Chapter 152: 151: Am I Zhizhi’s husband then?

"Hmm." Shi Weiqing’s gaze lingered on the delicate skin of the young girl’s neck, his eyes darkening noticeably.

He stroked the soft flesh at his waist, taking a deep breath to steady his turbulent heart.

As Xu Linchuan and the others lifted the bamboo curtain, they immediately caught sight of the intimate interaction between the two. Xu Linchuan clicked his tongue mockingly, "Master Shi, you’re too much."

Ever since they disembarked from the plane, this man seemed glued to the girl. Aside from bathroom breaks, he hadn’t left her side for even a moment.

If that’s how he acted around others, it was hard to imagine how exaggerated things could get behind closed doors.

Shi Weiqing cast him a faint sideways glance, sat up straighter, and casually tossed the dice cup on the table towards him, raising an eyebrow, "Want to play a round?"

"Bring it on." Xu Linchuan, unyielding, shook the dice vigorously, resting one foot onto the sofa and bracing a knee with his hand as he challenged the man head-on.

But how could he possibly be a match for Shi Weiqing? As soon as the game began, Xu Linchuan found himself downing four to five glasses in a row, hiccupping from the bloating.

"I need a moment." He raised a hand indicating time-out and pushed the dice cup toward Xu Fan beside him, "Brother, you play a couple of rounds with him first."

When things were casual, he referred to Xu Fan by name, but in moments like these, "Brother" came into play.

Xu Fan shook his head quietly, then began the first round after shaking the dice just twice.

His skill was far superior to Xu Linchuan’s. While he couldn’t be considered invincible, he was able to break Shi Weiqing’s streak and, incidentally, make him drink a few more cups.

"Wait, let me join too." Seeing his brother falter, Xu Linchuan suddenly felt reinvigorated, as if his stomach had stopped bloating entirely.

"Six sixes."

"Seven sixes."

"Call!"

"..."

Between the tag-team assault of the two brothers, Shi Weiqing had already finished off a whole bottle of champagne.

His cheeks and neck had taken on a faint blush, while the captivating peach blossom-shaped eyes seemed enveloped in a hazy mist.

"Shi Weiqing, stop drinking." Yu Zhi grew visibly worried and removed the dice cup from his hands, not letting him continue.

The man leaned against the girl’s shoulder, wrapped an arm around her waist, and directed a triumphant gaze at the others across from him, "The little one at home is strict; you all carry on."

His boastful demeanor was now even unbearable for Xu Fan.

Xu Fan picked up one of the dice, tossing it casually in the air, and said with a teasing smile, "Master Shi, were you losing to us on purpose?"

Though they’d played together before, tonight Shi Weiqing was making an unusually high number of errors—he’d even carelessly forgotten to call a full house.

If there wasn’t an ulterior motive behind it, who would believe it?

Shi Weiqing: "..."

He ignored Xu Fan’s remarks, tightening his grip around the young girl’s waist.

"Zhizhi, I’m so tired." The man drooped his eyelids in apparent exhaustion, looking as if he might drift off to sleep at any second.

Moved by pity, Yu Zhi hurried to support his arm and stood up, apologizing, "I’ll take him upstairs first. You all should get some rest too."

"Alright, take care." Xu Fan watched the man bury his face in the girl’s shoulder and neck with a smile that wasn’t entirely innocent. He emphasized the word "care" with particular weight.

The girl, too focused on navigating the steps to ensure the man wouldn’t stumble, missed the meaningful glance shared in midair between him and Xu Fan.

In the hallway, Yu Zhi helped the staggering man to the door of the room, fishing around in his pockets only to come up empty-handed.

"Where did you put the room card?" She raised her head to look at him curiously, clutching his sleeve with her small hand and giving it a gentle tug.

"In my pants." Shi Weiqing, holding the young girl close, half-closed his eyes and pressed his lips to her neck, his hoarse voice tinged with unbridled desire.

Feeling her hand move against the thin fabric near his thigh, the man’s throat bobbed, and the redness at the corners of his eyes deepened.

Just as the sound of a beep rang out, Yu Zhi was about to guide him toward the bedroom on the right when she was suddenly scooped up by the waist and carried into the opposite direction.

The room door, which had remained locked during the day, was now effortlessly pushed open by the man.

"How did you..."

The girl’s words trailed off, stunned into silence by the sight before her.

Bright red rose petals carpeted the hallway and the double bed. The coffee table and nightstand held small candles that swayed gently in the warm glow of the wall lights when stirred by a soft breeze.

With delicate care, the man tread on the bed of rose petals, gently placing her onto the bed. As she lay down, the night sky above filled her entire view.

Through the glass ceiling, the radiant full moon hung amidst a blanket of twinkling stars, shining with a brilliance so breathtaking it seemed as though she were in the heart of the Galaxy, unable to look away from such beauty.

"Zhizhi, do you like it?" Shi Weiqing softly stroked her hair, which had scattered across the petals, and pressed a kiss onto her forehead.

"I love it." The girl curved her lips into a smile, her eyes reflecting the starry sky and brimming with uncontainable joy.

After admiring the night for a while, she turned to glance at the man beside her, who was toying with a few strands of her hair, looking lively and alert. "Aren’t you tired anymore?"

"Tired. Time to sleep." Shi Weiqing murmured softly, and before the young girl could react further, he scooped her up again and carried her into the bathroom.

The sound of water splashing against the floor reverberated throughout the bedroom, accompanied by faint rustlings.

"Shi Weiqing!"

"Mmm..."

...

When the girl woke again, the sun was already high above.

As sunlight spilled down from overhead, she couldn’t help but recall the countless shame-inducing things she’d said last night under the man’s persuasion.

"Why is your face red?" Shi Weiqing chuckled softly, leaning down to kiss her slightly swollen lips upon noticing the blush on her cheeks.

"You did that on purpose!" Yu Zhi glared at him, turning over and clutching her aching waist, hiding her face under the covers in a fit of embarrassment and annoyance.

From the moment he’d coaxed her into drinking, she should have known it was all deliberate.

Pretending to drink too much, pretending to be tired—it was all a ploy to lure her upstairs and have his way with her.

Shi Weiqing curved his lips into a satisfied smile. He slipped an arm around the bundle beside him, tilting her chin up. "Zhizhi, that’s not how you said ’husband’ last night."

"Don’t say it..." The girl hurriedly covered his mouth, her lashes trembling like butterfly wings.

Her face turned an even deeper shade of red as she angrily and shyly pinched his cheek, "You were the one who told me to say it."

If she hadn’t complied, he would have found another way to torment her. He truly was insufferably devious.

Even as she pinched his face, Shi Weiqing remained unperturbed. Instead, he grasped her wrist and kissed the center of her palm with tenderness. "Doesn’t that make me Zhizhi’s husband?"
