The Obsessive Tycoon Claims the Deserted Heiress-Chapter 151 - 150: How can I walk if you hold me like this?
Chapter 151: 150: How can I walk if you hold me like this?
"Why are you in such a rush?" Yunzhi glanced at the person beside him, his almond-like eyes glinting with amusement. "Brother Fan is almost thirty, and he’s not anxious at all."
"Nonsense." Xu Fan flicked his curled knuckle against the younger man’s forehead. He was clearly only in his twenties; thirty was still a bit away.
"What do you mean? You’re almost there anyway." After all, thirty wasn’t that far from twenty-eight, just two years—gone in a blink.
Seeing the younger man clutch his forehead and cast a pitiful, accusing glance his way, Xu Fan chuckled softly. "Do you think I’m too old?"
When he asked that, there was a flicker of a subtle, unreadable emotion deep within his eyes.
"No, no." Yunzhi shook his head hurriedly, afraid that Xu Fan’s thoughts might stray somewhere absurd. His expression was extraordinarily earnest. "Brother Fan will always be young in my heart."
Xu Fan mussed the soft strands of his hair, his smile unwavering, though a faint bitterness settled in his chest.
The younger man was so pure, yet he harbored thoughts far less so—it was truly disgraceful.
"Brother Fan?" Seeing the man seemingly lost in thought, Yunzhi nudged his arm with an elbow, trying to pull him back from his reverie.
Xu Fan snapped out of it and shook his head slightly, letting out a quiet sigh before resuming his thoughtful task of serving the younger man’s dinner.
After finishing their meal, the group strolled together through a narrow garden path adorned with lush greenery, heading toward Ziyan Lake.
It was late autumn. After sunset, the temperature had dropped considerably; even before they reached the lakeside, a chilly breeze swept straight at them.
The girl wore too little. She rubbed her chilled arms, not yet moving closer to the man, when she saw him remove his suit jacket and drape it over her shoulders.
"Aren’t you cold?" Yu Zhi looked at the man, now left with only a thin shirt, her delicate brows knitting together slightly.
She regretted not bringing a jacket with her earlier.
"I’m warm." The man leaned down and pinched her nose playfully, his gaze suggestive enough to stir anyone’s imagination.
The girl pressed her lips together, slipping both hands into the sleeves of the suit jacket and wrapping her arms around his waist.
Using her body as his heater, she didn’t care whether he was truly immune to the cold.
Shi Wei’s heart melted entirely at the girl’s gesture. He couldn’t help but feel, what tremendous good karma had he built up in his past life to deserve such a treasure now?
He kissed the corner of her lips, his dark, deep eyes shimmering like rippling water under the moonlight, aglow with tenderness. "Silly girl, if you cling to me like this, how are we supposed to walk?"
The girl froze for a moment, her alabaster cheeks blushing with a faint crimson hue. She bit her lip. "Then carry me; problem solved."
Shi Wei didn’t refuse her suggestion. Any chance to share close, intimate moments with her was a joy to him.
His broad back came into view, and the girl climbed on without a second thought, wrapping her arms around his neck and continuing her noble duty as his human heater.
By the time they ambled to the lakeside, a thin veil of mist had begun to rise from the water. Under the cool white glow of the moonlight, the ethereal scene resembled a dreamlike paradise.
The girl fixated on the otherworldly pavilion standing in the middle of the lake. She patted the man’s shoulder, motioning for him to carry her closer.
"You’re so slow." Already in the pavilion and done snapping several photos, Yunzhi waved his phone at them excitedly as they approached.
The younger man’s eyes sparkled, brimming with anticipation as he showed them the screen. "Look, what do you think?"
Yu Zhi examined each photo he swiped through, carefully admiring the cheerful, delicate features of the boy smiling at the camera. His joy was so contagious; it was impossible not to be drawn into it.
"They’re beautiful." She praised him sincerely and pointed to a spot facing the round moon. "Try taking a few shots over there."
"Got it." Yunzhi, clutching his phone, dashed over to Xu Linchuan, tugging at his sleeve to pull him along for more photo-taking adventures.
Seated sideways with his back to the full moon, soft moonlight cascading behind him, Xu Linchuan’s face became obscured. However, it added an artistic air to the scene.
"Zhizhi, do you want to take pictures too?" Shi Wei turned his head to glance at the girl who had been silently watching them. Adjusting her position on his back, he hoisted her up slightly.
Yu Zhi shook her head. Feeling the temperature in the pavilion drop significantly, she pressed her cheek against his cool face and murmured, "I want to go back."
"Don’t want to stay a while longer?"
"We’ll come back tomorrow to row a boat." She had glimpsed several boats docked outside earlier.
Perhaps due to the low visibility at night, no boatmen were present.
"Alright." Shi Wei bid farewell to the group, arranging a meeting spot for later, then carried the girl back toward their lodgings.
The hotel’s second floor spanned an entire wine bar. The mellow music playing there wasn’t intrusive; instead, it offered a calming ambience for leisurely enjoyment.
Unlike the hotel’s modern, elegant décor, the private booths here were steeped in a vintage aesthetic—dark red visual themes, bamboo curtains, and paper lanterns—reminiscent of a past era.
Two servers entered, one balancing a tray of tiny porcelain cups filled with fruit wine, the other carrying champagne and red wine. They carefully placed them on the long table.
"Zhizhi, this one’s for you." Shi Wei picked up a porcelain cup and placed it in her hands.
Ever since witnessing the girl’s impressive alcohol tolerance, the man hadn’t dared let her touch red wine again.
The fruit wine had been specially prepared for her; even if she drank it all, she wouldn’t get tipsy.
The sweet scent of lychee wafted through the air. Yu Zhi took a sip, finding the flavor pleasant and the alcohol barely noticeable. She then held the cup up to the man’s lips. "Want to try?"
"Hmm, sure."
Without another word, Shi Wei wrapped his arm around her waist and tilted his head to taste the lychee flavor directly from her lips.
This method of "tasting" was nothing new. The moment she felt his large hand pressing against her, the girl already guessed what he was about to do.
Turning her head away, she lowered her eyes to stare at the swirling liquor in the little porcelain cup. Her butterfly-wing lashes trembled as a faint blush spread to the tips of her ears.
Shi Wei chuckled softly. He silently poured himself a full glass of champagne and downed it in one gulp, immediately following it up with red wine.
By his third glass, the girl snatched the cup out of his hands, her expression slightly reproachful. "Why are you drinking so much?"
"I’m thirsty." Shi Wei tightened his hold around her slim waist. His fingers, cool against her skin, slid beneath the fabric at her lower back. "Zhizhi, won’t you let me drink?"
The man’s deep voice whispered into her ear. Tilting her head back slightly, she tried to distance herself from his electrifying tone.
She gestured towards the bamboo curtain. "Wait until they’re here, then drink." If he drank so much now, who knew how drunk he’d get later?
