The Obsessive Tycoon Claims the Deserted Heiress-Chapter 150 - 149: Do you want to sleep in a separate room from me?
Chapter 150: 149: Do you want to sleep in a separate room from me?
"Shi Wei, why won’t this door open?" The young girl gripped the handle of the window-side door, her face puzzled as she looked over at the man lounging on the sofa.
"Do you want to sleep in separate rooms from me?" Shi Wei raised his brows slightly, his hands casually draped over the sofa, exuding an air of lazy yet dignified elegance.
"No," Yu Zhi walked over to the man, and when he opened his arms, she settled into his lap: "I just want to take a look inside."
Her gaze remained fixed on the tightly shut door, her light hazel almond-shaped eyes brimming with curiosity and inquiry.
"Maybe the door’s broken," Shi Wei smirked discreetly in a way that she couldn’t see.
He pinched her chin, directing her gaze forcefully onto him. "It’s all the same. Nothing interesting to see."
"Hmm." Yu Zhi, although doubtful that such a problem would arise in a high-end luxury hotel, couldn’t find a reason for the man to lie.
The evening sunlight poured in, refracting into a kaleidoscope of fragmented hues in the living room, red and yellow interwoven into a breathtakingly beautiful display.
The girl leaned against the man’s shoulder, her eyes fixed on his handsome face, which was bathed in a gentle glow courtesy of the shimmering light.
She reached out a hand, gently stroking his tall nose bridge. As her fingertip landed on his pale pink lips, the man suddenly opened his mouth and lightly nibbled at her fingertips.
"Zhizhi, are you thinking about kissing me?" Shi Wei teased with a lazy smile, his pearly teeth gently grazing her finger, sending a tingling sensation through her.
The girl withdrew her hand and softly responded with a quiet "yes," beneath his gaze full of tenderness and indulgence.
She encircled the man’s neck, seemingly mesmerized by him, instinctively leaning closer to his lips.
"Good girl," Shi Wei obligingly bowed his head, softly praising her before deepening the kiss.
The man released all the emotions he’d been suppressing since their time on the plane, only stopping when the girl was practically out of breath, letting her go with a hint of pity.
Only then did Yu Zhi truly understand what people meant by the phrase "beauty being a trap." Blushing, she buried her face into his chest, unwilling to meet his teasing, smiling eyes.
After a long pause, she tugged at the sleeve of his shirt and placed a hand over her stomach, her clear and sweet voice tinged with a hint of softness: "Shi Wei, I’m hungry."
She hadn’t eaten much at school during lunchtime, and the moment she got home, she had rushed to change and come here.
Not even a bite of chocolate had managed to pass her lips in the meantime.
"Little foodie." Shi Wei kissed the girl’s cheek, then picked her up, wrapping his arms around her small waist as he set off.
In the hotel’s rear garden, the lush green trees had vine-shaped lanterns hanging from them, casting a soft yellow glow along the entire pathway under the gradually dimming twilight.
At the end of the road, atop the grassy lawn, white Roman umbrellas were dotted at intervals, sheltering tables and chairs beneath them.
As the group settled around the table, waitstaff wheeled over a cart laden with gourmet dishes and fine wine, the tantalizing aroma wafting into their senses.
"Wow, my favorite cheese!" Jin Yunzhi’s eyes brightened at the sight of a steak smothered in melted cheese, and his hands holding a knife and fork seemed eager to dive in.
His greedy demeanor mirrored that of the young girl beside him, prompting Shi Wei to pinch the cheeks of the dazed Yu Zhi. His voice softened. "Little foodie, aren’t you eating?"
Yu Zhi hurriedly nodded, and after a brief moment of indecision among the options, she picked up a juicy, plump chicken wing and took a bite, chewing in small, delicate motions.
The faint lemon fragrance filled her mouth, and she closed her eyes in satisfaction, her enjoyment of this particular dish unmistakably written across her expression.
Across the table, Jin Yunzhi, his mouth stuffed with cheese, remained fixated on the steak, reaching for another helping, only for the person beside him to stop him again.
Xu Fan placed a piece of foie gras onto his plate. "You shouldn’t eat too much steak. Give this a try."
Steak is filling, and with Jin’s insatiable appetite, it wouldn’t be long before he overindulged, ultimately unable to enjoy the rest and forcing himself to keep eating.
"Fine, I guess I’ll reluctantly give it a taste." Jin Yunzhi cut off a tiny morsel and, adopting a posture of utmost elegance, savored it slowly.
"Xu Fan, I’m starting to doubt whether you’re actually my brother," Xu Linchuan quipped playfully as he picked up a piece of foie gras himself, a smile tugging at his lips.
Though he’d grown up accustomed to Xu Fan’s unconditional indulgence of the "little kid," tonight he just couldn’t resist cracking a joke.
After all, that "little kid" had dismissed him outright. And Xu Linchuan? He was a master at holding grudges.
"Someone’s just jealous, aren’t they?" Jin Yunzhi, cutting another piece of foie gras, smugly placed it onto the plate of the person beside him, tilting his chin in a deliberately proud manner.
"You wish." Xu Linchuan naturally took what was on Xu Fan’s plate and popped it into his mouth, meeting Jin Yunzhi’s gaze challengingly.
"Brother Fan, look at him!" Jin Yunzhi, unable to tolerate the blatant provocation, slapped the table and puffed up like a furious, bristling kitten.
"Tsk, here you go tattling again, huh?"
"What’s wrong with tattling? If you’ve got the guts, then you tattle too! Go ahead, tattle!"
"..."
Yu Zhi propped one hand on the table while holding a chicken wing in the other and casually sipping from a glass, her eyes lighting up as she watched the trio bicker across the table.
Her gaze swept back and forth between Xu Fan and Xu Linchuan, sensing something fishy brewing beneath the surface, though she hesitated to jump to conclusions.
"Why’s your face all oily?" Shi Wei gently gripped the girl’s chin, turning her head toward him.
He picked up a napkin and carefully wiped the oil stains from her lips before dropping a tender kiss.
Their intimate actions gradually stilled the chatter across the table. Jin Yunzhi stared at Shi Wei’s gentle expression and couldn’t help remarking, "So this is what Brother Wei looks like in a relationship."
"Sickeningly sweet, isn’t it? I keep saying he’s afflicted with skin hunger syndrome, yet he refuses to admit it." Xu Linchuan’s sour tone barely masked a trace of envy.
If not for his hectic work schedule leaving little room to connect with the right woman, perhaps by now he’d be enjoying his own sweet romance.
"The old man set up a blind date for you a few days ago. How about making some time to check it out?" Xu Fan caught onto the undertone of his words and offered the suggestion.
"Forget it. Blind dates are so boring."
"I agree. Going on a blind date is nowhere near as good as finding someone yourself."
Jin Yunzhi tilted his chin slightly, motioning toward the couple on the opposite side of the table. "Didn’t Brother Wei find his own?"
Thinking back, who would’ve guessed that the first among them to get in a relationship would be the woman-averse Master Shi? In the end, everything boils down to timing and chance.
And without that timing, it’s impossible to rush fate.
"Yeah, I’ll just take my time and wait," Xu Linchuan said as he picked up a chicken wing, leaning back in his seat and redirecting his focus to the feast before him.
