the tiger’s claws scratched against the space barrier, sending ripples across its surface.
’It’s a high-level mutated tiger with an ability!’
